Beautiful site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 This is a lovely site and the location is perfect. We stayed for 4 nights and the kids loved playing in the river. Bethan was friendly on arrival and helped with some questions we asked. We camped in one of the top fields and the views were great.We would definitely stay here again, but if there was one thing I had to be picky about it was the walk to the showers. There is a toilet block and washing facilities at the bottom end of the site but there are no showers. Other than that it is a beautiful site and we will be staying again in the future!
An absolute gem
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 What a brilliant site this is, plenty of space and you can choose your pitch. A beautiful little stream runs one side of it and the steam railway the other. The dog run is a great little extra. Site was very well kept and lovely and clean - and this all happens seamlessly without disturbance which is a credit to the team. Little shop and hire of fire pit, they really got it all - we will be back for sure!

Motorhome - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Great site, with amazing views. Well drained and flat pitches.
Lots of water pipes and great hot water at the washing station
The only downside was the proximity to the showers, but otherwise great site. Will definitely go back.
Lovely site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 I booked this site back in January for a hiking event. I decided to add an extra night which was a Thursday. When I arrived I was the only one on site. I pitched on the furthest field I could go. It was very quiet apart from the running river behind me. Very scenic.
The site is very clean and well maintained. Staff pleasant although I only saw a male the whole time. The only thing I will moan about is no shower block near the top end. Just toilets. Its quite a long walk to them. No group bookings allowed, but we were a organised hiking group which is accepted.
The train station is literally next door. Local pub is about 20 minutes walk away and Bala is about 10 minutes drive.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Absolutely loved it here, staff were very friendly, helpful and always around if needed. Everywhere is extremely clean and well maintained, great little park for kids, plenty of toilets and pot washing facilities. I particularly loved waking up to the sound of the baby lambs and sheep. I can't wait to go back again.
Lovely campsite, will definitely be back soon.
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 Fantastic campsite, beautiful scenery with a little river flowing alongside. Toilets and facilities were spotless. I recommend this site and I will be back again in the near future.

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 Really nice campsite we went for a none electric grass pitch-up. There are no defined pitches apart from a series of hard standing pitches.
Facilities were really good but could use more showers in the only other toilet block as it’s a bit of a walk depending on where your staying and the weather, we had storm Dave to contend with.
The only other opinion I can give that the owners of this camp ground may want to consider is to ask those campers in tents to refrain from using the hard standing pitches, as this is so appreciated to those of us in larger vans to not get stuck in the grass and mud.

Quiet & peaceful campsite
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Mar 2026 We had a really lovely stay at Bwch yn Uchaf.
On arrival, Gareth was friendly and welcoming, taking the time to ask about our journey and making us feel at ease straight away. He explained that we could park on any of the fields, which gave a nice relaxed feel to the place. We chose a spot near the stream, which turned out to be perfect.
Although the playground was being revamped during our visit, so the swings weren’t available. Our 7-year-old still had a great time paddling and playing in the stream, which more than made up for it.
The location is excellent. It’s only about 30 minutes from Portmeirion and just a 5-minute drive to Bala and the lake, so it’s ideal whether you want to explore or just stay on-site and unwind. The campsite itself was clean, peaceful, and surrounded by beautiful mountain views.
If there was one small improvement, it would be having a simple map on arrival showing local walks or nearby places of interest. That would have been a nice touch.
We visited out of season, so unfortunately didn’t get to see the small railway running, but that just gives us another reason to come back.
Overall, a great stay and we would definitely return.
Great setting for a great site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Oct 2025 Stayed as a family of 3 with a dog for 2 nights.
The site is beautifully placed, with clean and easy to reach facilities. It has a perfect little dog run area alongside the stunning stream. Check in was easy and we had the option to pitch anywhere.
A lovely and quiet location, only 10-15 minutes from Bala town and the lake.
Will definitely be back. Thank you so much!
Lovely site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2025 Was a lovely site with some incredible views. As a young, solo, female camper I felt very safe and site owners were lovely upon arrival. Would recommend also for families and will definitely be back.

Great weekend with friends
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2025 We had a great weekend at the campsite.
We travelled down from Leeds late on the Friday and traffic was terrible, so we missed the check in time. The host was very friendly when I called and we were able to check in late which we really appreciated!
Facilities were clean and in good location for the campsite. Local pub was just 16 min walk away and really nice also :)
Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a campsite in the area.
Quiet and dark - just how I like it

Everything was clean. The washing up sinks included.

Fab campsite
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 Just returned from here, brilliant location 5 mins from the lake. Went on a steam train that stops right outside the entrance, very clean site, noise was kept to a minimum after 10 o'clock.
Only 1 thing, which is nothing to do with owners, we wanted to go to the shallow brook but nearly everyone there was a large group with 2 German Shepherds loose, so I could not take my dogs down there.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 I've stayed at a few campsites, but this one hands down is by far the best.
My dog loved it, she loves swimming and with there being a river running down the length of campsite with varying depths and large rocks to jump off, she was in her element. There is also a dog run which is more than enough for your dog to wear themselves out. The river also runs down the side of the dog run.
The site was immaculate, facilities where spotless and well maintained. People were respectful of the 10pm curfew which was cool. The price point for staying here is unbeatable and shows a level of integrity. I often feel ripped off with most campsites, accessing the outdoors should not cost what a cheap holiday abroad would cost, so a big thank you for your pricing.
I'm really good at moaning, but I just can't find anything to complain about. Thanks guys.
