About the site
Located just ten minutes from the stunning coast and five minutes from Sutton Hoo, this family friendly site is in a prime spot for exploring all that Suffolk has to offer. The campsite is also committed to sustainable, low-impact living to protect the surrounding environment.
Guests can pitch up on one of the site's 50 spacious pitches, 30 with electric hook-up. The pitches are spread between five small fields and broken up by native trees and bushes, each welcoming tents, campervans, motorhomes, caravans and RVs.
This charming campsite is part of a working smallholding with rare breed goats, pigs, alpacas and chickens - and you're welcome to help as the animals are fed on Saturday evenings. Depending on the time of year, you may be lucky enough to meet baby alpacas, goats, chicks, piglets and more.
Campfires are permitted in fire pits (which the site hires out), and you can buy firewood (or you can bring your own).
Dogs on secure leads are welcome, and there is direct access from the campsite to walking trails through acres of beautiful countryside.

There are three small toilet/shower blocks powered by solar energy with hot water, dishwashing areas, a septic emptying point, waste and recycling bins and a fridge-freezer. The older green toilet block has two toilets, washing basins and a shower each for men and for women. The new toilet blocks have unisex facilities along with a disabled-access/family toilet and basins.
The site also sells its own home-reared, rare-breed sausages and bacon, as well as eggs, honey and jams, all from their smallholding.
In addition, the Blue Rabbit Cafe is open on site (April-October - Weekends, Bank Holidays and Thurs/Fri in school holidays 8.30am-1.30pm) selling homemade breakfasts, brunches and cakes, with Pete's Pizzas available most Fridays too.
Five minutes away you can find the Morrisons Daily shop for the essentials, The Sorrel Horse is also just next door offering a great range of pub food.
A note from the site themselves...
We manage the campsite and smallholding in accordance with the principles of sustainability and looking after the land. We manage the site organically so we don't use pesticides or chemical fertiliser.
We encourage everyone to recycle as much as they can. We also look to conserve water so will see we collect and reuse rain water for the animals and smallholding. Myself and the team look forward to welcome you to our eco site soon, Claire

Quiet and well appointed campsite with excellent dog walking opportunities, including a ten minute stroll to a wonderful 15th century pub!
Criticisms? Difficult, but be warned there is no heating in the shower block, so could be a problem on a chilly day! Overall, though, a superb site to which we will most definitely return ❤️👍
Site's response
Thank you for the lovely review. I am pleased you enjoyed your time here - pub and walks round here are great!
Unfortunately there is minimal heating (bit of underfloor heating) in the toilet blocks as we have a limited electrical supply and my wonderful electrician would have kittens if I used any more electricity. However the long term plan is to get more solar panels to produce even more of my own electricity and then hopefully there will be warmer toilet blocks!
Take care and look forward to seeing you again,
Claire

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesMay 2025
Lowkey charm, well run with minimal 'supervision' and maximum calm presence. Peaceful.
First camping experience for granddaughter. She loved it.
Site's response
Thank you so much for your review. I am pleased you had a good time and your granddaughter enjoyed her first camping experience. I love the phrase 'low key charm' - that is exactly what I am aiming for, I just didn't have the right words. I am glad you found it peaceful - I think it is too - it is a beautiful and quiet part of Suffolk.
Hope to see you again soon.
Take care,
Claire

Large A-class or Tag Axle Motorhome - Electric Grass PitchesMay 2025
A site on a smallholding with an added interest being the animals.
Good facilities, clean showers with hot water. Nice surrounding walks in the wood and by the crop fields. Plenty of wildlife and lovely trees and flowers.
A good location to visit places of interest. We visited Shingle Street, Orford and Aldeburgh. A nice little sandy beach at Bawdsey, much loved by the dog.
