Nestled in the beautiful Hope Valley area of the Peak District, Laneside Caravan Park offers a great base for days of hiking and exploring. Welcoming tents and tourers, there are grass and hardstanding pitches with adult only areas too, plus a shepherd's hut and static caravans for glampers. We did not use the toilet and shower facilities as we use our own on a fully serviced pitch. The site itself is well situated and well organized. Code on entry and exit, so more secure than most. Easy walking to a number of pubs and great location for walking in Edale and Castleton. Site facilities of food van and shops is also better than most. We also have a dog so a good site for him as well.

Fantastic site in a perfect location for the high peaks. Great amenities within a 5 minute walk. Hosts were lovely and extremely helpful. Would highly recommend to everyone, plus dog owners. Thank you for a great stay.

Gorgeous site, well run by friendly, helpful staff. Always accommodating to our little needs and wants. Facilities are great too and new shower block makes showering a pleasure. Well placed for access to walking straight from the site and other walks further afield. Hope and Castleton have pubs and shops galore all within walking distance. Beer festival and the annual Hope Show are always winners. Brekkie van on site does the best fry-up for miles. Chippy van visits on a Saturday night too. We have just had the best 10-night caravan holiday and booked again for next year, which will be our 5th or 6th consecutive year at Laneside. We also pop in for weekend getaways at other times in the year. Highly recommended.

This is a well maintained campsite, with new and very clean washbasins, showers and toilets. There were covered washing facilities for pots and pans too, with very hot water. There was plenty of space for our large tent, and we had plenty of room to park our car next to our tent. The welcome was friendly. Our plot was dry and level, and we had no trouble in hammering our tent pegs into the ground. The site is a short walk from Hope, and there was a longer countryside walk that continued on to Castleton. A beautiful campsite setting. Unfortunately, our pitch was close to the main road to Hope, and despite a high and thick hedge separating site from road, road noise at our pitch, two from the hedge, still disturbed our sleep.

We stayed in a tent, mother and daughter (15), for two nights. Positives. Great walking routes are close by and the caves are approximately two miles away if you fancy a visit. There are many places to eat within a few minutes walk or a short drive, and takeout can be delivered to the site. For those unable to travel by car, Hope Station is a short walk, so accessible by train. Staff were friendly and helpful. We were greeted at the barrier and shown to our pitch and told a little about the local area, which was really helpful. The pump for our airbed wouldn't work, and the staff allowed me to use theirs instead of purchasing one. We always felt safe on site as there is a barrier and code system in place. The site is clean and tidy, and although busy, the toilets and showers were always immaculate. The food van (serving breakfast) was a bonus and not too expensive. There's a sports pitch next to the site for children to run around and play rather than on the site itself. The dog walking field is also a nice added extra. Negatives. Our pitch was directly under one of the large security lights for the site, which was like sleeping with 'the big light on' and our tent had no blackout. Should we return, I'd ask for a different spot (or maybe remember an eye mask). Situated next to a busy road that does have large wagons/cars passing through the night and early morning, so can be a little loud (bring earplugs). Would I recommend? Yes!
Fabulous site, we will be back!

We love this campsite and this was our 4th visit. It's location is great for walking and just up the road are a number of pubs. The Cheshire Cheese has fabulous food. The Curry Cabin is probably one of the best Indian (well, Kashmir) restaurants that we have ever been to. It is not far away from Castleton either, should you wish to visit a cave or two. The people who run the campsite are fab! They are so friendly and helpful. The facilities are spot on too, modern and always clean. Honestly can't recommend it highly enough.

All the services and facilities are really good and the site is very clean. There is a big downside for me. It's located next to the A road, so come 5am and HGV traffic is massive, literally every 5 minutes there is trailer banging on the potholed road. If you book this site, make sure to request pitch on the farthest end to sleep well. Hot water in showers can be reduced during busy period.
A good location with fantastic and clean facilities

Had a great stay in a lovely part of the country, close to stunning walks. The site was in a great location, lovely and clean with plenty of facilities. The village nearby has a nice couple of places to eat and drink.

