Great base campsite from which to explore Cornwall

Very clean campsite with great washroom facilities. Good sized pitch for our hook-up tent. We enjoyed the breakfast bagels most mornings and the pizza from the van was also excellent. Only downside was a very noisy car that drove up and down the main road frequently and late into the night.

Accommodating, clean and great location

I have stayed at many campsites over my years, this was by far the best. The toilets were modern and clean, the showers were spacious, clean and hot. The site was tidy and the shop was well stocked. The owners were friendly and accommodating. There were things to do on site, from visiting the animal area, picking your own herbs from their 'open to all' herb garden or visiting the park. The pitches were a good size and the toilet blocks are easy to get to for everyone. They even have a kitchen available for washing/ hot drinks/ microwaving etc! Very happy! Will definitely come again!

Great stay

Had an excellent stay. Very clean, dog friendly in a great location for Perranporth and Newquay.

Lovely campsite

Lovely campsite: clean, good facilities, great location and lovely welcome to the site. Would recommend for van camping and tents.

Weekend away

Really nice location and little spot on the corner. Showers and toilets were lovely. Really loved the budgies!

Wonderful stay

Enjoyed our stay in this nice place. Especially in the pod that we stayed in for 2 nights. It has all the things needed to have a comfortable stay. Staff are helpful and friendly. Place is clean. Really worth it, will recommend to friends.

Nice quiet stay

Great location. Lots of walks straight from the site and into Perranporth. I stayed out of school holidays and the site was well run, clean and quiet.

Great stay will be back

Great stay at this campsite, exceptionally clean and tidy. Perfect for visiting other places with the bus stop just outside the park and a sort walk into Perranporth through the golf course. You must visit the small caravan coffee shop on site, they make great coffee and the tastiest bagels I’ve had. The two lads are also great for local knowledge.

Very pleased

A very warm welcome when we arrived and extremely helpful. The site and facilities were very clean a credit to the staff. A really enjoyable stay well worth the visit.

Very nice caravan park

We had a fully serviced hardstanding pitch in the willow field. Very nice, clean, quiet Caravan Park. Facilities were great and the site was well maintained. If visiting the local beach, it is best to drive and park down in Perranporth, due to the long steep hill that the site it situated on top of, especially with young children. 5-7 mins drive away, there is a local shop (Co-Op), which is very convenient. The site also has a fish and chip van arrive on certain days (very nice food). Definitely well worth a visit - 5*****

Enjoyable stay

Stayed for one night, good price, toilet block clean and tidy. Would definitely come back.

Brilliant spot

Great spot, friendly hosts and wardens. Everything you need close to the coast. Walking through the nearby golf course and across the dunes takes you straight into Perranporth in around 15-20 mins. Facilities immaculate. Definitely a great place to spend a few nights.

Lovely setting with good sized pitches. Lots of wildlife around, rabbits and birds in abundance as well as their own small animal park. The showers and toilets were immaculate, and although push button showers, totally understandable as most of Cornwall is metered, the water was hot. This was very welcome and rare. I thought the Wi-Fi was a tad expensive and the shop was very limited, but that could be because it was the start of the season. I would have thought milk would have been available. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and visible or on call every day. The views and surrounding area were great, loads of dog walking and the dogs are made very welcome on site . Close enough to walk to the local beach at Perranporth, but there is a bus service right on the doorstep.

Long walk to beach and restaurant

If you have any mobility issues or can't use public transport then please look for something closer.

Thank you for the review. I think "it's a long walk" really depends on the person walking, you can walk to the beach or town in 15 minutes. In fact, I do it in less than that most days to the beach with my dogs, but I do walk fast. Perranporth Golf Club's clubhouse is about 5 minutes walk away and is very welcoming to non members if you want a drink, food or just want a break from the walk. We have two buses an hour past our gates that can take you to and from Perranporth, Newquay, Truro and Falmouth, as well as lots of other stops on the way. Alternatively, Perranporth has loads of car parks, all within a 2 minute drive, with a flat easy walk to the beach/town. Thanks again and hope to see you again soon.

Lovely, clean, friendly site. Lovely walks on your door step, not just for us, our four legged fur babies enjoyed it too.

Lovely friendly campsite, very dog friendly

We stayed here in a rented campervan for the first 2 nights of a week long trip. We arrived after hours so met the warden, who confirmed our pitch details. Luckily we were close to the reception and amenity block, so we didn't have to manoeuvre too much in the dark. The site location is good - at the top of the hill as you enter Perranporth, it is a 15 min or so walk down the hill past the golf course - there is a footpath away from the road so it's great if you want to leave the car/van at the campsite. If you are too tired for the walk back, there is a half-hourly bus service which stops pretty much right outside. The amenities were ok, I had issues getting hot water in the sink in the morning but my husband said it was ok later in the day, so maybe the boiler took time to kick in? The toilet cubicles are quite small, overall the facilities are adequate but a little tired perhaps. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the site had a relaxed feel (helped by the fact it was the end of the season so probably much quieter than in the height of summer), we'd stay again due to the vibe and the location.

Trip in the motorhome

Stayed before. Not too far a walk down to the town of Perranporth. Good site. Shop and reception open every day, handy to have. Free help yourself herb garden. Lovely hot showers, although need a bit updating, which they are doing before next years opening!! Great.

Perfect!

An absolutely beautiful site. Tollgate is spotlessly clean and the staff are very friendly. Pitches are very large. For first time campers, we could not have picked a better site. We will definitely be booking again for next year.

Helpful and friendly staff, lovely site. Good, clean facilities with lots of recycling bins. Handy location near Perranporth with lots of local walks. We enjoyed our stay.
