You'll be just a stone's throw from the South Coast and at the gateway to spectacular Dorset. Rated 5 Pennant Platinum by the AA, the park is a haven for wildlife. There's extensive woodland onsite, where dogs can roam free, plus wildlife lakes and a river!

This site is perfect for a few days peace and quiet. The facilities are good and clean. The outside bar is beautiful and very popular. Most evenings a catering van visits so you can have pizza, fish and chips, burgers etc, no need for cooking. The location is great, Bournemouth and Christchurch are only 20 mins away.

Our recent stay at Back of Beyond started well. We were welcomed by a lovely woman from York! She was very attentive and knowledgeable. Bar service was very slow and quite limited for non alcoholic drinks, and the bar is only open until 8pm. There is nothing around the campsite so that's one to note. There is a site shop, again limited by choice and opening hours. The food service from outside caterers was great, again limited by time. The site, as the name suggests, is in the middle of nowhere, with no frequent public transport links. The showers were hot but dirty. I found myself cleaning the shower before using it, not really something you should do on a campsite of this rating. Sadly, the trip finished with a sour note. I had prepaid and told the shop staff about 2 guests I had coming for an hour or so in the evening of the following day. They advised that they needed to leave by 8pm. That was it. Tuesday evening came and I let my guest's car in through the barrier and also my Grandad's car. I subsequently let them back out… This was apparently very wrong and a whole safety issue (which I understand) however the abruptness and confrontation was unnecessary. I was told very rudely to refer to the welcome pack, which should have stated about visitor guidelines. It didn't, I follow rules and it wasn't stated. The park owner threatened to kick us off the site due to this. Thankfully, it was our last day and I was all packed up ready to go. There was no need for it. Unfortunately I won't be returning due to this, though the rest of the staff were nice.

Hi Ellie We were really shocked by this review as we normally score so highly with our guests. We looked into your booking and there are notes informing us that one of our team spoke to as you were seen letting several guests in and out of the park, breaking our terms and conditions. This included a couple of work vans and several people and other customers brought this up with us. We keep a very secure and quiet park and we are responsible for all guests who are on the park, so we simply can't have guests letting people in and out. If everyone did this, we would not have the quiet and peaceful park we promote. We do allow guests but they have to be booked in. It appears that you took offence to us bringing this up with you, sorry about that, but we take the safety of our park and guests very seriously. With regards to your other comments, the bar is only open until 8pm (last orders) as it's a bar for an early evening drink and not a late night bar, again to keep the peace and tranquillity. The campsite shop is open until 6pm week nights and 7pm at the weekend which seems pretty acceptable to us, late night supermarkets are available locally. Yes, Back of Beyond is off the beaten track however we have the New Forest, South Coast Beaches and Dorset Jurassic coast all in a stones throw. If you want a park close to a town, we are not the site for you and we do make this clear on our site. We are always open to constructive criticism but to say our showers are dirty is totally unfair. We have a vigorous daily cleaning regime and this is reflected by our customers feedback. I feel your review has been influenced by the offence you took to the incident but we simply cannot accept people using their barrier cards letting people in and out for the safety of guests and I am sorry you took offence to this. I hope you can understand where we are coming from.

We booked Back of Beyond so we could visit some of the New Forest. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly and shown our pitch which was ample space for our van. The amenities were clean and within an easy walk of our pitch. We settled in for the night and the site was quiet at night. Next day, we decided to go for a cycle ride in the New Forest. We cycled around Hurn Woods, lovely tracks but not the New Forest. In fact the New Forest isn't in cycling distance for your average cyclist. We were disappointed and had to take our motorbike to see the ponies and park. So if you are looking for a site that is easy cycling distance of the New Forest National Park, this isn't for you. But if you are looking for a clean, quiet site with a bar and some woods nearby then this is a nice place to stay. We left early and stayed the last night in the New Forest.

