A lovely site by the river on a flat surface for motorhomes, with full facilities electric water and waste and a pub/restaurant across the road. There were a lot of walks and places to visit to close by. Hartington is a lovely little village with a couple of pubs there also. The site is on the river and is ideal for children paddling as it is not very deep. There is a good dog walking field too.

We stayed here for 7 nights. The facilities are very clean and well maintained. Friendly, helpful staff and a handy little shop! The site is perfect for families, as long as you're staying in the fields on the same side as the main reception. There are pitches on the other side of the road. I'd hate to try and cross the road with small children as it's quite busy and there are no footpaths. We had electric and stayed in the top field. Our pitch was directly alongside the road which meant we had a fair bit of traffic noise. This didn't bother us, but if you think it would bother you then request a pitch as far away from the road as possible. Would recommend and would stay here again.

Many thanks for your great review, we are pleased to read you enjoyed your time, just so you know when people book they do know where the Meadow field is so its there choice to camp over there and walk back over to use the facilities, lots of campers love the freestyle feel over there, kind regards Wayne & Team.

We rented a fully serviced garden pitch for 8 nights, as we have 2 dogs, but arrived to find we had no garden, it was just hardstanding. This was quite disappointing as we had paid the extra, but didn't moan as we are not like that. The site is nice and clean with decent facilities and until the 2nd/3rd August, didn't feel overcrowded. When it did get busy, you noticed people disrespecting the site like dog mess, litter and dirty toilets/showers, which is a shame because it is a great campsite. We would definitely like to come back next year and hopefully, we can have a garden this time for our dogs to sit.
Site's response
Hi Michelle, Many thanks for your review, pitch 23 does have a garden grass area but this is not enclosed, something we are doing in September so you are enclosed. The Campsite does get busy in the Summer Holidays with families all enjoying the campsite, we are on the go all the time trying to keep our Campsite as clean and tidy as we possible can but sometimes guests don't treat the facilities with the respect they deserve and keep them as they found them. We look forward to welcoming you back next year, kind regards Wayne & the Team.

Bank House Farm is a great site which we will definitely visit again. Staff were welcoming and helpful on arrival and the pitches were well maintained. The toilet and shower facilities were spotless at all times. The visiting pizza van on Saturday night was a lovely addition to our stay.

My husband and I chose a garden pitch at Bank House Farm and it could not have been more perfect! We were able to peg the dogs safely and securely with their own space and we had the privacy of our own little back garden! It was a delight. There is also a wonderful dog exercise field, and the humans were well looked after too! With a fantastic pub on the doorstep and a shop well stocked with goodies, we didn't want for anything. The views were spectacular on approach and within five minutes of arriving, I announced I didn't plan on leaving! Well done to the top team for making it the highlight of our holiday.

We ended up at this campsite because our other one was unfortunately cancelled - we are so glad we had to make the change! What a fantastic site. The facilities are excellent, really clean and well maintained. They had everything you could possibly need. The shop is well stocked. The wardens were really friendly and helpful. The pub across the road is nice. The walk into Hartington is lovely and we had a great meal at the Devonshire Arms. We will definitely return.

Bank House Farm is a perfect spot for relaxation. Such a quiet and well thought out site, it's a peaceful haven with a pub at the end of the driveway. Plenty to do in the area too. Friendly wardens and a convenient dog field and plenty of space for children to play. We will be revisiting this gem.

Lovely park with great facilities. Pizza on the Friday was amazing. Good location for hiking to Thor's Cave. Only small thing was they ran out of soap on the Sunday morning and wasn't refilled before we left at 12. Definitely would go back!

Great place to camp at, toilets and showers extremely clean. Fridge and freezer on site for campers use, pot washing area very good. The only down side for me (because of a bad knee, so not the campsite's fault) was the very steep hill you have to climb when you walk back to your tent in the top field after every visit to the facilities. Some steps back to the field would have been nice. Food at the pub across the road was first class, we will recommend this place highly.

We only stayed for one night since it was just a stop along the way. We were sad to leave though. Lovely campsite surrounded by nature, super friendly, facilities were spotless. We had our dog with us and there's a large dog exercising field which was really nice. We'll definitely be going back.

Very lovely campsite. We had a large tent on the top field with electric hook-up. My only criticism was the field where you pitched, the ground was not totally flat, slight slope. Wasn't too much of a problem and we just got on with it, was just careful when we put things on the table. Toilets, showers, pot wash immaculate for the first 5 days and then the weekenders arrived. Not cleaning out showers, not flushing toilets and leaving toothpaste and soap all over the sinks. Obviously, this was not the site's fault and they did their best to keep things clean. Would definitely recommend this site but would probably go Sunday to Thursday and leave Friday morning. All in all, had a good time and would visit again.

Thanks Deborah for reviewing us, pleased you had a great time. Sorry about the niggles but as you say, you still enjoyed yourselves. Kind regards, Wayne & Team.

Outstanding staff and very good facilities, mixed feelings about location. I really want to recommend this location, the staff were outstanding. There are some things that would stop me referring it though. "Riverside" location - it absolutely is riverside, but not for 95% of campers. The dog field - not available during our stay, I was told it would be ready the next day, but there was a huge hole in it. It's a little thing, and I understand work needs to happen, but there was no warning of this and I was hoping to be able to let my dogs off the lead like they advertise. The road. I know this isn't in the control of the camp owners but the road noise was unfortunately really bad for us. Quad bikes at 4 am, car traffic at 7am. The tractors were the least disruptive. For total transparency, our rent was roughly 10m from a 60mph road. It was really loud.
Site's response
Hi Sam, thanks for your review, unfortunately we had no prior notice of our builders coming in and digging the hole for our new Sceptic Tank, we had no option but to close the area off as we certainly did not want any children or dogs falling down the hole. It was open 2 days later. The road is not a 60mph road but a 30mph road. We are a Riverside location with 70% of our pitches being able to pitch on the Riverside. Kind regards Wayne & Team.

Location in a review is subjective, this site location suited our needs to explore. The site is well kept, clean and quiet. The toilet and shower blocks were some of the best I've used, very clean and well serviced. Check in was easy. The small reception had a selection of essentials, should you forget something. They stock a fair selection of gas cylinders including Camping Gaz. The pot washing facilities were very good with plenty of sinks and hot water. There are a couple of fridge freezers and coin operated washing machines and dryers. There is WiFi available too. Over the road just outside the gates there is a nice pub serving food and a great selection of drinks.

This campsite offers excellent value to campers with very generous pitch sizes, accompanied by excellent facilities (clean bathrooms, dedicated washing area etc) and a fully stocked shop on site with both necessities and luxuries. Some pitches are located right next to the country roads, which can be loud at all hours, but this is to be expected and didn't ruin our experience. Site is only a small drive from local trails and hikes, and isn't too far away from nearby villages.
