Maintained site. Great location for exploring the local area with a proper local pub just down the road. We will be returning.

Motorhome - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Jul 2026 Where do I begin? This is quite literally how every good story begins!
We only stayed for one night and to say we regret not staying longer is an understatement! To start off, the cleanliness of this campsite is impeccable! As soon as you drive in, you can just sense its going to be a good stay!
Nathan was ever so lovely and helpful with our last minute booking and late entry due to being first time motorhome users, he we was very polite and hospitable. He showed us how to use everything and if we had any questions to just message, not once did we feel like a burden with the million questions we had for him!
He also printed us a sheet of places we can visit in the area which we went to one and it was a very good recommendation. As we left, we felt like we had known him for a long time because of his approachable and friendly character.
Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area to go and stay here!
Thank you again! We cant wait to be back, we are already planning our next trip!

Lovely, lovely place to stay
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Jul 2026 Llys Derwen turned out to be the perfect spot for our stay in Wales. The site is very nicely laid out, with all the facilities you could want. The standard of showers, toilets, etc is extremely high and very well maintained.
With Snowdon, Anglesey, Caernarfon all about 10-15 minutes drive away, it was perfectly located for us.
The owner Nathan was very friendly and helpful and always around the site organising his team.
A lovely site, in a beautiful location made our little holiday just perfect.

Motorhome - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Jul 2026 Great campsite, great location for Yr Wyddfa (we will definitely do this next time) and Llanberis (we went paddle boarding).
Nathan is such a welcoming and friendly guy - he never stops! Spotlessly clean shower blocks and toilets, free Wi-Fi, what's not to like?
Lovely and peaceful surroundings with no noise at night and you can see beautiful sunsets. The grounds are perfectly maintained and in reception, you can get an ice cream and some local honey.

Weekend stay
Medium Tent - Grass Tent Pitches (Optional Electric) Jul 2026 Nathan was very friendly and helpful. Site is conveniently located for Snowdon, Bangor, Caernarvon, Llyn Peninsula and Anglesey.
Short walk into Lanrug which has Co-op, fish and chip shop and good pub serving nice food. Site was quiet at night, no problem sleeping.

One of the things guests love most about Llys Derwen is the location. Whether you’re climbing Snowdon, exploring Caernarfon, visiting Bangor, discovering the Llyn Peninsula or heading over to Anglesey, everything is within easy reach, making it the perfect base to explore North Wales without spending hours in the car.
I’m also glad you enjoyed the peace and quiet at night, along with the short walk into Llanrug for the Co-op, fish and chips, and the pub.

Very Nice, Clean & Tidy, Friendly staff
Medium Tent - Grass Tent Pitches (Optional Electric) Jul 2026 Campsite was perfect for us. Showers & toilets were clean & tidy, we had a lovely pitch (we had a few tents/friends with us) so that was great, we were all together. Nathan was a nice chap, friendly & helpful.
The little on site office supplied milk, ice creams, and other bits.
There was a little toilet block near our camping area so that was convenient, and again always clean & tidy.
Nice washing up area & laundry room, plenty of bins/recycling facilities.
The location was great for Snowden ! Also the little village down the road had some supermarkets so could buy other essentials. Can highly recommend.

Fantastic site with great hosts
Motorhome - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Jul 2026 We had a fantastic time on our visit to this gem of a site.
We have driven our motorhome all the way from Cyprus to explore the UK for a few months and I will put this site in my top 3 of all we have visited across Europe & the UK this far.
Welcomed by friendly staff, the site is clean and well spaced out and the owner takes time to visit everyone and say hello. Their local knowledge on transport & attractions allowed us to plan our time vising the area with ease. Whilst I am writing this review, I am looking at dates to return and visit again. Any repeat booking shows how good the site & staff are.

A lovely peaceful site in an excellent location
Medium Tent - Grass Tent Pitches (Optional Electric) Jul 2026 A very clean and peaceful site. The bathrooms and toilets were kept exceptionally clean with regular cleaning throughout the day. However when the site is busy it could do with more facilities, my husband had to wait on several occasions to get a shower or use the toilet. The use of a fridge freezer is very helpful.

You stayed with us during the peak school holiday season, when the site and facilities are naturally at their busiest, so I really appreciate your patience during the occasional wait. It’s especially lovely to hear the toilets and showers still felt exceptionally clean and immaculate despite how busy we were.

Great welcoming site
Motorhome - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Jul 2026 Great small scale site in a good location outside of Llanberis. As a Motorhome owner we are always looking for some with good access links and this site ticks that box. Pub with good food a short walk away. Bus stop for regular buses to Llanberis (or pen y pass) or Caernarfon just down the road or an easy to follow route to Llanberis on foot along a quiet road (track).
Owner is very friendly and knowledgeable and the facilities are modern and regularly cleaned, pitches are well prepared (levelling is required on most) and electric on all with water easily available. All in all a really nice small site that we would certainly use again.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Jun 2026 We recently had a wonder stay at Llys Derwen!
The site is beautifully kept, really well thought out, really well laid out and we really couldn't have wanted for more.
Immaculately clean facilities, powerful hot showers and no matter where you were on the site, it was only a short walk to them.
Jason & Heledd are warm & welcoming and always available if you need them. They're full of helpful advice, tips and recommendations as they have a vast knowledge of the surrounding area.
The doggy daycare was a huge plus for us, as we wanted to visit Caernarfon Castle for a few hours (its a 10 mins drive from the site, at most). Jason happily showed us their facilities, asked questions about our dog, and took the time to understand any particular needs she might of had. We even got a lovely video of our dog on her walk with Jason, having the time of her life, and its also a lovely momento for us to keep too.
We will absolutely be back for another stay! And we're already looking forward to it.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Jun 2026 Excellent campsite very clean quiet and well maintained with good facilities. Nathan the owner is a lovely friendly guy always has a smile and helpful. The location is just a few minutes drive from the Snowdon Mountain Railway and about 25 mins from Zip world. Located in the heart of Snowdonia national park, it is ideally situated for 'van lifers', caravans and campers alike who are looking to explore the area and its stunning scenery. The friendly local pub is just a few minutes walk away and serves good food.

What Gem of a site!
Motorhome - Electric Grass Touring Pitches May 2026 We had a lovely stay here. Nathan on reception was lovely and so helpful, it really got our stay off to a good start. All the facilities were excellent and spotlessly clean. The pitch was quiet and we had a lovely night. There is a great enclosed dog walk area, which our small dog loved. Would definately stay here again.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches May 2026 Gorgeous, well kept little campsite in a great location.
The staff are so friendly and helpful. We had not planned to bring our elderly dog along as we booked the Snowdon summit train. Our arrangements for his care didn't work out, so I called a week before to see if I could amend our booking and bring him and book him into the doggy day care service (what luck we just happened to book a site offering this service). It was no trouble for us to bring him along and they were happy to have him a little after 5pm on a Sunday due to our booking time, despite doggy day care closing at 5pm. We also mentioned he didn't like cages and was a little deaf and has separation anxiety. Nathan let him use a side room with a baby gate and took him on walks and sent updates.
The facilities were also so clean and there were chickens next to the dog walking field which our children loved. Honestly, it's a lovely campsite in a great location! The welcome pack recommended visiting Caernarfon which was great and we went to Conwy, as well as the summit train in Llanberis.
Nathan and his step dad/father in law (sorry can't remember) were wonderful and if we are in the area again, we will definitely come here.