This was my first time camping with a campervan, I had only picked up the van a couple of hours prior to arriving. The lady who met me at the barrier was friendly, so kind and helpful in escorting me to the pitch, explaining and helping me pitch, as my first time. The toilet and shower block was very clean and the park very nice and tidy, shame I could not stay longer.

We absolutely loved our stay. Was really impressed with the greeting when we arrived where we were shown directly to our pitch. Before arrival we had a really helpful email listing nearby walks and places for food and more. We followed the advice and enjoyed a fabulous Indian takeaway delivered to the site, and visited the recommended fish and chip shop the second night which was also excellent. The site was clean with really friendly and helpful staff. Oh and the showers were awesome! Best shower I've had in a long while and even better than my one at home. There is a rule of quiet after 22.30 which everyone seemed to do and the site became really peaceful. I will definitely be returning.

Ideal location for going off exploring/hiking. Really handy to have a train station so close as well, we were able to pop into Manchester for the day. The site has very recently built shower and toilet facilities which are great. Their old shower and toilet facilities are still there, and could really do with modernising, but I guess this is on the agenda over the coming years. I enjoyed the intimate size of the site, and the staff were very helpful. We went for an adult only part of the site, which put is very close to the main road. Traffic seems to run past throughout the night, so ear plugs advised. Overall, I'd stay again, but I'd pick a better spot away from the road.
A delightful 4 night stay at Jack's Shepherd Hut

My partner and I recently enjoyed a delightful 4-night stay at Jack's Shepherd Hut by the river Noe in Laneside Caravan Park, Hope. From the moment we arrived, we were charmed by the cosy, inviting atmosphere of the hut. The accommodation was impeccably clean and thoughtfully arranged, which immediately made us feel at home. The bed was incredibly comfortable, allowing us to rest well each night after our days of exploring. We were also impressed by the amazing shower, offering all the comforts of home amidst the rustic setting. One of the highlights of our stay was the soothing sound of the river Noe running nearby. It provided a calming soundtrack to our mornings and evenings and added to the overall tranquil ambiance of the location. Jack's Shepherd Hut is perfectly situated for those looking to hike in the Hope Valley and beyond. Each day, we set out on different trails, all easily accessible from the park, and were continually amazed by the stunning scenery and natural beauty the area has to offer. The staff at Laneside Caravan Park were incredibly friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. Before we arrived, they provided us with useful information and recommended great local attractions, dining spots, and activities. Their suggestions helped us make the most of our time in Hope Valley. If you seek a cozy, comfortable, and conveniently located accommodation to explore the Peak District's beauty, this is the perfect choice.

Laneside is a busy caravan site and has areas for tents and campervans. It's quite busy so it's probably not your cup of tea if you're looking for a quiet break in the countryside. The showers and toilets are new and cleaned regularly, there was a queue for showers at peak time, but that's probably more to do with the number of people on site. It's an easy way from Hope or, if you want to stay on the site, there's a fish and chip van comes on a Saturday night and there's a breakfast van on a couple of mornings I think. It's supposedly a quiet site but not sure the people behind us knew that, based on the noise after midnight.

Great campsite with good facilities. Lovely location too. The only slight negative was the road noise. If you can get a pitch to the rear of the site then it's not an issue. I'd still visit again though despite the road noise. The village is lovely.

Great location! Within walking distance of the small village with shops, bakery and a butcher, 3 pubs and a hotel which is a bonus. Plenty of walks to choose from, from 1 hour to as many hours as you feel like. There is a bus stop right outside the campsite, going to Castleton or the other direction to Chatsworth House. Whichever direction you go to, there will be something of interest for you. So many areas to visit and so many walks to discover. First time we have visited this area and we will definitely be back to discover more areas of beauty.
