Glamping at it's best!

Wow, what a gem of a place. Perfect location for my 2 young sons and I to stay as so close to Twycross Zoo and Conkers Adventure Park. We absolutely loved the hot tub, it was boiling hot on arrival. We also loved toasting marshmallows on our fire pit and dipping them in chocolate, it was the perfect ending to a wonderful day. The Pod was exceptional with a TV, cute kitchen area and a lovely bathroom. Furthermore, waking up to a view of the gorgeous cows and beautiful surroundings was a dream. Will definitely visit again and for longer and next time bring our friends to stay too! Thank you to Dominic the lovely lad who helps run the place with his family who made us so welcome.

Extraordinary experience!

We stayed in Ethelbald with a hot tub just at the corner of the lodge and it was absolutely fantastic. My husband and I had a well rested 2 nights there. We had a barbecue and the hot tub was awesome and so refreshing. All the basic things needed are in the lodge. Dominic was so helpful and you can contact him or his mother Sarah if there's anything you need and they will be there to help you out. There are DVDs there as well and books for kids. It is also pet friendly. We will definitely come back.

The cutest getaway

Lovely getaway for the night with my boyfriend for Valentine's Day. Very easy to locate key for pod, lovely cupcakes made, chocolates and a single rose on the table when we walked in. Hot tub and views were amazing and so unbelievably quiet - literally felt like the only people there. Friendly staff (sorry that we didn't catch your name) and would love to come back again in summer. Definitely recommend. Thank you for an amazing stay!

Great little pod, perfect for a night away with the kids

Perfect for our first time glamping in a pod. Great location near to tea rooms, pubs and attractions. Easy to book, plenty info given up front and quick to respond to queries. Lovely, clean pod and plenty of space for kids to run around.

Family peace and already rebooked!

We recently stayed here with our little family. It's quiet and peaceful, we enjoyed having our morning coffees out on the deck. We used to live on a golf course a couple of years ago and so this really became a nostalgic feeling to wake up in the empty fields and early sunrises! The kids loved it too, being able to run freely and we could see them clearly! We enjoyed the comfort and warm feeling of the pods so much that we've rebooked for two more nights, for our 19 year anniversary! But this time, we've booked the hot tub and no kids! Can't wait 😝

Weekend away

Lovely place! So quiet for a nice getaway. Dom was lovely and came round to show us how to use the hot tub etc. Everything was easy to figure out and keys were left and easily accessible. Pod itself was nice, personally we found the bed uncomfortable so used the sofa mats under the bed mat the second night, which was much better. We also forgot body wash so had to find a shop. If you are booking, for a heads up, there are no soaps etc included, just washing up liquid. Hot tub was so nice, defo worth the extra to get one. The only thing we would have liked was the fence to come down a little further for a bit more privacy, as when next door were out the front, they could see into the tub. Only a short walk away down the lanes to a local pub, which was nice too. We also got some sausages from the farm shop, which were lovely!! Overall we loved it and now know exactly what to take, can't wait to book again.

Everything was perfect except the mattress

We had a lovely stay. Good location, hot tub was great and all really clean. Only issue we found was we felt that the mattress was terrible, like sleeping on a rock, which is a shame as everything else was great.

Lovely weekend get away.

Really nice stay, very clean and staff are very welcoming. We enjoyed watching the cows in the field in front of us. It was a dog friendly location. Lots of lovely walks and welcoming pubs.

Amazing hosts, thank you!

We accidentally booked the wrong pod, however the hosts were extremely helpful and managed to help us sort our booking! Me and may partner stayed here over the weekend and it was beautiful! The facilities were amazing and I would absolutely come back.Thanks for having us and to Dom who was on hand to sort out any questions we had :)

Beautiful Place

Had a wonderful time at this holiday site. Very calm and peaceful. Beautiful views from the pods , lovely to see the nature. Facilities were great. They offer dvds and board games to play. Would recommend and will definitely be staying again in the future :)

Relaxing night away

Very friendly staff/owners. Would 100% recommend to friends and will return in the near future. A well needed break, so relaxing.

