Clear filters Excellent campsite
Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2024 We really enjoyed our stay here. The facilities were excellent and the site owners were extremely helpful and friendly. Perfect location to explore virtually the whole of southern Cornwall We had a problem with our new cooker hob and Mike offered to lend us one until we received our replacement, which he then delivered to our tent when it arrived.
Would certainly recommend this site to anyone and would look forward to returning if we visit this part of Cornwall again.

The Old Stables is a gem of a site!
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2024 What a fab site! Great facilities and excellent value for money. Nothing is too much trouble, Mike even lent us a hacksaw!
We booked 3 nights initially but went back for a fourth at the end of the holiday. Gwithian beach is gorgeous, with views across to Godrevy lighthouse. Will definitely return!

Quiet, friendly site with good facilities
Motorhome - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2024 The Old Stables Campsite is off a quiet road, not far from the A30. It is convenient for St Ives and some excellent coastal walks. The site manager was very helpful and the facilities were excellent and very clean.
It is a 15 minute walk along a farm track to the pub in the nearby village: we ate at the Turnpike Inn twice during our stay and it was excellent.

Awesome base
Camping Pod - Jade Camping Pod Jun 2024 Had a great trip to Cornwall using this site as a base to visit family and friends. Clean and tidy facilities. Friendly staff and loads of space. I would totally recommend.

Our little break at the Old Stables Campsite
Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2024 If you want to to connect with nature, love watching birds 🦅 of prey whilst having a truly amazing beach at the end of the road and St Ives just around the corner, this is the campsite for you.
Plus Michael the campsite owner is one of those people who genuinely wants you to have a lovely time and is always about to help his visitors. Great little break.
Oh apart from we left with Michael's gas stove that he borrowed us because ours broke 😔 But not to worry, we'll bring it back when we visit again because we are definitely coming back 👍

Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2024 Excellent clean facilities, Mike and Jayne were very helpful, chatty and happy to help with anything. Campsite is in a good location for being able to access the rest of Cornwall, but is even better for the wonderful sandy beach at Gwithian (5 minute drive away)
Will be going back there again.

Very clean and great location
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2024 Can't recommend enough!
The owners were lovely from the second we arrived, and we instantly felt comfortable. All the facilities were spotless, the toilets and showers very private too which was a bonus.
We had plenty of space on our pitch and felt as though we had privacy, which isn't something you often get when camping. The location was ideal, it's very easy to get to surrounding town like St. Ives and there are plenty of food places about if you want to venture out.
We will definitely stay again and recommend to others. Thank you!

Lovely site Motorhome - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2024 We love this little site. The owners are lovely and really take pride in the cleanliness and services provided. Showers smell so nice!!! The location is so near to Godrevy which is great. We have been before and will come again.

Great stay despite horrible weather
Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches May 2024 Very nice, small campsite. Flat, good size pitches, clean toilets, hot showers, very quiet site day and night. Nice, helpful owners.
The only thing we were missing are normal size basins. The ones available at the toilets were very small, good for washing hands but a bit too small to wash face.
However, we prefer simple, quiet campsites that are not overcrowded, so had very nice, relaxing stay.

Good location
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2023 Big pitches and lots of hot water in showers. Liked the fact there was also a sink in the shower. Kept very clean. They were spotless.
Would have liked a dog walking area as the road was extremely busy and had no pavements and somewhere to tie the dog when using toilet etc. But realise this may not be practical and they don't charge for dogs so that was a bonus.
Peaceful site with plenty of room. It wasn't full when we went.

Although we are not able to provide dog walking areas, we can for the future provide somewhere for people to tie their animals. Fortunately for you up until now we have not charged for dogs, but we will in the future make a small charge of £1 per day per dog. Despite this, we hope you will return in the future.

Great, very efficiently run campsite
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023 Quiet clean campsite with great showers. Short drive to beach. Spacious pitches and lots of space for kids to play etc. For a small charge you can hire a fire pit with everything you need to sit round the fire.
Very efficiently run..the owners seemed to have thought of everything you might need.
Breakfast van available if you want and some nights also a pizza van.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023 Friendly owners and very clean facilities. My partner and I were really impressed with the cleanness of the showers and loos. Plus, we didn't have an electric pitch so the communal freezer was super useful! Would definitely stay again.

Peace and quiet
Trailer Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023 Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at The Old Stables. Staff are lovely and welcoming the site is clean and spacious for all. The facilities were kept spotless at all times and the showers were amazing. This place was bang in the middle of places with a town just a 5-10 min drive away and the beach less than 5 min drive. I will be looking to stay here again. Thank you for making our first visit to Cornwall memorable.

Amazing little gem
Camping Pod - Indy Camping Pod Aug 2023 Stayed in a pod with my 16 yr old.
The Pod was clean and well positioned. It has a picnic table outside and a small seating area with pull out table then a raised bed platform with a mattress, which was really comfortable.There was lots of storage both under the bed and under the benches in the eating area and there is a little patio area between the pod and the picnic table, which stops any muck getting into the pod.
We stayed when it was hot and the pod was lovely and cool. We heard no noise from other campers.
The site itself is really well looked after. The toilets,showers and washing up area are immaculate.There is also a large freezer for campers use. We had a lovely pizza van visit whilst we were there which we made use of.
There is also a breakfast van which looked lovely and homemade cakes.
Overall a magnificent site which we will visit again.

Clean family friendly site
Shepherd's Hut - Smudge's Shepherd's Hut Aug 2023 We stayed in Smudges Hut. It was a good size and clean. The double bed and futons were comfortable, and it was well appointed with 4 double sockets, electric lights, two stools, table and coat hooks. There is also a picnic bench with parasol. A short walk from the toilets and showers. There is a freezer for ice blocks on site.

Great campsite
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023 We really enjoyed our stay at the Old Stables Campsite. The lady that welcomed us was well organised and very kind to us. The facilities on site were very clean and well equipped. There were also food vans on site which were great value for money.

Fantastic site for exploring Cornwall
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023 Fantastic stay at the Old Stables. Clean facilities, great location for exploring Cornwall with kids particularly St Ive.
Didn't cost much to stay here, even a breakfast van in the mornings.

Relaxing stay

Loved it, coming back next year!
Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023 First time we have stayed at this park and we were looking forward to staying on a more chilled-out site compared to the ones we usually stay on. Toilets and showers were clean and the facilities for a smaller site were spot on. Would love to come back.

Perfect site
Aug 2023 We stayed here on our first trip to Cornwall, driving to a different location each day. We liked this campsite so much we stayed an extra night!
It is extremely good value for money in comparison to what we paid for other places, where the facilities weren't nearly as good. The showers were hot & clean. Toilets spacious & clean. They had a breakfast van each morning & different food vans some evenings (burgers, pizza, crepes etc). There was a tap for drinking water, wetsuit wash, freezer for ice packs.
This site just seemed to go the extra mile & have all those little extra bits. The staff were all friendly, asked us & the children if we were enjoying ourselves every time they saw us. We will definitely return next year! Thank you for a lovely stay! Xx

Shame about the weather!
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2023 We had a lovely welcome from Jayne and Mike and were handed a very useful tourist pack on arrival. The site is situated in an ideal location, everywhere is easily accessible. The toilets and shower blocks were always clean and toilets were never without loo roll. The breakfast van was great, food delivered to the tent!
The only problem with our visit was the weather, we came home a day early as we didn't fancy the 70mph winds!!

It is a a shame that the winds shortened your stay, but hopefully won't put you off visiting again in the future. Although the 70mph is rare, we do sometimes get winds, so advise all campers to invest in some heavy duty tent pegs for extra security.
