Lovely, clean and well kept site. Ideal location next to the river. Opposite the Manifold Inn and a bus stop right outside the campsite. Went on the bus to Hartington and also you can travel to Buxton or Ashbourne.

Very good facilities for a campsite, however, shower drains overflowed on the last day. Friendly staff, good location and a pub within walking distance. The shop had useful food and supplies.

We stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed our stay. We had a hard standing pitch next to the river with room for an awning to pitch on the side grass. The site overall was clean and tidy and the toilets/shower blocks are modern and kept clean to a good standard. There is a shop onsite for any essentials you might have forgotten. You can rent a firepit for £10 with a £20 SD plus purchase for the wood. They also had food vans both nights, fish and chips Friday and pizza oven on the Saturday. Location was great, we walked the Hartington circular walk with the dog, the only bit we didn't like was walking on the main road for a bit but it was quiet when we went out. Overall, a lovely stay and would go back and recommend.

Me and my husband just returned from our weekend here and we had a lovely time! We arrived late on Friday due traffic/bad accidents. We did try and ring but we got no answer, but checking in was okay when we got there. We were on the field that was just next to the campsite. It was big, flat and plenty of space for people, it was a bit of a walk to the toilet as that's next to reception and the Wi-Fi didn't stretch to that field (something I think should be mentioned, as we booked this campsite for the Wi-fi) but that wasn't a problem. There is a lovely pub right next to it that had good internet and did some amazing dinner/breakfast would really recommended. We spoke to the owner on our last day and he was so lovely, really talkative and you could how much he enjoyed running the campsite. The only downside we had was there was a 10pm - 8am noise curfew and it seemed a lot of people on that field didn't respect it. There was music, people talking loudly at around 11pm, which was quite unfair considering there was a lot of kids there; me and my husband don't go to bed early but the music kept us up for a long time. This isn't the owners fault, that's just camping and being near other people, so next time we come back, we will choose to stay in the closer field. Also it seems that the campsite is in the path of air traffic as quite a few airplanes would fly over quite a bit, so this might bother you if you're a light sleeper. The second field is also next to the main road, so you get woken up to tractors and cars driving past - again, none of this is the campsite's fault. All the toilets were clean, the washing up/water facilities were clean and good and the shop is fairly priced. The location is good if you want to adventure around the Peak District, the Dragons Back/Chrome Hill are about 10 minute drive away, Mam Tour is about 20 minutes away, Thor's Cave is close by, Bakewell is also close by, it's a good location if you can drive. Overall would love to stay again we had a pleasant and comfortable stay!

Had a lovely 2 night stay here. Location is great and being next to a pub was a massive plus. The food there was lovely and reasonably priced. Would definitely return.
Absolutely 1st class campsite

Absolutely 1st class campsite with so much pitch variation, from riverside, hill top, meadows, all centred around an excellently laid out amenities block with a small shop. The vanners looked very happy in the central hardstanding area, and the posh campers seemed to be loving the electric hook-up pitches. Water is very available at all corners of the site, grass is just right, green and lush but not too long. Right across the road from a fantastic pub for beer and food, dogs and kids are welcome. Amazing views, pleasant local short walks, and a great centre for cycling, walking, just being out in the country, or visiting the fabulous villages and attractions of The White Peak. Easy access from M6, A50, M1, A52 and A515 Ashbourne to Buxton roads. Really hospitable hosts and despite being a large busy campsite, we never felt crowded out.

Lovely well kept site with ample modern and very clean facilities. Once our booking had been changed to the main hardstanding area (my mistake), we had a very relaxed stay with no loud music etc. Dogs enjoyed the freedom (on long leads) of the large grass field, with many bins around the site emptied regularly. We will be back at some point in the future.

Fantastic campsite, great location and with spotless facilities. Manifold Inn just opposite which does great food and a great little shop on site for basics, will definitely be back.

We had a lovely spot to pitch along the river, called 'River Bend', which meant we could admire the mayflies dancing in the evening light, and in the night, we heard the squeak of an otter as it passed by. The site offers the opportunity to hire out a firepit along with wood and kindling, which we jumped at and had fun (eventually!) managing to get a fire blazing. We really enjoyed having a peaceful evening reading next to the fire, and the washing area and showers and toilets were to a high standard. It was also really appreciated that the taps to get drinking water from were regularly spaced around the campsite, so it was easy to fill up heavy water storage containers without having to lug them too far. The owners were helpful too, we'd definitely camp here again!

Place was lovely but facilities terrible for those who had non electric grass tent pitches. Portable toilets without toilet rolls and water! Everyone who booked electric had everything they needed.

Facilities are some of the best we've seen…incredibly well kept pitches. Pub over the road is a blessing and would also recommend both dinner and breakfast...👍

Great site, lovely clean showers and toilets. Large pot wash area, washing and drying machines, and also the use of fridge/freezer. Nice to have a shop on site too. The only downside was there is no children's play area, other than that we have no complaints.
A great find

Everything was nice and pleasant and very well looked after. I have just one thing to say: missing toilet facilities in the field (over the bridge and no electricity), the nearest toilet was about 300 m away. Imagine in the night you wake up needing the loo...etc Otherwise very happy.

A really lovely site to stay. The site was friendly and tidy and there is lots of things to do nearby. They had a pop up pizza stall the first night we arrived, which was lovely. We popped to the pub over the road and had a drink and they even allowed us to take a couple of bottles back to the campsite.

The site was organised and well thought out. All facilities were clean and well maintained, as were the pitches and grounds. My only point is personally I would like to be able to adjust the temperature of the showier along with the height of the shower head, I understand the reasons behind the push button arrangement and fixed heads but that would be my preference. The site is on the smaller side and does not have things like a bar or pool, but the onsite shop sells the essentials and there is a pub just by the entrance to the site. All in all, a pleasant and relaxing site offering a good base to many of the local attractions.
Very happy campervanners!

Just got back and what a campsite! Stopped in our classic campervan on a riverside hard pitch. Perfect location and lovely and peaceful with lots of ducks for neighbours until the weekend. Excellent facilities. Worth going up the hill for and there is a bus stop right outside the site gates to Ashbourne or Buxton. Wood fired pizza van on site on Saturday and the site shop was well stocked. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend a stay and will return .
