2 night stay Recommends site
Medium Tent - Large Overflow Field Pitches (Field 2) Aug 2025 Loved our stay, it's the 3rd time of visiting. I would say there definitely needed to be more cleaners on site, the toilet bins were overflowing with paper towels, the skips were over flowing with smelly rubbish.
Definitely not as clean as last year when we visited. We had the best time as a family and love it here. Just would have been nice if it was cleaner.
Weekend camping Recommends site
Medium Tent - Family Playground Field Non Electric Pitches (Field 4) Aug 2025 Lovely stay would thoroughly recommend.
We camped in Field 4 which was great as we were near the kid's play area. The field has a gentle slope but there are some flat areas. Very convenient for the shower/ toilet block as well as pot washing, shop and games room. Take lots of 50p's.
On our first night we ate in the local pub the Red Lion. Food, was very good and not too expensive. However there was a pop up pizza (wood fired) stall at the campsite, also a breakfast stall.
Lastly, my daughter loved the peacocks and alpacas.
Field 2 is definitely the place to stay if you have a tent Medium Tent - Large Overflow Field Pitches (Field 2) Aug 2025 A very well run camp site, clean with good facilities including a small shop, laundry facilities, fridge and freezer.
Some options for toilet and shower facilities, individual adult only showers, individual toilets and wash basins for privacy. Otherwise the usual row of individual showers and separate toilets. Very clean. We stayed on field 2 which is huge and flat, this field is not open all the time. There is another field which is sloping. and is open as a regular field. There is a separate area for caravans.
We had never camped before and will definitely be back.
The Druid Inn in the village is walkable and has a very nice local gin and great food. Great walks from the campsite to the Nine Ladies Bronze Age stone circle. We walked to Stanton on Peak and had a welcome drink at The Flying Childers. Definitely recommend the site.
Great campsite and facilities, good location Recommends site

Medium Tent - Large Overflow Field Pitches (Field 2) Aug 2025 Just returned from our stay at Barn Farm.
I keep returning to this site because it is always very clean, and the grounds are immaculate.
The site often has a pop up Pizza stall, Breakfast van every morning and I think on one visit a pop up bar.
Located close to Matlock, Bakewell and Carsington water.
Alpacas on the farm and Peacocks roam the site, also 2 very unusual white Peacocks.
We loved our visit and I'm sure will be returning again

Fabulous campsite that is worth recommending to everyone Recommends site
Medium Tent - Large Overflow Field Pitches (Field 2) Aug 2025 We have had a fantastic experience. The facilities are nice and clean, and the hard work on maintenance shows.
Not only the well-prepared campers but also the casual campers can enjoy the beautiful and peaceful environment. You can do your cooking or buy some delicious pizzas for dinner. A decent breakfast can be purchased on-site. You can walk or hike near the campsite and enjoy the beautiful scenery. As a dog owner, we are so happy that dogs are welcome.
The staff on site are friendly and helpful. It is worth visiting and staying.
Family camping weekend in Derbyshire Recommends site
Medium Tent - Large Overflow Field Pitches (Field 2) Aug 2025 The campsite is located in Birchover, not far from Matlock.
The joining instructions were very good. It was fairly easy to find although the Sat-nav took us down a bit of a dirt track. I think that was called Birchover Lane. Ignore this and just carry on. It's not much further and better roads. The emails and information we received before we arrived were timely and informative. We had no problem locating the site.
We were met by very friendly lady who explained the layout of the site to us and gave us a site map. We were a family of 12 staying in 4 tents. We booked field two so that we could all be together. This worked extremely well, and we had plenty of space for all of our cooking facilities and BBQ. We used the adult only showers which unfortunately were a little bit cold. The showers in the toilet block, however, were lovely and warm.
The weekend that we stayed a wood fired pizza van and a breakfast butty van were on site for some of the time. We didn't use any of the other facilities, but we had plenty of space for the grandchildren to play football and cricket which was enough for us. We visited Gulliver's Kingdom which was about a 20 minute drive from the campsite. We also had dinner at the Druid's Inn on the Saturday. It was a bit expensive but the homemade food was lovely. It also sold Hawkstone lager which went down well with the men in our party.
In summary, this was a lovely weekend in a beautiful part of the countryside, and well worth the money we paid. We will definitely return.
Great family site Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches (Field 1) Aug 2025 Lovely site with ample space, clean with well appointed facilities. The food trucks at the weekend for butties and pizza were great.
Wow Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches (Field 1) Jul 2025 One of the most beautiful, well cared for, well equipped sites that we have had the pleasure of staying at.
The site is maintained to such a high standard and is set in the most gorgeous scenery. We camped with a 1 year old and 3 year old and found there to be plenty of entertainment scattered around that we weren't even expecting. The site owners had provided so many things to make the stay comfortable such as a games room, air bed plug point, play park, food vans (on set nights) we feel thoroughly spoilt. knowing now how wonderful it was. I would happily have paid double and we will be returning annually, next time bringing friends!
Excellent site Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Jul 2025 Warm welcome and all staff were so helpful and accommodating, they went beyond their duties to make sure I was all set up and settled in. The site is immaculately clean, well positioned in the Peak District with footpaths leading from the site onto Stanton moor.
The site caters for everyone and every holiday vehicle etc (caravans, camper vans, tents, trailer tents, tent in a box. I would definitely recommend the site and can't wait to revisit next year.
Top marks! Recommends site
Medium Tent - Family Playground Field Non Electric Pitches (Field 4) Jul 2025 Was really surprised with how much thought had gone into the facilities at the campsite.
Plenty of pot washing areas, drinking water areas, loads of individual shower rooms which we so clean! Toilets lovely and clean. Loads of bins around the site for rubbish, games room, table tennis and netball outside for kids. Was great! The peacocks wandering around added to the experience. Lovely walks nearby and pubs.
Overall lovely, clean quaint and quiet campsite! We stayed on the family field and no noise after 10.30, which everyone adhered to.

Small Tent - Large Overflow Field Pitches (Field 2) Jul 2025 Our weekend couldn’t have been better!
When we first arrived and saw how busy it was (and how much busier it got) my heart sank but we had a great weekend! We camped at the bottom of the field where it was flat and we were far enough away from the music to hear it but for it not to be intrusive. When the music ended and things came to an end, the site quietened almost immediately.
The staff were amazing: friendly, patient and SO hardworking and the attention to cleanliness was excellent.
Our children loved all the activities, the ‘train’ being a particular hit, a brilliant add-on from last year!
Thank you, thank you Barn Farm. Another brilliant weekend.
