About the site

Providing an idyllic stop off in quiet Shropshire countryside, this site offers spacious touring pitches and a unique opportunity to experience authentic farm life. The family run working farm has a rich history, cultivated by the same family in Frodesley for over 120 years. Dedicated to continuing traditional mixed farming methods, this site ensures a rural experience for its guests. Visitors can witness the daily rhythm of farm life with the variety of animals roaming the fields or admire the dark skies sitting under the stars from their pitch. Enjoy the well stocked carp fishing lake onsite, a peaceful pastime for anglers. The eight hardstanding touring pitches cater to campervans, caravans, and motorhomes. Each provides plenty of space, measuring 7m x 5m, accompanied by a 16 amp electric and water hook up. 15 minutes away from Shrewsbury town, this site is ideally located for families to unwind and relax. A well behaved dog is welcome, provided they are kept on a lead (subject to charge). BBQs are permitted if kept raised off the ground and attended by an adult at all times. Fire pits are not permitted.

The Shepherd's Loft is open from 13/02 to 02/11. Pitches from £25/night for 2 people.

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Touring PitchesApr 2026

Unfortunately, we choose this location for the peace which was nice and beautiful surroundings. The site however is very poor, the ground is just hardcore and very bricky, there is one toilet and 1 shower for all 8 pitches to share. They were very dirty and only saw cleaned once for literally 1 min. Never saw the owners. No lights at the pitches at all.

Site's response

Thank you for your feedback. We're pleased to hear you enjoyed the peaceful setting and surrounding area. We would like to clarify a few points raised in your review. You had informed us prior to arrival that you would be arriving late, and as a young family ourselves, we had already settled our children for the evening, which is why we did not meet you in person on arrival. All of our pitches are stoned hardstanding, as clearly advertised. They are not brick-based, but are designed to provide a solid and practical surface suitable for touring units. Our bathroom facilities are cleaned regularly. While you may not have seen us during your stay, this is likely due to the long hours we work behind the scenes to maintain the site to a good standard. Each pitch is equipped with lighting. We were not made aware of any issues with lighting, or any other concerns during your stay. Sharon had previously contacted us by message to confirm details about the pitch, so we are particularly disappointed that no concerns were raised with us at the time, as we would have been more than happy to help and resolve any issues promptly. Finally, we would like to confirm that the site has a single toilet and shower facility, as clearly stated in our listing prior to booking. As a small family-run site, the enjoyment of our guests is extremely important to us. If there are ever any issues during a stay, we always welcome guests to let us know at the time so we can address and resolve them as quickly as possible. We appreciate your comments and will continue to work hard to provide the best experience possible for all our guests.

What a wonderful place

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Touring PitchesMar 2026

This is a really lovely small site that is dog friendly. Beautiful views over the countryside. Our only problem was the shower, which didn't really get hot. Otherwise, thoroughly recommended.
