About the site


This award winning caravan and camping park is located on spacious fields overlooking the Clwydian Mountain ranges and sits within an area of the Site of Norman Borough Rhuddlan, a Scheduled Ancient Monument - so truly a unique place to stay. The site offers 26 electric grass touring pitches with 16 amp hook ups for campervans, motorhomes and caravans. There are four adult only glamping pods that sleep two adults, located at the top of the campsite field where you can enjoy uninterrupted views of the stunning Clwydian mountain range. All of the glamping pods are ensuite with WiFi and are pet free. One of the luxury glamping pods has a wood fired Kikki bath, and another has a wood fired Hikki hot tub to enjoy the views. The peaceful and well maintained site has a rural feel, yet only a short walk into the village, you will find plenty of places to eat and drink. Only a ten minute drive to the beach in Rhyl or Prestatyn, with Snowdonia mountain ranges only an hour away. A friendly family run site where everyone receives a warm welcome when they arrive whether it is from Celia, Rob, Lewis or Owen or even one of their much loved sheep dogs It is perfect for anyone wanting peace and quiet in lovely surroundings with great facilities. The site is also the proud previous winner of the prestigious Visit Wales Gold Award! Up to two dogs are welcome to join you on the grass touring pitches, but must be supervised and on leads at all times. Open fires are not permitted. BBQs are allowed but must be raised off the ground.

Facilities here include three toilets and shower blocks, with washing up and communal area including double sink with hot water and, a communal fridge and freezer. Laundry service is also available, with same-day turnaround.

Plenty of water points and waste disposal points as well as recycling and waste bins. The 16 amp electric is run on a solar system providing a green offering to guests. WiFi is available in the pods only.

Picnic benches available for visitors and fire pits can be hired with logs available to buy. Fresh eggs are available to purchase onsite, and Rhuddlan village is just a short stroll from the site with a selection of pubs, shops, eateries, petrol station and more.

You will receive a warm welcome when you turn up as we want everyone to feel at home as soon as they arrive. We want to create a place that is friendly, welcoming, safe and most importantly, that people will want to come back to.

We pride ourselves on providing good, clean facilities along with keeping the site tidy and well kept that our guests can enjoy in the beautiful surroundings of where we live.

Wonderful stay at Abbey Farm. Fantastic service by the owner, so friendly and helpful. Toilets and showers were so clean, and the water lovely and hot. Honestly, can't fault the site, we had a brilliant holiday :)

FAQ

Your pitch will be available from noon until 10pm on arrival day. Please vacate your pitch before noon on your departure day. If you would like to alter these times then please do speak to the site and they will try their best to accommodate your requests. Glamping pods are available from 3pm to 10pm, departure is due before 11am on your last day.

Yes, dogs are more then welcome here. However, please do keep them on leads at all times as this is a working farm with animals and large machinery. The site also do not permit any breed of dog listed on the Dangerous Dogs Act. Pets are not allowed in glamping pods.

Camping evenings aren't complete without sitting round a fire pit, toasting marshmallows or stargazing! Fire pits are allowed here, although, they must be raised of the ground to protect the grass.

On the sites doorstep is Rhuddlan, great cafes and places to explore including Ruddlan Castle. Within 15 minutes is the coastal type of Rhyl, a great family friendly day out with the miniature railway and SeaQuarium.

Awnings are allowed free of charge, pup tents and gazebos are not allowed.

The closest bus stop is a six minute walk away where the number 35 bus takes you into nearby Rhyl. The nearest train station is Rhyl station, just over a ten minute drive away.

Things to do on site and in the Rhuddlan area

Rhuddlan is only a ten minute country walk from the site where you will find plenty of places to eat, drink and visit - including Rhuddlan Castle, Bodrhyddan Hall and the beautiful nature reserve.

There are plenty of walkways and cycle paths locally and in wider North Wales including the Offa's Dyke in Prestatyn. Snowdonia National Park is an hour away where walkers can walk up Snowdon or enjoy a ride aboard the many steam trains in the area.

For thrill-seekers, there is Surf Snowdonia and the Zip World adventures offering plenty of activities for all ages and abilities. Or spend your day on the water with a range of watersports including paddle boarding, surfing, sailing and boat trips across North Wales.
