It's an atmosphere of babbling brooks and fairytale woodlands, wide fields, picnic areas and more set under clear, starry nights. There's even a pond that you can explore. A note from the site themselves...
We are a family run business with a passion for bringing people together to connect with each other, themselves and with nature. The most commonly used word to describe our site is 'magical'. It is a retreat as well as a campsite.
We are on the edge of Dartmoor providing beauty, peace and tranquility, with lots to explore. Perfect for families, groups, couples or single people wanting to recharge, refresh and renew.
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay, lived up to the expectations in every way.
The furnishings inside the hut make life easy, and there'd clear attention to detail in what's included. Clean and tidy throughout and well maintained.
The site itself is what you'd expect, but with some extra love and attention in areas, such as the stream. It's a cute walk, but the chicken wire and little statues along the route demonstrate a level of effort that was very well received.
The facilities were great as well. Showers hot, communal area has everything you'd need for kids, fridge and microwave, and there's a couple of cats running around that loved snuggles.
The welcome packs are a very nice addition and give you some good ideas about what to do in town, and I made full use of the maps and binoculars provided. Value for money was good and I really enjoyed the vibe.
Staff were helpful and I can't fault the service in any way. 5 stars all around and well deserved. Thanks for a peaceful stay.

Shepherd's Hut - Shepherd's HutNov 2023
Went here in late November with my boyfriend to celebrate his graduation and get away for a little bit. We only stayed for two nights but they were absolute bliss! We were a bit apprehensive about the cold but the hosts provided plenty of extra blankets, a big heater and even offered us wellies because of the mud! The shared facilities were really well kept and the fridge provided was a lifesaver.
The site also isn't too far from Okehampton (about a 15 minute drive) which was handy and has plenty of lush places to eat and things to do, especially when it got dark so we couldn't be walking around Dartmoor anymore.
The only downside we found was how quickly the sun set each day, so we will definitely have to visit again in the summer when we can have full days to explore!!

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023
The site was easy to find and get to, although the dirt road getting to the site needs a lot of work done to it to improve the last or first bit of driving.
I did get a flat tyre because of the pot holes and sharp rocks. That is my only negative thing to say about this campsite. There is plenty of space for a lot of people.
It has a big stone circle in the middle of one field which you can have a big bonfire in.
