Motorhome - All Weather Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2025

Stayed at St Helena's for a long weekend recently. Have to say that we really enjoyed our stay there. The site is well laid out and well maintained. There are service points close by for electric and water. The staff/management were very helpful, friendly and accommodating and there was a nice sense of community about the site, with many pitches appearing to belong to permanent residents, who were very welcoming. For those who enjoy what West Yorkshire has to offer, the location is perfect. Leeds, Bradford, Harrogate and Ilkley are all close by as is Leeds/Bradford Airport. The site is secure, easy to reach and although close by to the main road networks, feel like you are in the "country". There are also supermarkets, restaurants and pubs within a short driving distance. As with other reviews, the toilet blocks are dated, hence 4 stars. But don't be put off by this as they are well maintained. We will definitely be returning.

Site's response

Phillip, thanks for taking the time to review the site its really appreciated. We agree that the toilet block is due a refurbishment, but alas being a small family firm we don't have the budget, although we are completing some small updates and decorating. We pride ourselves on the toilet blocks cleanliness, so are really pleased that you have commented on how well it is kept.

VW-Type Campervan - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2025

Lovely guy greeted us and let us pitch up early on the Sunday. But weather turned very windy. Bins were overflowing and never got emptied during my time there (only 2 days) was pleasantly surprised at having a full bath and bathroom in the facilities block. Worst negative was aircraft noise from 6am all day Until late evening.

Site's response

Hi Steve Our recycling bins are emptied every Tuesday and our general waste bins every Wednesday, I have checked your booking and the Bin Men's schedule (Veolia) and found that the dates you were on park, was when there was a delay in waste disposal due to mechanical failure of the Bin Wagon (the hydraulic rams failed). I can only apologise that our bins were overflowing due to the delay and that we agree that having bins overflowing is unpleasant.

Peaceful, great location

Motorhome - All Weather Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2025

1st impression wasn't good. When we arrived, we called the number that lifted the barrier but when we got through, there was nobody in the office, so we called the number, no answer. We had no clue what to do, so just drove round the park until we found a spot. If you're not going to answer the number that you provide, then please include instructions including the pitch number in the confirmation email. The site and facilities are okay.

Site's response

Dear Alison, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback on our out-of-hours check-in process. I'm glad to hear that the barrier operated correctly and allowed you into the park. Firstly, I would like to apologize for the difficulty you experienced in getting through on the phone. We do our best to answer every call immediately, but sometimes we may be assisting another customer. Please be assured that we always try to call people back as soon as we are available. For late arrivals, pitch numbers are clearly displayed in the office window, and a large metal park plan is attached to the office wall to enable self-check-in. Following your valuable feedback, we have now altered our welcome letter to explicitly state the check-in procedure for late arrivals. In addition to the duty manager's number, we have also added an emergency mobile number to offer further assistance to customers who may be struggling with the out-of-hours check-in process. If you or any of our customers anticipate requiring a late check-in and are concerned about the self-check-in procedure, we always welcome a call during office hours. We will be more than happy to provide your allocated pitch number and directions to your pitch in advance. Sally
