Beautiful little gem

This beautiful camping / caravan park is a definite must see. Exceptionally clean and tidy. Lovely marina packed with narrow boats. Beautiful dog walks, lots of open space. We parked our camper van of the very well maintained camping field. Very flat and ground you can get your pegs into. Very spacious pitch. Fantastic liscenced cafe 9.30am - 4.30pm with beautiful food. My only gripe is checkout is 11am I would have liked a bit longer. that said I am booking again after writing this review. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Great

Great site the toilet block could do with just toilets not just wet rooms, as all the floor area is soaked, not great if you just need to use the toilet, could do with knowing if the toilet facilities are occupied the only way of knowing is checking all the doors.(no vacant/or non vacant signs). Also I found the steps up to the toilet block very narrow they could do with being double width. We would certainly stay again though.

Excellent stay - will be back !

A perfect place for a last minute overnight stay. Great facilities including a very nice bar / food area with the added bonus of a singer in the late afternoon. We will definitely come back and stay for longer!

Lovely canal side campsite

A lovely campsite in a beautiful location. We stayed on a non-electric grass pitch which was in a large open field with plenty of pitch choices and a lot of space between pitches. The gravel pitches had EHU but not as nice an area, we liked being in a more open space with lovely views. Lots of great walks in the area, some along the canal tow path. As it's a marina, there are lots of boats and barges moored which create a very peaceful atmosphere. It is also possible to hire an electric boat for 3 hours (£95) so that you can explore the canal network. We didn't have time to do this but definitely will on our next visit. There is a licensed cafe on site with a good food selection. When we visited there was a programme of live music every Saturday afternoon from 3pm - 5pm and it was lovely to sit outside with a drink and listen to a local singer/ songwriter. We had excellent full English breakfasts the following morning sat outside at the side of the marina. The coffee is really good too. The cafe shuts at 4:30pm or 5pm though which is a little disappointing as an evening meal there would have been really nice. There were 8 combined shower, toilet and washbasin rooms for the campsite. We really liked this idea as it saves moving from one area to another with your towels, toiletries etc. However, at certain times of the day these rooms were quite dirty with muddy footprints, toilet paper and water on the floor and no way of cleaning it up before you could use the room. Some campsites have mops and buckets or similar to enable you to clean up before you leave the area. We really enjoyed our one night stay and will definitely return for a longer stay in the future, especially as it's open all year round.

Fantastic weekend

We had an amazing weekend at this brilliant campsite! Nice field that was quiet at night and the showering facilities were fantastic! All facilities really close to where everyone stays, whether in a tent or motorhome. You can take a little walk round where the boats are, which is nice and a cafe looking out over them too. We didn't stop at the cafe but it looked really nice. Looking forward to returning! I must give a specific shout out to Tom, who gave my car a jump start when we were leaving, He was super helpful, going above and beyond for us!

Little gem

Lovely place to stay. Very clean. Toilets and showers are immaculate. Staff very helpful and friendly. Will definitely stay again.

Very nice stay

The site was very nice and the facilities were very good. Live music in the evenings, cafe on site, very good customer service, nice backdrop. Would definitely start again.

Beautiful location

Beautiful site. Lovely and quiet. Staff at the lakeside cafe were so helpful, really amazing service. Great band on Saturday afternoon. Only feedback I have was there was no staff member around in the evening to clean toilets or replenish toilet roll.