We are in Dorset and the New Forest is Hampshire, but it is a 45 minute cycle along the Castleman cycle path or a 10 minute car journey. However we have fantastic cycle paths, woodlands and country parks all in a short cycle from the park.Do come again.

Excellent, well run site. First class facilities, very well maintained. A good shop, a variety of visiting mobile catering vans and a friendly bar with good beer. What more could anyone possibly want?

Excellent location, truly peaceful and with a lovely bar area to socialise if you want to. Friendly staff and a very useful shop with quality products, and the visiting food suppliers were fabulous! Our dog loved the walk in the woods! We will definitely stay again.

Great adults only site. Nice and peaceful, very good for dogs, and plenty of room to manoeuvre your caravan onto pitch. Really nice staff, they meet you at gate and explain where your pitch is etc. The showers were spotless and the bar and shop are well stocked, plus there's a different food van each night. What more do you want!?

Fabulous site - the layout and location is superb - I'd give it 6 stars!! The toilet and shower facilities are beyond superb - nicer than my house! We took our VW T6 and booked hard standing which was excellent - pitches are a generous size. Would def stay there again - multiple times!

Lovely adult only site. It was so quiet, only the birds chirping broke the silence. The staff were very welcoming when booking in. There is a lovely bar area, where you can also have your hit of food from the various food vans that visit the site. The pitch we had was large and had its own picnic table which was a really nice touch. The facilities were all super clean. We went with our daughter and son in law and they stayed in the wild camping tent area, again this was a lovely place, they were set up looking over to the horses and by a stream. We will definitely go back and would most certainly recommend it to people that want a vacation that is quiet, stress free, really polite and helpful staff, super clean and well maintained facilities.

Perfect site, everything you need with bit of luxury - the shower facilities were gorgeous. Was great having the food vans visit, a real plus saving on cooking and a social bar. I'd feel comfortable staying here on my own! Location was ideal for cycling in the New Forest, trip on the little ferry at Keyhaven to Hurst Castle, Swanage coastal walk. One suggestion for this site (and indeed other sites) would be a secure cycle store, don't usually see these but would be useful. Otherwise, a perfect site! Thank you.

We loved our stay at this campsite. The pitch was large with AstroTurf under the tent (no muddy groundsheet). Nice outdoor bar area with heaters. Toilet facilities were excellent and clean. Lovely dog walk in Ashleigh Heath.

Back of Beyond is a first rate adults only site well situated for the New Forest and the South Coast. It is incredibly peaceful and quiet. The facilities are modern and spotless. Our pitch was AstroTurf which made pegging out the awning really easy. There is a shop and a bar - both well stocked and all of the staff are friendly and helpful. The various food vans visiting the site were great too. Thank you for a wonderful break - we will be back.

We have stayed at quite a lot of campsites since we bought our motorhome several years ago, and we had our favourite site until we stayed here! Everything was spotless, the staff were extremely helpful, and it was so peaceful walking through the woods with our dog. We would recommend this site to anyone who is interested in a lovely area, with very helpful staff. Thank you all for a lovely 2 day break. Definitely will be returning.

Absolutely loved our stay at Back of Beyond. The site is immaculate, staff friendly and helpful. Shower blocks are up there with the best, real pleasure to use. We had a dog with us and he thoroughly enjoyed his numerous walks around the area. Would really recommend you try this site, we’ll certainly be going back.

Beautiful campsite, excellent pitches with wooden seating, and the bar in the evening was such a bonus! Would have been nice if it stayed open a bit later, the barman didn't seem too happy to be there. We had a lovely pizza on the Friday from the food wagon. Breakfast bap on Sunday morning wasn't the best quality, but saved on washing up. Perfect campsite for dog owners, we will definitely be back! The showers were amazing!

Monty's bar is only open for a few hours early evening as we are a Tranquil Park and we have to consider our other guests that do not wish to use the bar. During the busy summer weekends, we plan to extend the opening times by an hour. We hope to see you at BoB again soon!
