Fantastic site!

Absolutely fantastic site, staff all lovely and helpful. Staff regularly found around the site, facilities a little dated is the only room for improvement!

Not impressed

Positives are location and large size pitch. Minuses are for size of campsite. Not enough shower blocks, whose opening hours need to be extended. Toilet and shower blocks were dirty and not cleaned enough during the day's use. No hair drying facility and no phone charging points. Shop was great but daughter in law took back 2 out of date items - pot noodle and mouldy bread. I feel for the price paid, the standard was not quite up to scratch and that's comparing to other sites I have used over the years.

Lovely beach but won't be returning

Just back from a week's stay at Waxham Sands, and whilst not a terrible site, I certainly would not return or recommend as some major changes are needed. And here's why. Firstly I'll start with saying the positives. The beach is stunning, lovely clean and 5-10 minutes walk up a steep sand dune. Reasonably well spaced out pitches. The coffee van every morning was great and fairly priced too. One of the children's parks is great, and lots of field space to play ball games. We also thought the borrow a bucket & spade box the site had was a brilliant idea and think all sites should implement this as nothing worse than buying a plastic bucket & spade and taking them home to never be used again! But here come the negatives. The main problem was the facilities are poor! Outdated (supposedly upgraded this year?), an open drain runs through all the showers that smelled, it had people's empty bottles (admittedly that's a problem by messy, lazy guests) and clumps of hair. The ceiling of the showers and all the grout around the tiles in the showers seemed mouldy. Cleaners were on site only twice a day, which clearly wasn't enough, and both toilets and showers were filthy throughout most of the day. There are only 8 showers with changing areas, so in the evening, we experienced queues. This wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for the fact the showers are closed at 9pm. The toilets were far too small and narrow, especially as this is a family site. We had a toddler with us and it was a tight squeeze to get us and them into a cubicle. The 'laundrette' was one very over priced washing machine and one dryer for the whole site. The site shop was far too over priced and badly stocked - very few fresh items. 1 litre UHT milk £2.50, pack of ham £7. Given that the nearest supermarket was 20/25 minutes away, you had to rely on the site shop for the fresh items that you ended up paying far too much for. Also, don't recommend taking kids in there as it'll cost you a fortune if they fancy a treat! It's sad really, as it has potential but unfortunately, I feel that some major changes are needed.

3 night stay

We stayed at this park last year. The pitch we had was a brilliant location for the beach. This time, loved the fish and chip van on-site. It saved us from looking for dinner on arrival! The toilets were spotless, I didn't use the showers but my partner said they were lovely. Shop is well stocked up and pitches were plenty big enough! Just wished we could have used our fire pit!

Unfortunately, we do not allow fire pits on the pitching field for fire safety reasons but we do have a warden-controlled communal fire pit near our Safari tent and Warren food area. Fantastic site with beautiful beach

Very well maintained site with ample shower, toilet and washing up facilities. A lovely woodland walk, kids playgrounds and an amazing beach. Different food vendors on some evenings and a well stocked site shop which is most welcome, as the site is very remote. Great place to stay if you want an escape, but if you want to visit the seaside resorts and local attractions then it is a drive. We stopped off for lunch in Poppylands which is about 2 miles away - a lovely little spot and very unique experience.

A lovely beachside setting

Site was large, but quiet considering the amount of pitches & people there! Walk over the dunes to observe the seal colony was magical 🤗 Nature at its best. Took a walk to the local pub (about 1.5 miles away). However, the site had takeaway food caravans, coffee van & ice-cream van on the weekend whilst we were there. Lovely touches such as a communal tent with board games & tables for groups/families to eat/drink/play, especially if the weather turned. Lovely clean facilities: toilet & washing up blocks dotted around the site, shower block for everybody at the guest services entrance. Would recommend.

Relaxing stay

Good flat site with toilets, water nearby and electricity if required. Steep, but nearby access to the lovely beach. Sandy site so consider for tent pegs. Regular maintenance rounds. Nice toilet facilities. Pleasant location. Friendly staff. Lots of returning visitors. Would definitely stay again, thank you!

