About the site
Easy to reach and in the heart of one of the only 18 Dark Skies Reserves in the world, this adult only (16+) site is a peaceful setting for those looking to escape to the Brecon Beacons National Park, with incredible views over the Black Mountain. The site has blended the best bits of wild camping and organised camping. Here you will find peace and quiet, a sense of remoteness, an escape from noise and crowds, a backdrop of nature and vast night skies. There are 12 non electric grass pitches for tents only, and two separate grass-based pitches for campervans and roof tents. Each one allows a maximum of five people only, allows gazebos and has its own fire pit, perfect for warmer evenings. You will also find it a great location for exploring the Brecon Beacons National Park, with lots of hiking, motorbiking and cycling routes nearby, as well as places of interest such as the Red Kite Feeding Centre, National Showcaves, Botanical Gardens, Dolaucothi Gold Mine, Dinefwr Park, Carreg Cennen Castle and many more. Facilities onsite include a camp kitchen equipped with a kettle, microwave and fridge freezer. 'The Firepit' Café and Bar also serves hot drinks and a selection of beers, wines, ciders and spirits. The converted horse box bar is sited next to a communal covered gazebo over a large fire pit to keep warm on chillier evenings. Dogs are welcome onsite when on the lead, and they will love running through the surrounding countryside!