Another lovely stay

Another lovely stay at Saxon Meadow. Beautifully clean and well equipped accommodation with games and dvds to borrow on site. The farm shop in the village has lovely produce, and The Queens Head pub serves lovely food and is walkable (10-15mins) from the site. Plenty of things to do off site in the area, zoo, steam train museum, theme park, farm, snow dome, cinema all a short drive away. Quiet site with lovely views even though you are not that far away from civilisation! Perfect for couples or families. Will return again 😀

Relaxing break

This is a lovely site. Very peaceful and relaxing. The staff were very helpful. Everything was as it should be and I would recommend it for couples or families.

Highly recommend

Stunning cabin to stay in with the hot tub and fire pit. Perfect for couples for a weekend getaway. Local pub is lovely and friendly. Cabin was well equipped and hot tub was already prepared for our arrival. Hosts were very helpful and easily contacted for more fire wood and more information about the local attractions. Highly recommend.

Lovely little getaway

Definitely a great place to stay and a reasonable cost. We loved it. Just me and my wife for a night away. Was clean and quiet. This is not a bad thing but just a couple things to think about. Lighting for the hot tub area is needed - very dark at night. It is very dark there at night, so even if you wanted to sit outside or sit in the hot tub, some people may find it quiet scary that you can't see much. My wife wouldn't even go outside because it was that dark. 😂 The kettle does need to be descaled! 😂 This isn't a bad review it's just some advice from me. We really enjoyed it and we will be back for another visit soon.

Site's response

We do have extra lanterns for guests if you would prefer more light. We don’t over light as many people prefer less light pollution to enjoy the starry skies. Please ask me when you return for some more lanterns and we will happily supply. Hope you had a safe trip home and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Great little break

Perfect hot tub break, gate around is perfect for the dog! Location isn't as remote as similar places like this but lovely field view!

Perfect

Couldn't have asked for more. Extremely clean, everything you need, beautiful surroundings and they had even heated the hottub for arrival. Definitely recommended.

Relaxing break

Very impressed with Saxon Meadow. No hassle of retrieving our key and once we reached our wigwam, we were happy to find an already filled hot tub that had been preheating allowing us to jump straight in. The instructions of use could have been slightly clearer, however. The wigwam itself was lovely and very cosy and my 6 year old daughter loved bunking down for the night for a movie night. The facilities were excellent and the whole place was spotless. The only issue we did have was no prior knowledge of a major road closure from Tamworth to Saxon Meadow which caused us a significant detour

Our stay at Saxon Meadow July 2022

We had a fantastic stay at Saxon Meadow. I surprised my wife with an early birthday treat with our two children and we're blown away with the quality of the pods and the beautiful setting it sits in. Our pod had a wood-fired hot tub and thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in it. There are loads to do to keep the children entertained whether that's exploring the site, playing on the outdoor play equipment or relaxing in the communal games hut. I chose this site for lots of reasons but the main one was for its location as we planned to go to Twycross Zoo the following day (this is only 10 minutes from the site). Thank you so much for a wonderful and warm welcome, we will definitely be recommending it to our friends and family!

Fantastic

Great place in a lovely location. Superb host who was lovely and attended to our requests promptly. Nice selection of toys and games for the young ones in reception too. Recommend the Indian restaurant in the next village (menus in reception) if you want a night off cooking. Only downside, but can't be levelled at the site, is that some local kids use some of the nearby roads as a race track and are very noisy.

Peaceful long weekend

The owners were very friendly and helpful. The site was peaceful and quiet but still close enough to plenty of amenities.

Perfect setting and amazing pod, the standard of the park and facilities was excellent and exceeded our expectations!

Amazing stay at the Wigwam! The wigwam included everything you need for your stay. Location is beautiful. Great, helpful hosts. Very good price for everything that is included.

Valentine's getaway

Me and my boyfriend stayed for a night during a Valentine's getaway. Was super cosy and quiet, had really good vibes. The pod and hot tub were amazing! Would definitely recommend.
