Just ten minutes from the Lake District National Park, the Larches is a peaceful, adult only site, home to wonderful wildlife and countryside views. Pick between grass and hardstanding pitches, each fully served with designated facilities, allowing both tents and tourers. Dog friendly, the site has previously been awarded four AA Pennants and scooped up gold in the Solway Greens Award. The Solway Coast is also just 20 minutes away for days out!

We just got back from a 5 night stay. Judith and Chris greeted us upon arrival and gave us a very warm welcome and showed us to our pitch. Such lovely people and perfect hosts. The park is superb and set in beautiful, quiet and spacious surroundings. We had a huge perfectly kept pitch, with lots of space between other guests and all services within easy reach. The toilet and shower facilities are the best we've had. All guests are given their own wet room with a lovely high pressure hot shower. This was amazing to come back to in the evenings after long days hiking in the lakes. The location is also perfect for us, just a few miles from the lakes and within easy reach of the coast and the borders. We can't really say enough good things to be honest and absolutely nothing to grumble about. Will definitely be going back.

A warm welcome from Judith who was a wealth of knowledge about the local area. Good views from our hardstanding pitch with electrical hook up and own water tap. Clean facilities in our individually allocated washroom. Nice quiet site, wish we could have stayed longer. Will definitely return.

Judith was so helpful and friendly. The sole use "bathrooms" were great. The Accessible bathroom was very well equipped. I could get my scooter right up to the door. We had fun watching the rabbits. Will definitely be coming back.

Our one-night stay at this campsite in our campervan was truly unforgettable. The owner's warm and friendly welcome, coupled with the thoughtful gesture of an engagement card upon learning about our recent engagement, added a special touch to our experience. The amazing facilities, including our own dedicated toilet and power shower, exceeded our expectations and provided a touch of luxury to our camping adventure. We highly recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a fantastic getaway and plan to return for a longer stay in the future.

We were met on arrival and given a choice of pitches and were also shown our own dedicated shower/toilet/washroom. If you're looking for a very quiet calm and peaceful site with large spread out pitches, this is the site for you!! The facilities may not be the most modern but they are exceptionally clean. I would not hesitate to stay at this site in the future.

Private, clean and warm bathroom facilities. Amazing showers. Lovely, friendly and accommodating owner. Can't fault the place. Located just outside of the Lake District National Park in a beautiful, rural and quiet location but within a short drive of Kendal, Skiddaw and Silloth Beach.

This is the first time we have stayed at this campsite but we will return in the future for many more visits. The weather was horrendous but we had a sheltered spot with hook-up and we had no issues apart from car getting stuck which to be fair considering the rain, we weren't surprised. This was swiftly dealt with as owner pulled us onto hard surface. The facilities were clean and the bonus being we had our own toilet and shower allocated which was brilliant. As it was end of season, the campsite was quiet which allowed us to relax. Judith is so nice and kind and ensured we had everything we needed, including information about the area. We really enjoyed our stay.

Had a weekend break at the Larches in our Campervan. Really enjoyed it. The campsite was great, good location, very clean and tidy with very good facilities. Our host Julie was great, very helpful with things we could do in the local area and always had time to stop for a chat. Highly recommended and would definitely go back again.

We had a wonderful stay. We were parked beneath a lovely tree and had a warm welcome from the host. Lovely scenic location with rabbits playing nearby. Shower was lovely & warm and nice to have it to yourself.

Peaceful stay at this site, which allowed easy access to everywhere in the surrounding area that we wished to visit. Park pitches were generous, flat and the friendly, helpful owner kindly provided a couple of alternative pitch locations upon our arrival. Facilities are clean and traditional. Water temperature of the shower and the dish cleaning sink (situated in the laundry area) was ideal. Recycling included glass and metal cans. Everything is recycled at our home in Scotland and we on occasion put cardboard, washed plastics in the recycling area also in the hope that these materials could be recycled also. Suggest this is checked with the owner (we continually forgot to check on this arrangement). Torches required for walking the dog and any late night visits to the washroom as pathways are not illuminated which adds to enhanced views of the night sky whilst removing unnecessary energy resources. Keys for bathroom area and site access gate (padlock) provided on arrival. Indoor pool/dog walking area which are indicated on the websites were both not available during our stay. The owner was happy for pets to be exercised on site if on a lead (surrounding working farm land and the squirrels/rabbits onsite would be too much of a tempting chase!). As large tent campers with comforts, we camp regularly and would be happy to visit this site again - no under 18's onsite was also a welcomed and agreeable criteria, which added to the relaxed and peaceful stay.

Really good, quiet park with EHU and superb private amenities. The host was excellent and friendly and really helpful. The site itself is quite isolated and there's no paths along the main road to the nearest pub and getting any form of delivery or taxi is quite a challenge.

This site is second to none, the location is awesome as is the road network to it. The hard standing pitches are level, spacious and fully serviced. The individual washrooms allocated are just the cherry on the cake, best we have experienced in all our years. The family who run the establishment are exlempary, not forgetting there cat. Will definitely be returning (soon).

My wife and I were looking for a relaxed weeks holiday and thanks to Judith and her family we found just that at this lovely quiet site. Despite being right next to a very busy main road the traffic was not a problem. Facilities were lovely and the shop was a veritable gold mine for all your caravan and camping accessories. Will definitely be returning and hopefully soon.
