just a suggestion max would be great if there was a little kiosk or honesty bar for things like water and snacks but wasn’t a big deal at all

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Bank holiday weekend, so very busy site. The owner was friendly and welcoming, constantly on the go replenishing loo rolls, cleaning, delivering fire pits...
The facilities are charming, the location beautiful.

Roof Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 I recently stayed at this campsite and had a lovely time. The location was beautiful, with plenty of greenery and and a farm atmosphere with loads of sheep and cows, along with a relaxing atmosphere that made it easy to unwind. The pitches were well-spaced, giving a good sense of privacy, and the facilities were clean and well-maintained.
Great spot for a peaceful getaway, and I'm definitely going back.
Hidden gem
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 This place is just wonderful. You're on a working farm (but out in your own fields) with the most incredible views. Superb facilities - they must have bought in extra loos as I never queued and it was busy. Showers were fine and only had to wait 5 mins.
Pub serving great food just a short walk away and if you fancy a good hike, Castleton is doable (took us about 3 hours with some very steep bits and plenty of styles). This place really is beautiful and the family that run it are so kind. Highly recommend.

Lovely, simple campsite
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 Just stayed for one (very wet and windy!) night but the facilities were clean, well kept and the location is lovely. Spectacular views all round - I hopey next stay is during weather I can appreciate them more :-)
Great campsite
Roof Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 Sadly our stay was cut short because of storm Dave but the short time we were there the campsite looked amazing. A great location, toilets were clean and the view from the campsite looked great.
We will be booking again to try our luck!

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 This was a great stay. There were some annoying people opposite us being really loud late at night, the owner went over and asked them to be quiet, which we really appreciated.
A superb site for a first camp for a 4-year old
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 A great location for the first camping experience for our 4-year old granddaughter.
The weather was set to be hot, making it ideal for a first camp. Luckily, there was shade provided by a single large tree, which we used for the whole afternoon. There was plenty of space on the two fields, and the views are amazing. It was lovely to watch the sun setting. The facilities are basic, but fine. We enjoyed listening to the sheep and cows, and the donkeys in the next-door field were friendly, and were happy to munch the fresh grass they were fed.
The other campers were friendly, and the site was peaceful all through our stay, despite a couple of groups of young people.
We would certainly return.
Our granddaughter concluded, "I love camping".

Stand out thing was the toilet facilities, very clean and pleasant. Quite a high number of tents on first night and the toilet facilities still immaculate.

Sweet Knoll camping experience
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 Great stay, nice location with pub 10 minute walk, and cute towns within a 15-25 minute drive away. Great facilities, very clean.
We arrived on the Friday and there were two fields, which were both quite busy. However we managed to move our tent on the Saturday morning and had a lot more room as quite a few campers left. Overall it was a brilliant stay and I would recommend.
