Lovely

Our first time here, we loved it. The dog walk was great and the pub was 10 minute walk away Everything was just lovely, I have no idea why others have said electric was expensive? We only put £2 in the meter for 2 nights! The Highland cows are stunning 💕 I highly recommend going here, no children which is nice! I will say that there are irresponsible dog owners that did not pick up their doggy doodles despite the owners asking you to! But we did pick up ours and other dogs doodles on our walk, so take extra dog doodle bags with you and help the farmer keep it clean!

Beautiful site and location

Beautiful location. Well kept site with a lot of investment already made, in terms of pitches and facilities, and ongoing works. It was a little confusing when we first arrived, to find the pitches we'd booked, but a combination of other 'campers' and Nick the Manager soon pointed us in the right direction.

Fantastic site

Excellent CL site. Great facilities. Sauna was amazing overlooking the Highland Cows 🤩 Beautiful views and pitches are large. Great pub Robinsons Red Lion within walking distance, and the food was outstanding. We will definitely be back.

Peaceful site in a good location

This was our first trip away in our new caravan. We found the site to be clean and well positioned for a peaceful break. We enjoyed the views of Jodrell Bank as well as walking our dog on the designated farm walk. The owner was very responsive when needed. We would visit again and would recommend to others.

Great site

Great site. All amenities well looked-after. Friendly staff. Site was quiet because it was January, but we had everything we needed. Very handy for major roads, several towns, and of course, Manchester.

Alpaca pod

Really enjoyed our stay at Welltrough Hall Farm, the pod was really clean when we arrived, most essentials were provided. It was nice, peaceful and overall a lovely place to stay for the weekend. People on site were easy to contact if we needed anything and were very helpful.

Beautiful views

Beautiful views across Cheshire and over to Jodrell Bank. Facilities were nice and clean and kept that way throughout the day. We were on pitch 22 which has the alpaca field surrounding it and they, along with numerous squirrels kept us entertained. We did have trouble with our water supply freezing but it was -5 at night, so can't be helped. We loved the peace and quiet and will definitely be returning.

Amazing

An absolutely amazing place, the staff was lovely and we did the 19th till the 21st in the Shepard's hut. I generally couldn't fault any part, the staff are 100 percent there if you need them and the hot tub was lovely, clean and warm. The hut was spotless inside and out, booked again for next year, great price.

Lovely views

Stayed there while visiting family in Macclesfield. A bit remote for us in future but a beautiful site overall. Facilities all lovely and clean and great communication from the owner giving loads of info. Well worth visiting.

Lovely peaceful site in nature

We stayed 2 nights, it was good not to have to check in at reception and go straight to finding a nice pitch. All pitches had lovely views. the alpacas and highland cattle were a bonus. There is a farm walk to take your dog. Good to have a car to travel to the local pub.

Nice site

Not a bad site, but you'll really need to be good at levelling your van.Take plenty of blocks and make sure your handbrake is good. Oh, and take lots of £1 coins as the electric is on a meter and expensive at 49p a K/W. I spent over £5 and only ran an oil radiator over 1 night and the water heater for shower periodically, as they were at the top of the hill. Won't be returning.

Thank you for your review, although disappointing. I do have extra large leveling blocks on site if you are struggling, most guests seem to manage. I do have a coin vending machine which takes banknotes or card, so no need to bring lots of coins. You are not correct on the meter rate, it's 39p/kwh which includes vat which is stated on your pre arrival email, you are only paying for what you use, oil radiators are expensive to use.

Fantastic site. Well looked after. We didn't need the services of the owner for any reason but if we had he was around and would have been easily contactable at anytime am sure. We will definitely be coming back and have already recommended the site to friends already.

Great little campsite

Fantastic spot for peace and quiet, lovely views, great for walking the dogs. Really enjoyed it would definitely use again.

Very peaceful and relaxing site

Enjoyed a relaxing and peaceful stay. Large pitches with great views. Very clean toilets and showers spread around the site. We enjoyed the walk around the farm fields and watching the Alpacas. The metered electricity was fair (cost us £1 for an overnight stay using kettle, toaster, fridge, tv and lighting). Great value for money stay.

Value for money

First time using this campsite, excellent service. Very peaceful, didn't hear a sound during the night. Very clean, staff very helpful, we'll defo go again.

Beautiful, peaceful location

The pod is in a beautiful location on a quiet and peaceful farm. There was only 1 small problem with our stay. The main one was the state of the bed. The sheets had stains and hairs on them. Luckily we'd brought our own bedding so this didn't matter too much. But it slightly spoiled the first impression.

Our stay

Stayed for 2 nights with slightly sloping gravel pitch with hook up. Quiet and clean. Nice showers and toilets but nowhere for washing dishes.

Brilliant rural location

Excellent place to stay, especially if you like walking. The facilities are really amazing. The red lion pub does amazing food with the parmesan and truffle chips so incredibly good.

Nice stay

We struggled to find this campsite as the sign was set right back and covered in foliage, making it impossible to see. We went past it and it was a nightmare to turn around and go back with the caravan in tow. Sign should be placed closer to Roadside. Getting into the site was easy enough and we managed to get pitch 8 which had fantastic views, but only the grass pitches and pitches 7-9 have the views. The other are all behind a fence or hedge and are all close together with no real views or sense of privacy! It is adults only, but there are lots of dog owners and it's quite noisy at times with barking. Only 2 very basic toilet shower blocks. Overall, enjoyed the stay and views, but don't think we'll be going back as we prefer a much smaller and quieter site.

Thank you for your slightly disappointing review, unfortunately I'm not allowed to put signage on council owned property. I do put the postcode and what 3 words on the pre-arrival email, comments I have had over the years have stated that all the pitches have fantastic views and are very well spaced out so I'm not sure what you mean on that. Dogs are welcome but I'm afraid I can't control if they bark or not ;)
