Great stay!!

Had a lovely time, really enjoyed it, great facilities.

Peaceful

Lovely place to stay and relax, site was lovely and clean, so were the toilets and showers. Pub closes at 9pm and they stop serving food at 8pm, but can't complain, food was really good. Very narrow road to get to the site, be wary of on coming traffic.

Lovely site but a bit remote

Lots of amenities on site but it's a shame you cannot walk along river bank or road as they are so narrow. Need to use a vehicle to get about.

Back of beyond and a bit further!

Nice site, but very rural. No takeaways or shops within 5 or 6 miles. There was a bar/pub food on site and the usual shop with limited items. There is an indoor pool and playground for children. Beautiful old church next to site, be sure to visit, paperbacks inside for church funds if short of reading material. Ok if you don't want to go off site. Particularly limiting if you are in a campervan. Great view from pitch Kingfisher, fully serviced. Nice pub 2/3 miles Wheatacre White Lion but too far to walk. It might suit some but not us.

Peace and quiet

Peace and quiet. This site is in a remote location but oh so lovely. The facilities are spotless .The site is nicely laid out too. We did not eat at restaurant on site but did enjoy the drinks from the bar just sitting watching the wildlife. The only downside is site information and map are sent via email. I did not receive this until I checked in, despite receptionist saying it was sent. I think the map of the site should be printed off and given to guests on arrival.

Very peaceful and worth the trek up single tracks

The campsite as it is out of the way is very peaceful. The grounds are kept nice, hopefully some of the decking will get replaced. There's a nice lot of wildlife, and you can get the foot ferry to the other side of the river and enjoy the nature reserve leading onto a large visitor centre for adults, kids and dogs 40 minute walk approx. friendly staff on site. There is an unusual looking old church there too.

Nice site but the approach road is not good

The site is nice a clean and quiet but the road to it is very narrow with very few passing places. The pitches are only just wide enough for a motorhome and awning not much more space to sit beside your awning. Each pitch has hedging each side. Toilets and shower all clean but in the gents toilet one toilet seat was missing all the time we were there. Not many footpaths to walk near the site but if you can get over the river to the nature reserve there are plenty there but whilst we were there the ferry did not operate any day. Would we go back to this site - the answer is no.

We have two entrances into Waveney River Centre, one that is very narrow with little passing places, and one that is much wider with passing places every few yards. We certainly recommend the latter. Our first run out of the year in our campervan

Waveney River Centre is a beautiful place to stay, surrounded by lovely countryside and the river. The facilities were good as was the bar. We will be heading back soon.

Touring caravan stay with friends

The swimming pool and also the campsite toilet/shower block were not clean and looked tired. Hedges were not trimmed. Lots of details that showed a lack of maintenance. Won't stay again. Shame because location and view from touring pitch is quite nice.

Lovely quiet site

Lovely quiet site, need a car to get out and about.

Pros and cons

First the good bits! The facilities were very clean and reception etc were very helpful. It was very quiet and relaxing. The Inn on site had lovely food and drink and it was nice to sit and watch the wildlife (deer, barn owl and local small birds). Secondly, the niggly bits. We found the pitch (Heron no: 2) quite cramped, hemmed in by hedges either side and not enough room to open the awning. There was plenty of space on the Kingfisher pitches however. We had a lot of trouble getting the Wi-Fi sorted out (pre payed) and the receptionist helped with this. We think we received a partial refund but it was also turned off early! Lastly, a missing toilet seat in the gents! I was desperate and had to sit on the porcelain!

Not brilliant

Nice site but not cleaned - showers full of hair, sinks and surfaces grimy and no toilet lids. Dead bugs in washing-up room and no hot water. Filthy bins in toilets and taps that spray water everywhere. No dustbins in touring fields and Elsan disposal point needs updating. Friendly staff but last orders in the bar called at 8.30pm, not ideal.

Nice stay

It was a very nice site, the staff were friendly and welcoming and the place was very clean and tidy. We had a lovely break.

Great site, lots for the children!

Great little site! Bonus to have a pool to use and the bar lounge provided entertainment in the form of board games, pinball machines and a pool table. The restaurant food was nice but a little pricey. Good toilet and shower facilities.

Hidden gem

What a lovely site. Great facilities, clean and tidy. Ideal location if you like canoeing, paddle boarding and trips to the coast. Will definitely be going back.

Excellent location and facilities

Quite site next to water front, easy access to water way for paddling. Site is clean with pool, games room and a park outside, numbers of shower rooms. I think it's a well managed site. Will come again for sure.

May bank holiday

The site is very remote and down a very long and narrow single track county road which is tricky for both caravans and cars. But nice to see the boats on the waterways and quiet outside of school/bank holidays. The pool was nice however can quickly become fully booked - the reception doesn't seem to match with the pool booking system which can make it overcrowded despite a max of 20 in at once. The changing rooms are small and there was a bit of a cleanliness issue however once reported, was sorted quickly. Overall, there were a few issues with maintenance around the site, with a number of things needing to be fixed that could have been sorted before the busy bank holiday weekend, which was disappointing.

Great campsite with lots of wildlife

We stayed over May bank holiday for a week. The site was busy over the bank holiday but facilities were still fairly clean and enough available. Showers and toilets were spacious and user friendly with hot water- a little more cleaning over the weekend would have been good. The play park was fun and well maintained. The pool was a great addition. We stayed on the Moorhen field which is in front of the river so a great location and very big pitches. The other camping field seemed to have smaller pitches but good for groups to camp together. Staff were super friendly and helpful. There's a freezer and washing machines & tumble dryers. The restaurant had a games room which was a nice space to warm up in! The site is accessed by a single track road but its very quiet, so we rarely met anyone else. It's about 10-15 minutes drive to Beccles which has supermarkets and even a McDonalds!

5 nights in touring caravan

Lovely quiet location - will return and recommend to anybody.

Three night camping trip

Great little place by the river. Staff couldn't do enough for you. Lovely walks and dog friendly even in the site pub. Would go back.

Very happy, enjoyed our stay so much we booked again

We had a great weekend and have booked again, all staff very helpful and happy to help. Nothing was too much trouble. Loved this camp.

Waveney

Wonderful location except for single track road to the site. The swimming was a real bonus.

We agree that sometimes the single track road can be a little intimidating if you are not used to country lanes, however the road is not very busy and the local farmers are very accommodating to caravan users and motorhomes which is great. We had a nice time

Great place, we have been coming for years, but I am sad to say, it could do with some things updating, the pitch we had was very small and all dirt. Really could do with a hard surface on it and the trees cutting back to let more light in. The swimming pool is great, but the changing room floors are too wet to be able to put dry clothes on - same as the showers in the shower block and really need squeezable mops in them like other places use. The play area was full of kids but does need updating. We love being able to take our dog on the field and around the campsite but it could do with some more dog poo bins. As always, we had a lovely time and enjoyed seeing the boats, but please do look into updating.

Lovely site

2 nights stay with 2 under 10s. Small park but hours of fun. Nice small site for camping so can see the children from pitch. Pool is basic. Location is quiet and lovely setting however, marked as three stars as you have to travel at least 15 mins by car to get to anything else. Toilet facilities were warm and fairly clean but only half seemed to be available during the stay. Lovely staff! Would be ideal to have a bigger park and more open space for ball games. Very much enjoyed our stay.
