VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 Area is perfect especially if you plan on climbing any of the mountains round here. Lake very nice food cheap enough. Recommended site. Will be back next time I want to climb pen y fan.

Small Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 It was my first time in Wales travelling from the midlands.
Booked it just days before arriving, so was very happy to get a pitch that was available with a electric hook up, as I did my research to see which site I'd prefer for a base and this one definitely stood out for me!
We wanted to visit Pen y Fan & The Four Waterfalls. It was the perfect location for a base and easy to get to and from this site. You will see continuous beautiful scenery around. Lakeside is very clean, the individual showers are really good with the toilets within the same space. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
It's great for dogs, with fields to walk through and say hi to the sheep whilst you pass through. And not to mention the beautiful lake. Seeing the horses coming onto the site was so lovely to see.
It's certainly the site I will be returning in the near future and I've already recommended it to family and friends.
It did not disappoint, thank you for a lovely stay and experience.

The shop near the site is very friendly, likewise the bar. A lot of large groups arrived with a full scale rugby match going on into the late evening. But it is school holidays, lmao.
Would come back, not in the holiday period.

Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 This was our second stay at lakeside caravan park and I must say it's a wonderful place, great size shop, good choice of ice creams, cafe and a bar what more could you need.
I love how the ducks visit you each morning and that the horses Rome free.
The service was exceptional we needed an extra lead for the hook up they was quick to help out and lent us one for the stay..wonderful we will be back again soon

The site was spectacular, very spacious with horses roaming around and plenty of room to walk the dog. A nice bar with live music on Saturdays and the café is lovely too. Would we go back? Absolutely.

Love the individual bathrooms, but they were a bit grubby.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2026 This was a site with good amenities - a shop, cafe, play area, lots of showers/toilets, etc.
It has a lake for water sports and the local village has a great pub for dinner (The Red Lion). I would say the site is good for big groups of older children and adults, as it caters to groups of large children (e.g. on DofE). If you are looking for a small/peaceful site, this would not be suitable.
Unfortunately, we attended in a heat wave and were not able to swim in the lake due to blue/green algae.

First camping trip
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Touring Pitches Jul 2026 We stayed in our campervan in Ernie's Field and it was lovely and quiet.
We had direct access to the field to walk to the café and lake which was perfect with the dog. All facilities were very clean and well kept. It was a shame that it is not possible to walk around the lake and for the dog to have access for a swim, but this is not a reflection on the campsite, just flagging for people to understand the location better.

Great site, quiet, clean, spacious and friendly. A great base for exploring the Brecon Beacons. We have no complaints and we will be back again soon.
