Very good site, great value for money, a true camping site, good showers, etc. Great place for a cycling or walking holiday.

Small Tent - Electric Grass PitchesJun 2025

We had a great time during our stay we had plenty of room at our pitch. The facilities are fine - it's camping I'm not why people expect the Ritz. Will say by Sunday though it could have used a clean in some of the showers/toilets but they were still useable. Location is it's biggest draw, it's only a short walk into Swanage and only a short drive to the car park at Renscombe (which is free but has a 2.1m height limit) id definitely stay here again if I'm down that way. Think the fuddy duddy types are a little sky is falling with their low reviews of this place. They tell you prior that the site has construction work going on in certain locations, but it's no where near the tent pitches.

Large Tent - Electric Grass PitchesJun 2025

Single toilet for males. Female toilets had no locks, trash had not been emptied and the toilets were broken on some. Tent pitch was not grassed, very stoned. There is no quiet time. Stayed 20-22 June and two large groups had arrived one playing music and shouting until 1:30am and to top it all, the men in the group had either found trees or had chopped some down for a fire. They got their children to collect twigs. If we had young children, would have left after one night. The site looked in a very poor condition, would not recommend other than for its location 10 mins from the beach.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesJun 2025

Big rambling site caters for all comers. The new toilet/shower units are excellent, other parts of the site need some maintenance & upgrades. Less than half an hour walk to Swanage and the coastal path. Second night slightly spoilt by a large and noisy group.

Pleasant site in just the right location

Twin Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding PitchesJun 2025

Delighted by the site, really useful facilities, cubicles containing large shower, wash basin and toilet all in one. Beautiful views. Really lovely lady in the snack shack who still cooked us burger and chips despite being just after 9pm. Thank you.

Ideal position to have as a base for walks

Great position, site ok. Lots of permanent pitches changed the vibe of the site. Toilets not the cleanest.

Just an awful site. Badly kept and looked like a shanty town on arrival. Unclean and unloved.

I arrived to find no bar or kid's play area. Had I known, I would have avoided. That said, the location was great and when finished, this will be a great site.

Great location, poor facilities

Lovely location, nice walk into Swanage. Far too few toilets & showers. No hot water in dishwasher area. Toilets lacking locks and in disrepair with vandalism. No gas bottles in shop!

VW-Type Campervan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding PitchesNov 2024

After reading the previous reviews, we were sceptical. However, our pitch was as expected - "fully serviced, hard standing". The bar was smoky but friendly, taxis were easy to get, view was lovely, site had no litter, bins were emptied etc. Toilet block was dated but not un-usable hygiene wise. Overall, a pleasant stay.

Only stayed for 2

We were going to stay for 7 nights but only stayed for 2. We booked a hardstanding served pitch that was just a little bit all overgrown. This site is more like a junk site cars on blocks, not clean or kept up together. We booked for a week, but only stayed 2 nights as it was so poor. We ended up leaving and going somewhere else for the rest of our holiday.

Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding PitchesSep 2024

Although we loved the area, the site itself seemed uncared for. The toilet and shower rooms were never properly cleaned, with mould on the walls of at least one of the showers and general grubbiness throughout. The staff were friendly and helpful, but how the facilities cope when the site is full, as pictures show, is difficult to imagine.

Needs renovation

I feel it needs renovation and daily cleaning of showers and toilets. There were cleaning schedules but in some cases, cleaning hadn't been done for a fortnight!

Toilets were absolutely disgusting and I feel they need an overhaul. Shower blocks filthy. Also burger van opens when it wants to, very dissatisfied.

Large Tent - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

We only stayed the 1 night out of the 2, only due to the weather. Site was great, had everything, toilets, shower was good, shop and café too. Didn't use the bar but looked good. Great location. Will use again if down that way.

Excellent location however,+ facilities were not clean.

Large Tent - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

Campsite was in an ideal location and we were never more than 15 mins from beaches, cliffs or places we wanted to see. There was a nice view of Swanage at night and it was a 20min walk to the centre via fields. Unfortunately, the toilets and facilities were very dirty. There was a mop left in each toilet and we were sure the cleaner gave the toilets a quick wipe and did not clean properly. Overall, the campsite in general was quite tired and in need of renovation. We will be going to Swanage for future vacations however, we won't be booking this campsite again.

Lovely place to stay. Close enough to walk to Swanage (20-30 minute walk) or you can walk to the steam train station 10 minutes down the road and hop on that You can go to Swanage and Corfe Castle from there.

It's a shame that a site in such a good location has been allowed to get into a state of disrepair.

Motorhome - Fully Serviced Hardstanding PitchesAug 2024

This is a great site, have to admit arrived in the evening and was a bit unsure at first, but in the morning light and after meeting lovely friendly people in the club house the night before, was so much better than originally thought. Hard standing pitches have water and electric hook-up, one per two pitches and enough space for an awning. Lovely bar/club with a restaurant, also has a couple of fast food facilities on site, a shop, laundrette, very helpful staff and a playground for younger children. Is within walking distance to Swanage, which is a lovely little seaside town boasting a steam train service to other places (there is a station/stop just up from the site), which we took to Corfe, again a great trip out on a wonderful steam train. All in all great value for money and Will definitely be returning. Thank you.

Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding PitchesAug 2024

Narrow lane to reach campsite with limited passing places, I feel that more information required to assist in reaching campsite required. Gravel access roads very noisy with cars especially at night, 5 mph speed limit not enforced, and was a bit like a racetrack. No information supplied on checking in about site facilities, Elsan point very open. Limited shop, food van good. Not impressed and will not be returning.

Bell Tent - Bell Tents Aug 2024

The bell tent part of the site was great. Very quiet and peaceful. Toilets near by but showers often cold, depending on time of day. Fire pit and logs provided. Some sort of outside of tent lighting would give a glamping feel. We added our own lights. I feel that providing a bed and small drawers does not make it glamping. Not enough dog mess bins and signage, and information was very poor. Never did find the camping reception although, we were told where it was. Other campers had same problem so not just us. We had to phone the site to find out what was needed as they never sent any details. Other glamping sites offer more. Beds a little on the hard side, we stayed for 2 nights. In general, it was a pleasant stay, although the rest of the site and facilities needed a tidy up and updating as they feel very outdated. Definitely missing a few tricks like providing food in the bar and advertising the entertainment on each night. The bar also needs updating. The takeaway food huts were reasonably priced and food was good, but all with chips. No jacket potato or steak, just pizza, kebab or things you'd get from chip shop. Nevertheless, we would go back for another 2 night stay but not longer.
