About the site
A truly family-friendly campsite, set in a secure grass field in a peaceful corner of East Lothian. Surrounded by miles of trails and woodland and with no cars allowed on the pitches, you and your family can have a back to nature camping experience. For those with camping gear already, choose between a small, medium or large grass pitch depending on your tent size. All are without electric for the back to basics feel. The site lets you choose where to pitch to allow you to pick your perfect spot! Or, if you don't have a tent already opt for one of the pre-pitched bell tents that sleep up to either two, four or six. All come ready for your arrival with air beds. Do note, you'll still need to bring all of the other camping gear! The park is home to an amazing adventure playground, a magical spot for children of all ages. Guests get discounted entry to the Fort Douglas Adventure Playground with a treehouse fort, secret tunnels, zip lines, Sky Maze and Mini Maze. You'll find a wide range of activities both within the park and surrounding areas, including cycle trails, and a Go Ape course! Making this site the perfect location for your family camping adventure. For food, there is The Kitchen serving award winning breakfasts and lunches, takeaway treats from The Larder, and the Restoration Yard's stylish boutique for some retail therapy. An ideal base for a city break to Edinburgh, you'll be just a 20 minute drive from the city centre and 30 minutes from the Royal Mile. Whether you're there to explore the city or are visiting one of the many festivals, you're ideally located! Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome to join you on your stay. Sorry, no dogs allowed in the bell tents. You'll find picnic benches around the site too so why not bring a BBQ and enjoy nights of alfresco dining?
Dalkeith Country Park is open from 06/06 to 30/08.
