Motorhome - Fully Serviced Hardstanding PitchesJul 2026

We booked campsite as we were walking part of Hadrians wall which is about a mile away not far from Sycamore gap. The campsite has lots of different animals to amuse younger children and lots of space - there is a very nice pub/restaurant just a 10 min walk. The facilities were immaculate - very good showers.

Twin Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding PitchesMay 2026

I cannot recommend Herding Hill highly enough. A beautiful site, well kept neat and tidy with spotless facilities in a great location. The pitches were all a good size, our large van fitted on easily with room for parking and an awning if required. The showers and toilets were always impeccably clean and included a sauna which was easy to book. We did not use the camp kitchen, which included vending machines but it looked amazing. It's so quiet and peaceful unless you count the the sheep as noisy neighbours! The animals in the petting zoo were just lovely, nice to go and visit them, they look so happy and well cared for. We did not have young children with us but the children with other families looked to be having a ball. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. I honestly cannot think of any negatives, it's a little pricey but then again it is so good I personally think it was value for money. The road up is quite steep but not a problem if you take your time and drive with care. Lovely! One of the best sites we have ever visited!
