About the site

Located on the banks of the River Wyre, this family friendly park is surrounded by walking routes and cycling trails. Guests can enjoy fishing in one of the large onsite lakes or smaller ponds, with sandy beaches and the Lake District within a 35 minute drive! The site is home to four simple, unfurnished camping pods, each measuring 7.5ft x 9ft. Allowing up to two adults and one child, the pods include simple essentials like lighting, electric sockets and an electric heater. Outside, you will also find a handy picnic bench and spacious parking area. Do note, as the pods are unfurnished, guests will need to bring along their own beds, bedding and cooking/kitchen equipment. Shared toilet, shower and washing up facilities are also just a short walk away. Dogs can join you for your stay, with up to two canine companions allowed per pod. Evenings can be spent enjoying a BBQ, just please ensure they are only used on a safe surface and away from grassed areas. You can also purchase a BBQ from the site's reception. Please note, fire pits and chimineas are not allowed.

Pods basic but reflects the value for money price which we loved as like camping. Shower block nice, clean & modern. Great fun fishing and lovely walks for our dog. Would definitely return.

Everything about the camping here is excellent for the price, with the only slight draw backs coming from the fishing side of things. The camping pod we stayed in being clean while having enough space to fit three of us (Although it was a bit tight) and being hooked up to power was a great plus. The toilet block was really clean and looked relatively new as was the rest of the site. Alongside this all the staff were really friendly and helpful. Me and my mates came to this place for a relaxing week with a bit of fishing, fishing on the large lake throughout our trip. Now I think if that's your main goal you will get more than you want to here but perhaps if you are looking to be extra serious about fishing you might not be overly exited. The lake itself is well maintained with the swims being clean and clear but fishing could be slow especially if you are going for bigger fish especially carp. There definitely are carp here but I can't anticipate the area. There in huge numbers out of me and my mates I was only one to catch carp, catching two infact, both caught on hotdog sausage with the suggestions being here that unconventional baits like hot dog or muscles work best on this venue. But obviously with that type of fishing there is no guarantee of fish so take my advice with a pinch of salt. There is seemingly a good stock of course fish and some decently sized bream and roach, with our most efficient catching of these coming from using method feeders. The pegs which worked best for us where the ones facing towards the private fishing side, with both of my carp being caught in the close weeds to the left of peg 8. I would say that if they stocked the big lake with more carp then the whole package of the holiday would be extremely desirable for someone targeting carp and I would definitely come back if that's the case.
