Well, what an amazing place! All the staff were super friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The cafe/farm shop on site had everything you could need - including a free WiFi spot! The electric hook up pitch we had was perfect. Nice and level and only a short distance from the facilities. The shower/toilet block was lovely and clean and the water was always hot in the showers. My son loved the play park and football field and was absolutely ecstatic when he found a pizza van on site. Loads of great local attractions including the ratty train, all water activities at wast water and of course only a short distance from lots of great walks - including Scarfell Pike! Well done Church Stile. We will definitely be back!

We had a very relaxed and enjoyable stay here, the pitch size was fantastic and the pizza van was absolutely delicious (we had it twice). The only small negatives I had were the toilets were quite a walk from the tent field we were in so night trips, and maybe the fence around the football area could be higher as a ball often went flying towards car and tent. Would recommend and would stay again.

Lovely campsite within itself, lovely pub just across the way and lovely service from reception. Facilities are kept clean and tidy. I do have some factors that I would have liked to know about before I went, the human waste disposal area (from caravans) was far too close to our area so there was often a smell which was not a nice experience. My other concern was that they had a quiet policy between 11pm-7am and they're supposedly have wardens going around site making sure everyone is quiet. I saw this a few times, but for those noisy families that don't seem to care about young families and those who think we cannot hear what goes on in the static caravans, it can be difficult and things could get heated. The wardens never seemed to say anything and the loud families were allowed to keep everyone up. My suggestion to the camp would be to let people choose where they locate themselves, like I've experienced on several sites or keep distance from children/families/large groups from couples/dogs.

Wonderful location. Friendly staff and we loved the pizza van and the coffee at the shop! I think the site would benefit from another block of toilets and showers and perhaps a twice daily clean during peak times.

For the price of the pitch, you can not go wrong with this lovely isolated area. I would recommended going during the week if possible as it gets a bit busy at weekends, but an amazing stay at an amazing place

The campsite is set within beautiful, picturesque scenery. We enjoyed our stay here. The farm shop was very handy and the pizza from pizza van was delicious. However, the toilet facilities were not very clean. It is a very, very busy campsite and requires a more regular check and clean of them.

We had a wonderful few days here. The scenery is beautiful, the site is spacious, clean, great park for the children and really friendly, helpful staff. Pizza’s from the van were delicious too. I would definitely recommend a stay.

Friendly staff, clean bathrooms, great shop for essentials and they do great coffee and pastries too. So pretty around there and a great base for the lake and mountains of all sizes. Really good site for kids, safe and a not too huge, fun playground in the centre of everything and next to the pizza van! We all loved this campsite so much.

This campsite is great! Staff are really friendly, shop has everything and more, toilet block is clean, showers are warm / powerful, on-site stone baked pizzas, pub across the road and a cafe is a 5 minute walk away. Would highly recommend!

We came for a kayaking and hiking trip and only needed one night here as part of the trip. The site itself was well laid out into hedged areas for camping with decent sized pitch spaces having lots of room around us, facilities were clean, ample and the farm shop also had extra bits in case we needed it. The farm shop also had free WiFi, which was needed due to poor phone signal. Although you had to be quite close to it to use it, so being on-site the WiFi wasn't being picked up. The only issue we had was some loud people on site after midnight (there's an on-site quiet policy after 11 pm which went ignored by those) and a car tooting their horn at 5:30 am, but obviously, that's just inconsiderate people and nothing to do with the site itself. The staff were really friendly and helpful, which was very welcoming. There is a nice pub very close by too with a friendly atmosphere and decent food (although quite pricey). I'd definitely recommend this site and if we decide to climb Scafell Pike again or kayak in Wast Water then this would be the place for us.

The campsite is in a great location and the surrounding is amazing. The kiosk is well equipped and the service is brilliant and pleasant. Only downside is the toilet/shower area, where cleanliness can definitely be improved - it is not too bad, but would recommend to refurbish the entire building and keep it clean more often during the day.

Welcomed at the site on arrival and clearly shown where to pitch, as well as all facilities on site. Excellent guidance provided with questions about routes to different places and the local area. No mobile signal (Three) anywhere on site for me, but free wi-fi at the shop was enough when needed. Pizza from the shack on site was delicious and again great service.

When we arrived we were told to go and find a space in a certain area. There were no spaces although to be fair I didn't arrive until 7:45 pm. We paid for a space though so it was a bit annoying to have to squeeze between two tents. The gentleman in the shop said they close at eight, but the pizza van remains open until nine. At 8:10 pm we went for pizza to be told there were none left. The toilets were clean and showers were okay. The park in general is kept very well. There are some lovely views although, depending on where you are pitched, they may be obscured by overgrown bushes. There was no Wi-Fi available except near to the shop/reception. This was fine as we were only there for one night.
Site's response
Thanks for the feedback and review. Sorry to hear you weren't able to find space to pitch. Had you returned to reception, one of our team would have been more than happy to have helped you locate a better spot for you to fit in to. The pizza van that we have on site is independent to us, so we have no control over their stock levels. However, we will ask him to up the number of pizza doughs that he prepares each evening prior to a day's service. Our Hedgrows are trimmed in the autumn and winter months, in line with DEFRA guidelines. This is to avoid any negative impact on nesting wild birds.
