About the site

You'll receive a warm welcome at Nyth Robin, which is small in its number of pitches, but big on space. The site's private woodlands are fun to explore and a great place for kids to let off steam. There are also nine touring pitches, all a good size and all with electric hookups. The four lower terrace pitches are on a separate gravel area, which is great for all weather conditions. The four upper terrace pitches are on grassier terrain and offer a bit more space, and there is also a smaller pitch on its own, suitable for campervans and small motorhomes only. For glampers, there are spacious 5-metre bell tents which sleep up to four people, so great for families or couples. For couples looking for a romantic getaway, there's the cosy woodland cabin. Or there's Bert, a lovely yurt with bespoke touches (including a door frame made from a homegrown oak tree!), sleeping up to six and set in its own secluded area. Ideal for a couple's break or a family escape, it has comfy beds and sofa beds, a private camp kitchen, a wood burner and a lovely fire pit for you to snuggle around. Don't miss the retro revamped horsebox, Betty, which sleeps up to four and includes a toasty wood-burning stove. Or you might like to try a Cerys the vintage caravan all your own with room for up to three and a lovely fire pit outside. All the glamping accommodation is set up in their own areas, so you're sure to enjoy a quiet and peaceful stay. They're all fully furnished with proper beds and double bedding included, and have their own well equipped rustic kitchen so you can enjoy a comfortable stay without the fuss. This area site has a wood-fired pizza oven, which the owners fire up on busy Saturday nights, and Saturday and Wednesday nights during the summer holidays only - do check in advance if Saturday night pizzas are on during your stay. Four-legged friends are welcome in all the glamping accommodation, except the vintage caravan, as well on all touring pitches. Aberdyfi beach has a big sandy beach where dogs can run for miles (and miles!) and has dog-friendly areas all year round. And there are plenty of dog-friendly cafes and pubs afterwards for post-walk refreshments.

A note from the site themselves...

Nyth Robin is owned and run by Sadie and Grant. We fell in love with the site (which was then just a small caravan site) and the area during a holiday to Aberdyfi in 2015. A year and a bit later, we opened as Nyth Robin with a brand new toilet block and our first glamping bell tents. Since then, we continue to enjoy improving and 'upgrading' Nyth Robin.

The site is a haven for bird life, and we enjoy the constant background chatter of the birds, especially in the spring when you'll most likely be woken up by the dawn chorus!

We are passionate about looking after our environment, and you'll see many reused and upcycled touches around the site. Grant is the master craftsman, enjoying creating spaces and structures, sustainably with wood from our woodlands.

We look forward to welcoming you to our small slice of Welsh heaven soon!

VW-Type Campervan - Upper Terrace Touring PitchesJul 2025

Our stay at Nyth Robin was one of the most beautiful, amazing campsite we have ever visited!! The pitch we stayed on was very generous with amazing views and surrounded by woodland. The facilities were very clean and maintained constantly. There were lovely little woodland walks around the site which we walked our dog every morning which we all enjoyed with beautiful woodland and plants. There is a lovely covered area with seating and a large pizza oven which I believe in high season they do pizza nights which is a lovely touch. Lovely reception with a few items for sale and lots of info on surrounding areas to see and visit. Overall our stay was so peaceful and the owners have really put alot of thought into their site making it honestly our favourite campsite to date. The only thing I would recommend when staying here is take some insect spray and insect bite cream, and also some hard rock pegs for your awnings or tent as the ground was a little hard in places, but other than that I would highly recommend staying here and we are definitely going to return in the future. And one last thing, check out the waterfalls and forests in the area, they are just magical and beautiful!!

Nice, private site

VW-Type Campervan - Small Campervan PitchJun 2025

Nyth Robin is a great site, with the small private camper pitch being very nice in particular. Very well located for a few nice walks, and very peaceful despite the proximity to the A road. We will definitely return next year!

FAQ

Check-in is from 1pm to 9pm for touring, and from 4pm to 9pm for glamping. You must vacate your pitch before noon on your last day or by 10am if glamping

Yes, up to two dogs are welcome on all camping and glamping accommodation, excluding the cosy hut and vintage caravan - they must be kept on a lead whilst onsite. Aberdovey beach is less than a ten minute drive from the site, and has dog friendly areas ideal for walking your pet.

Guests are welcome to bring their own BBQs and fire pits, provided they are kept raised off the ground - open campfires are not permitted. If glamping, a fire pit is provided outside all bell tents and the vintage caravan.

Aberdovey's vibrant seaside town can be reached in only three miles from the site. Spend the day roaming the pier with the kids before topping up your tan at the beach, or enjoy a donkey ride! There is access to the Wales Coast Path from the site too - ideal for treks through spectacular coastal scenery. Adventure seekers should head to Cadair Idris nearby too, with outstanding views from the summit.

You can bring an awning with you for touring but gazebos and pup tents are not permitted.

Things to do on site and in the Aberdovey area

The pretty seaside village of Aberdovey is just 3 miles away and offers good old-fashioned seaside fun. Kids love a day on the sandy beach and crabbing off the pier. Like any seaside village worth its salt, it offers great ice cream and fish and chips. There are also art and gift shops, cafes, great restaurants and three (yes, three) pubs to choose from!

If walking's your thing, then the Wales Coast Path can be accessed from site. Aberdyfi is about a 2 hour walk with stunning views over the Welsh hills and the Dyfi Estuary. For something more adventurous, the walk up nearby Cadair Idris (the second largest summit in Wales) is a rewarding climb.

For fun on two wheels, there's plenty of off-road choice for all levels and ages at Coed Y Brenin. The nearby Dyfi Forest has some awesome trails, and the Mawddach Trail offers a family-friendly and flat cycling option! For road cycling, there are some great routes from the site. Or for the more adventurous, Dyfi Bike Park (15 minutes) is the place to go for downhill thrills!

Jump on the Cambrian Coast railway line at Aberdyfi or Machynlleth and enjoy the breathtaking scenery as it hugs the Cardigan bay coast line all the way to Pwllehi - why not stop off at Barmouth or Harlech Castle?

Or take a step back in time with the famous steam trains on the Tal-Y-Llyn railway line and stop off at Dolgoch for a very pretty walk to the waterfalls.

Other recommended places to visit nearby are:

  • The market town of Machynlleth - market day is Wednesday
  • Corris Caverns and Craft Centre
  • Visit Dyfi Distillery for award-winning craft gin
  • RSPB Nature Reserve
  • Osprey spotting (and more) in the Glaslyn Valley
  • Myths and legends at King Arthur's Labyrinth.
