This dog and family-friendly site offers non electric grass tent pitches surrounded by beautiful farmland. Within 30 minutes of the Northumberland Coast and Hadrian's Wall, you will also be in a prime location for days out!

Lovely location surrounded by fantastic views. When we arrived the weather wasn't great, with heavy rain forecast for the rest of the day and evening. As we started setting up, David offered us the use of a gazebo and some extra tent pegs. This was at no additional charge. This helped us hide from the rain and make the most of our day. We realised we had forgotten our chairs and David quickly returned with some for us to use, including a mini one for our son. Jill regularly came to check on us and stood chatting to our little one, answering his questions about the neighbouring horses. The loo's were super clean with Jill cleaning them every morning and evening. The pitch size was generous and we were allowed to choose where ever we wanted. Bolam lake is just opposite the opening of the campsite and we walked around it most evenings. Overall, a lovely getaway with helpful and kind hosts who go above and beyond. We will definitely be back.

A great camping spot in the North East

This is a lovely camping space with marked pitches, clean toilets and running water, beautiful views and excellent service. After camping here on a very rainy night, I met Jill, the owner, who wanted to check that everything was OK. It was. Facilities here are basic but well-kept and clean. It's adjacent to the lake where there are good walking paths, a cafe (check opening times!) and more toilets.

The site was clean and tidy, the toilets were clean as well. David and Jill were very polite and helpful. The site is in a lovely area.

Already recommended. Beautiful site and David, the owner was incredibly kind and attentive. Kids had a fabulous time and it was so peaceful. You get what's mentioned in the article, two portapotties, but they were very well maintained and there was water onsite. Well kept, and the firepits are a definite must have. Thanks to both owners for a picturesque and safe space.

Really beautiful quiet site. It was our first time camping and this was perfect for a first go: it felt secluded and in nature but also had good phone signal and clean facilities, and was literally 30 seconds from the entrance to Bolam Lake Country Park. The owners are friendly, gave us lots of info, and checked if we needed a hand with anything. I would fully recommend booking here.

How can you make a basic field into a great camping spot? Jill and David certainly have managed that, from a friendly warm welcome, beautiful location maintained exceptionally, to the cleanest portaloos I've ever seen. We'll definitely be back. So close to home but felt we were miles away. Lovely walks locally short one round Bolam lake which has a café to a longer one up to Shafto Craggs, giving lots of options of things to do. Lovely, tranquil site with bird song and horses in the paddock. Picnic tables, clean facilities and mains water. Great back to basics site. Possible to book just 1 night over bank holiday, which was very welcome compared to most sites.
