Great no-frills campsite

Ideal basic facilities without the trimmings. Clean toilets, hot water, showers and washing up facilities. No laundry. A pleasant quiet field well away from main roads with views across the valley. Within easy reach of both St Ives and Penzance with St Michael's Mount 25 minutes away. The friendly farmer gives personal service. Dogs are not allowed which suits some people. There are no animals in the toilets, no mess on the grass and no noise at night. There is an indoor hostel associated with the farm. We would book again if we wanted to return to the area.

Great stay

I took three of my grandchildren here for a sort camping experience. The proprietor was very friendly and helpful, throughout our stay. The amenities are kept clean and tidy. Wonderful views and peaceful.

Great campsite, friendly owner, all the facilities are clean and well looked after. Can't fault a thing.

Perfect short stay camp!

We had a wonderful stay at this campsite. Relaxed and built on trust, the campsite allows you to pitch where you want, borrow fire buckets and pay when you can (next day for example). The showers were hot and clean and loo roll always in the toilets. Overall, it was simple but perfect for a short stay and exactly how it was advertised. Owner was sometimes around if you needed anything but never bothered you or got in your way. Site felt very relaxed and friendly. Location was a drive from the beach but we found a £5 all day car park in a church just 10 minutes away. Then it was about a 20 minute walk to the main St Ives beaches! I'd definitely stay here again!

Great campsite

A really great campsite! Though facilities are limited, they're everything you could need for a camping trip (pot wash, wetsuit washing area, showers, toilets). We had a really wonderful time with our toddler, and will definitely visit again!

Simple and good

A basic but well arranged campsite with everything one needs. There were warm showers and the owners were friendly. It can be quite misty and dewy, being so close to the sea.

Nice remote tent only camp ground

We enjoyed our stay. Facilities were always clean. Showers hot. Had the luxury to share the site with just a handful of tents. Great spot to visit St Ives, Penzance and Porthcurno.

Great site in the heart of Cornwall. The manager Russell was friendly and helpful. The site was peaceful and clean with nice hot showers. Would recommend.

All basic needs met and a lovely welcome from the owner

Beautiful farm fields in a middle location to St Ives and Penzance. The owner was super friendly and helpful. Choice of fire pits and charge points for phones.

Perfect campsite!

The perfect campsite for your stay in Cornwall. In a great location for travelling to different towns and beaches by car and many local amenities close by. Easy to locate and a warm welcome on arrival. The campsite has every facility you will need onsite, from lovely hot showers (which are thoroughly cleaned daily), toilets, charging facilities, freezer, washing up station with sponges & washing up liquid...couldn't ask for more from a campsite! Plus, the host is friendly and available if you need assistance during your stay.

Great location

Beautiful views and sceneries from campsite location, close to all proximity of places to go and visit. Very peaceful and relaxing campsite. All facilities were clean and I would recommend. And very good value for money also. Thank you for our stay.

Peaceful

This was our second stay at Lower Penderleath and this time it was slightly less busy than before, which suited us better. The view is great, as is the location because it's only a short drive into St Ives and walking distance to the local pub. The facilities are basic but functional, perfectly adequate and Russell cleans them throughout the day. Just a few too many cobwebs in the corners for my liking!

Lovely place to stay, up in the hills and close to St Ives. Amenities are clean and well maintained. Russell gave a friendly welcome on the day I arrived. Would recommend!

Amazing camp site

Russel and staff were very welcoming. We ended up staying for a 7th night. Very clean facilities and lots of pitches for tents. Well located. Would gladly stay again. Estelle and Mark

Spacious, quiet and great location

Lovely quiet, spacious campsite. Plenty of room between tents, choose your own spot in 2 fields. Plenty of hot showers, toilets and wash basins. All are cleaned regularly, maintained and kept tidy. Rain showers are lovely! Charging is available for £1 and can rent an adapter to use electricity for your hairdryer etc. No fridges or freezers available. Fires are allowed off ground. Balloon pub is 15 minutes walk and easy to find. The food looks good, but we didn't eat there. Carbis Bay Beach is a 7minutes drive, St Ives is 10 minutes. All the staff were friendly and available till early evening. Happy to help you and always polite. Taxis come to the site, and numbers are provided in the hut, along with other local information. We will definitely stay here again if we come to the area.

Excellent campsite

Excellent campsite, clean and organised facilities. Amazing showers and toilets. Will make this my go to campsite in Cornwall.

Too basic and too far

Field has good views but facilities are basic: toilets and showers look grotty even though they are reasonably clean. There is a busy youth hostel there. As parking is almost impossible in St Ives and due to the location of this camping, you need to go on the bus which is fine, but info, times etc could have been provided by manager who told us to "Google it". Other camping sites provide a notice board with maps, bus times and general useful information. Manager was nice but a little short with us. We decided to leave. We toured all around Cornwall and it was the first time we had to leave a camping site.

Site's response

Our toilets and showers are cleaned daily and we have tourist information on a notice board in reception but you need a QR scanner to read the attractions. Buses run to campsites for short periods of the year only and change the time table. Taxis come here all the time and the taxi phone numbers are at reception.
