Great site to go with my son. Would definitely go again

Amazing campsite

Absolute amazing campsite, brilliant for the kids . Hoping to stay this September. I would recommend this site to anyone

Definitely worth visiting and will return

First time camping as a family and glad we picked this place to start. Will definitely start camping more and return to this site. I've given 4 star to standard of service, but would give 5 if it wasn't for one worker who was rude and was stressed out about the hours she's worked, which shouldn't be taken out on people visiting.

First time camping with a 2 year old

The site was easy to find, staff were friendly. We were shown to our pitch and we were given the option to be near the amenities or further away in a quieter spot. We chose to be near the amenities. Our car was parked beside the grass within eyesight of tent.  Electric hook up and water access: Next to our pitch we had an electric box which allowed 2 hook ups per pitch and a drinking water tap beside it.  Showers and toilets: There is a shower block near the reception with toilets and showers. These were cleaned regularly throughout the day. There was also a cabin style unit near our pitch which had toilets in cubicles inside and sinks. There were separate male and female toilets in this unit.  Washing up: There was a washing up unit outside the toilet cabin and also in reception both had hot water.  Parks: There was a large park and also a smaller park near the duck pond (which is fenced off). The parks had things for all ages including a sand pit. Our daughter was able to play independently but be in within eyesight.  Entertainment: There was children's entertainment throughout the day, live music in the evening, bingo and quizzes. The music can be heard across the campsite.  Food and drinks: Reasonable priced, plenty of optionally we had pizzas for tea one night.  Quiet time: Security goes round at 10pm and reminds campers to be quiet.  Location: Lots of supermarkets nearby. Highly recommend we will be returning. 

Big site loads to explore

Big site loads to explore, staff seemed more interested in there own conversations rather than serving customers, which was a shame, as on a whole, they were lovely just lacking in concentration. Litter around the park could have easily been dealt with by the many young members of staff that seemed to be doing nothing else other than ride around on gators all day, chatting in pairs. The activities were good, but lacking on information i.e times and prices. Some areas of the park seemed to be more neglected than others in terms of maintenance and appearance. Games room was very dated and nothing was plugged in/turned on. Mini golf looks like it's been abandoned. Overall, enjoyable stay but elements could have been improved upon.

Lovely child friendly campsite. Large pitch, we had hard standing with electric. Toilets and showers all spotless every time we used them.

Good facilities and the young children really enjoyed the park and entertainment. Toilets and showers were regularly cleaned. Nice walks on the doorstep too.

Really enjoyed our 2 night stay.

We really enjoyed our stay. The facilities were excellent, toilets, showers & bins were close by. There were lots to do for my son. Fishing, crazy golf, ping pong. The big park was good aswel. The food was quite reasonably priced. It seemed quite fun for the kids, alot to do to keep them having fun.

Lively family site

The site is really well laid out around different levels with a central complex with showers, pot washing, café/bar and entertainments. There are also adjacent playgrounds and fishing ponds Facilities for families with kids are excellent. There is a nature walk around the site and more walks from the site along the valley. Toilets and showers are all clean and well maintained. The lower field can be noisy until around 9pm from the entertainments, and there is some noise from the road, but overall,, the site is a fantastic family stay and we would recommend. We stayed as a couple and had a great time, no complaints, but it was probably too family focussed for us, but we would come back again with our grandchildren definitely. Very good site.

Great for young families

We stayed as a family with three young children and I have to say, they all had a great time. We arrived on a Saturday night and it was really busy. There was a live band, lots of people enjoying themselves, but it was not overwhelming. It was our first visit, so we didn't know what to expect. I did wonder whether it would be loud into the night, but the site is so well run that, as they state in their rules, at 10:30, children are all in tents and vans and by 11pm, it's calm and peaceful. The next couple of days, the site had emptied out significantly, so the children really enjoyed the pick of the playgrounds. The food was okay, somewhat overpriced for what you get, but no real complaints about it. Location is great, feels very secluded once in, but really close to towns and supermarkets, so easy to pick up any missed items from home. Will definitely visit again.

Hidden gem

Took a chance on this camp site as we wanted to visit the Heights of Abraham. Great for kids and adults. Entertainment was a bonus, play parks fab for kids of all ages. Will do return as my grandson had an amazing time camping, it was his first time too 😃

Underwhelming

Very disappointed with the site in general. Staff were very pleasant. Fellow guests were extremely rowdy and non observant of site rules and continued making noise well into the early hours. There was no sign of anyone asking people to be quiet. Showers and toilets are basic. Hook up for electricity was excellent. Not sure how they can charge as much as do for what's offered.

Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry to hear your stay did not meet your expectations. We would, however, like to clarify that the noise heard into the early hours was from an event nearby and not from our park, which was unfortunately beyond our control. We have staff on site throughout the day and late at night, we have clear rules regarding guest behaviour, and we take any issues seriously. Whilst we cannot control the actions of every individual at all times, we do act promptly when matters are reported to us. We remain committed to providing a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for all our guests.

Lovely site More for families than couples but very peaceful

Brilliant dad and lad weekend

Booked a weekend in one of the barrel pods for me and my son .Everything was brilliant the staff are amazing,really friendly and helpful. The pod was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We had breakfast and dinner from the cafe Really good bacon butties and burgers.Spent the days fishing and then a few beers sat outside the bar.All in all a perfect weekend thank you we had a fantastic weekend.

this campsite is more than you can expect, its so peaceful and such a lovely place to stay think ive found my camping spot for the future peaceful of mind if you going with children that you can relax and let them be

loverly weekend

Great site ,really happy with our weekend, my only negative would be having to join a que and wait 10-15 min to get back on site through the barrier due to new arrivals having to park up in front of entrance barrier whilst they book in thus blocking everyone else's entry. Otherwise fantastic, kids will love it .

Great for families

The campsite is in a great spot, and the staff were incredibly helpful. When we arrived, they took the time to suggest the absolute best and most suitable area for us to set up our tents together. The playgrounds and on-site facilities were fantastic. The kids had a blast, and it kept them safely entertained throughout the day. Respectful campers: we really appreciated that everyone else staying at the campsite was quiet, respectful, and followed the evening rules. Unfortunately, the biggest issue was the noise from the nearby roadside transport. While the campsite itself was perfectly quiet, the traffic noise echoing into the campground around midnight was incredibly loud and made it very difficult to get a good night's sleep.

Great and clean facilities, helpful staff, lovely children entertainment and handy restaurant on site. Beautiful surroundings.

Great site

We recently stayed at this campsite and overall had a lovely experience. The facilities were clean and well maintained, and the family shower room was especially helpful when travelling with three young children — it made things much easier for us. The only small downside was that the main toilet and shower facilities were quite a walk from where we were pitched, which can be a little challenging with younger children. There was a portable toilet nearby though, which did help. Unfortunately, some nearby campers were smoking and there was a strong smell of cannabis throughout parts of the day and night. While this wasn’t the campsite’s fault, it did affect our stay slightly. Aside from that, we really enjoyed our break and would say it’s a great campsite for young families.
