Absolute gem of a campsite! Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2025 An utterly stunning location for a campsite. The views are incredible.
The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the coffee van on site is brilliant (the Glamorgan sausage sandwiches we had for breakfast on our final morning were brilliant). The shower and toilet facilities are clean and well maintained, as is the pot washing area. The bonus of the local pub delivering food to your pitch is definitely welcome too (the burgers were a godsend after hiking one of the hard routes up Pen y Fan)!
We will definitely visit again and hopefully bring friends to enjoy it next time too.

Lovely site but not for me Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2025 Lovely site overall, I just didn't think much of the way it was organized, felt like everyone was too cramped next to each other.
We were situated on the road, this wouldn't of been my first go to if I had to choose a pitch. We had a good few days though 🙂
Owners were lovely and was helpful when we needed help or had a question, but not sure if I'd visit this site again in the future.
Perfect half term break Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Grass Covered Hardstanding Pitches (Awnings) Oct 2024 Perfect spot for a damp autumn half term. Good gravel pitches, plenty of warm water in the showers, a very well-stocked shop and a coffee/breakfast van! A very well-equipped site with such a warm, friendly welcome and beautiful views.
Loads to do in local area. Hikes of varying difficulty, Big Pit and Ironworks museums, mooching around little towns (Shepherd's Ice Cream in Abergavenny is 👌🏼) or just sitting round your fire pit listening to the trickling stream and watching the sunset behind the hills.
Excellent site Recommends site
Motorhome - Grass Covered Hardstanding Pitch (No Awnings) Oct 2024 There was a bit of a mix-up over the booking, but it was very nice and clean. The owners were friendly and accommodating.
So relaxing Recommends site
Twin Axle Caravan - Gravel Pitches (Awnings) Oct 2024 Such a great little site. The site is on a slope, but pitches are all level.
Perfect Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Gravel Pitches (No Awnings) Oct 2024 I've had 2 trips, staying altogether for 5 nights and I can't praise this place enough.
The guys who work tirelessly to maintain and accommodate are the most fun and friendly staff, and actually make you feel like family whist you enjoy your stay.
Location is beautiful with clean facilities pot wash, laundry room, sauna (which I've vowed to try next time) a well stocked shop on site, and even a mini trailer for breakfasts snacks and local ales!
I'm a dirty, grubby mountain biker, so the trails and bike parks including bike park wales, dirt farm, are only 30 mins drive. The pub is nice too, and it's only 5 mins walk, which one gets 10% off if you stay here! Perfect. This will be my wales hub every time I head to the bike parks. I highly recommend it.

VW-Type Campervan - Gravel Pitches (Awnings) Sep 2024 Great welcome, especially as it was wet and dark! Brilliant camp shop. Will be back.
A nice campsite in a good location Recommends site
Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2024 We enjoyed our stay at the campsite. The staff were friendly and very helpful. They have a nice shop. We were placed down the bottom of the campsite where we had a large pitch and had plenty of space, it was quiet.
We were quite close to a main road which was busy throughout the day.
The only thing we didn't like is that the campsite allowed someone to check in at 21:45pm. They then pitched their tent opposite us for the next two hours while we tried to sleep. Considering the campsite has a no noise policy after 10pm, this was a bit frustrating. Whatever the reason, they were allowed to check in so late, it would have been appreciated if they could have been given a pitch further away from other campers to reduce the noise but unfortunately were set up directly opposite us.

Camping Pod - Log Pods (Dog Friendly) Sep 2024 The campsite is located in a gorgeous valley. The view from our pod was beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The campsite has a lovely shop and a mini-mobile-café, where one can get breakfast and coffees. The facilities are comfortable and super clean.
Excellent facilities, friendly and accommodating staff Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2024 My first solo camp (except for 2 canine companions). Fortunately, I felt very safe.
Campsite is very well maintained and clean. Loved that beer is served when the local pub is closed (Mondays and Tuesdays), although I didn't partake. I was camped at the bottom and road noise was an issue the first night, but not so much the second night.
When I return, I'll definitely stay longer, as there is too much to do and see for such a short trip. The local pub looks well worth supporting.
Loved that besides the spotless bathrooms and showers, there is a dishwashing station, and shop, plus beverage van. Alas, I couldn't get Wi-Fi to work, but that's possibly my provider, which is the only one that works in my rural Wiltshire home.
Anyway, I recommend highly, particularly after reading the negative reviews, which means management kick out trouble makers. Very reassuring.

Shepherd's Hut - Shepherd's Huts Sep 2024 This campsite offers a calm and peaceful atmosphere.
The facilities available are very good. I opted for a hut that included private bathroom for added convenience. Each hut is equipped with a portable heater to maintain a warm environment.
For those who enjoy coffee in the morning, a breakfast stall is available on-site.
Additionally, there is a cozy community pub located just a 10-minute walk away, providing a great option for socializing or enjoying a meal.

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2024 Wonderful 3 nights stay in my VW van! 35 mins from Bike Park Wales, a nice pub and wonderful location. The owners and crew have worked tirelessly to keep this place in wonderful condition and it pays off. A really well stocked shop with local beer on tap! What more can one ask! I shall return.
A gorgeous campsite Recommends site
Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2024 We absolutely loved our stay at Cwmdu Campsite. We were greeted when we arrived by Chris who showed us to our pitch and explained where all of the facilities are.
The pitch was an excellent size, all of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the showers/toilets were absolutely spotless. The showers have great pressure and are at just the right temperature.
There is a shop on site that sells the essentials, along with some gorgeous locally sourced food and drink. There is also a small food trailer that do the best bacon sandwiches and a caramel latte to die for!
There are other facilities such as laundry and dish washing, they even have a dog shower, which we had to use for our pooch after a visit to the beach.
Overall, we would say it is one of the best sites we have ever stayed on and we will definitely be back.

VW-Type Campervan - Gravel Pitches (Awnings) Jun 2024 We really enjoyed our short stay at Cwmdu. The plot was spacious & with great views. There was a coffee pod open from 9 and the shop was amazing. Pub down the road. Can't recommend enough.
