A note from the site themselves...
We feel so lucky to have found this place and made it our home - and we love to share it with our guests! When we moved here from Edinburgh our aim was to create a haven for wildlife and visitors, as well as for ourselves and later, our growing family.
We fixed the house up as well as we could so we could live in it, and then set about buying the piece of land by the river and building the shepherds' huts. Once the sheep were relocated, wildflowers appeared as if by magic and wildlife moved in as if it had been just waiting in the wings for someone to create a home for it.
The meadow is now home to hares, frogs and toads, newts, badgers and foxes as well as many other smaller creatures.
Building the huts was a labour of love, Richard worked away to find the project then built the huts on the weekend whilst I'd look after our kids who are not as little anymore. After they were asleep, I remember taking the baby monitor and a head torch outside to get some painting done!
We were so proud when they were finally finished and in place - towing them down the track to the spot where they now live was a nerve-wracking day - we weren't sure if they'd still be in one piece when we got them there and there was a lot of winching backwards and forwards to get them just right.
They were the only shepherds' huts in North Wales when we welcomed our first guests in 2013. Everyone enjoyed the novelty of them, when "glamping" was hardly even a word. We've made a lot of improvements since the early days…the sauna is fabulous! Although we love having guests, I admit that we do like the winter when the huts are closed and we can enjoy the sauna too!

Shepherd's Hut - Snowdonia Shepherds' Huts Jul 2023
A nice, cozy and comfortable way to camp, with flushing private toilet and shower, a sauna and a firm but soft mattress to lay your head at night.
My kiddos loved it and we woke up feeling rested and relaxed each morning. My 9 year-old loved cooking in the outdoor kitchen. Falling asleep with the sounds of rain, a creek and the sheep was a memory we won't forget.
Perfect getaway

Shepherd's Hut - Snowdonia Shepherds' Huts Jun 2023
We had an amazing stay at Snowdonia Glamping Holidays. The Shepherds Huts were great!
We loved the outside kitchen and being able to watch sheep go by in the fields next to it. We even got to see Glow Worms on the recommendation of Hazel and they were amazing to see!!
We loved being able to switch off and spend time as a family, and the Shepherds Hut was the perfect setting for this!
Beautiful and wild

Shepherd's Hut - Snowdonia Shepherds' Huts Apr 2023
Beautiful, a wonderful place to be. If you are looking to escape the rat race, no internet and no phone, this place is magical.
We opted for the Shepherds Huts- they are just perfect for all weather conditions with the indoor log burners, so cosy!! Every morning we would swing open the hut doors and sit in bed with a coffee and watch the wildlife roam by.
Richard and Hazel were so helpful and friendly, and tell you all the best places to go depending on what you are into, for us it was paddle boarding in a beautiful mountain lake with the 3 peaks in the background. The town is only a 10min drive and a really good spot to grab something to eat. Try out the Alpine coffee shop!!
Overall truly fantastic, didn't want to leave!!