Perfect family campsite

Fantastic site. It was our first camping trip with our two young daughters and we couldn’t be happier. Highlight was the beach 5 minutes away where you see so many seals swimming close to the shore! We will return!

Wonderful

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of walks onsite for dogs including a lovely wild meadow not to mention the paths on sandhills. The beautiful beach is just beyond the sandhills. The sandhills and steps down to the beach could be troublesome for those with knee problems. The seals were wonderful to watch. The onsite shop is well stocked, prices are a little expensive but that's usually the case. Staff were always busy keeping the lawned areas trim and cleaning toilets and showering areas. The showers were always free when I wanted to use them. I found the signal strength fluctuated a lot but took the opportunity to read a book or sit in my awning where I could usually get a signal. Be warned the bugs bite. Take plenty of insect repellent, some hydrocortisone cream and or bite relief cream. If not, the on site shop sells it. Already planning my next visit.

Excellent

First time here and it was brilliant! If there were any issues the staff were easygoing and not rude/telling off, which for me was a huge plus! They have everything, I couldn't have been more impressed. It's not a party campsite so it's quiet after 11pm … will be back this summer :) Thank you!

Great seaside campsite

Top marks - brilliant location, and a very friendly welcome from the moment we arrived. Really well-maintained site, toilets and showers kept spotless throughout our stay, even as it got busier towards the weekend. Short walk to the dunes for spectacular sunrises and sunsets. If there could be a place for campers not on electric sites to charge mobile phones that would be great, but we managed... Hope to visit again soon!

Excellent

Really lovely site. Clean facilities and friendly staff. There's a nice little shop, a bar and different food vendors in the evening. There's also a Wi-Fi zone, which is really handy as there is next to no signal there. The place is beautiful and backs right onto the dunes then beach. We will be back!

Our stay

We had a lovely time. The staff were very helpful and pleasant, everywhere was clean and a great location. The position of the site was perfect next to the dunes and a little woodland walk, great for dogs. Especially enjoyed watching the seals!

Great find!

We're delighted to discover this site. Very friendly, super location although nothing close by (which is not a problem). Lots of walking and a small selection of food vans and a weekend bar. Facilities basic but clean. On the weekend, the park gets very busy - great for kids, but you may want to go midweek if you prefer a quieter break.

Perfect for beach access!

We had a very enjoyable stay at Waxham Sands, in our motorhome. Check in was easy and the grass pitch was nice and level. EHU within easy reach and water points close by. We found the shower (plenty of hot water) and toilet blocks to be clean as was the utility area. No drive over grey waste so emptied into a bucket and disposed of as directed. Pleasant staff, always smiling and chatty. Great access over the dunes to the beach and just a ten minute walk to Horsey Gap. Lovely shop selling essentials, ice creams and gifts and the pop up food vans over the weekend (including a bar) were an added bonus. Very quiet when we arrived on the Thursday but the numbers did swell over the weekend, making it a more lively place, clearly a popular choice with families! Only down side really is you need transport to get out and about from here, but other than that, we loved it!

Fantastic site!

This was our second visit in as many weeks, and it was just as amazing as our first visit. The organisation, cleanliness, facilities and staff are all fantastic! Lovely campsite

Lovely, clean campsite. Well organised. Staff welcome you at check-in and are a pleasure to deal with. We had a lovely tent pitch, spacious. Facilities are cleaned regularly. Shop is well stocked and convenient. Easy access to the beach and lovely sighting of the seals. Will definitely return.

Great site, would definitely go back

First time been here, loved it. From the moment we checked in to when we left, the staff are amazing. The on-site shop has everything you need and more, and has very good prices. The pitches are a great size, so you are not all on top of one another. The toilets and showers are very clean. The 2 ladies in the golf cart go around cleaning the toilets/showers throughout the day. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. The whole area is extremely clean and looked after. There was a food van, a cocktail/alcohol drinks van and an ice cream van if you don't feel like cooking dinner! The site loves animals, there's a doggy spa, doggy treats outside the shop, and doggy ice cream/yoghurt. I would definitely recommend and will definitely be back. See you soon!
