Ruby Country camping is a natural eco-campsite in the heart of West Devon, encouraging a connection to nature and is mostly left to untouched. The 5-acre meadow is lined with trees and a brook that gurgles along the southern boundary. The site offers seven spacious camping pitches, along with glamping in a cosy bell tent or charming yurt with plenty of space to relax and enjoy.

Great stay at Ruby Country. Outdoor kitchen/ eating area was very accommodating, didn't have to bring much equipment with me. Yurt was clean and cozy. Campsite nicely spaced out.

Excellent location, setting and facilities. Pitches are spaced apart nicely with wild meadows between, making for a really tranquil experience.

The weather was awful, but the campsite was very nice and the owners made us feel very welcome. The only downside to the site is the busy road next to it, which you can hear, but not see. I would recommend this site for anyone who loves camping in nature.

This site was excellent. Hosts lovely and had thought of everything. Lovely little touches. Loads of space. The only reason I marked then down for facilities is because there is no electric on site, which many people will want, but that is part of the charm of this place.

This is a really brilliant campsite with excellent hosts, facilities and atmosphere. Upon booking, we were swiftly contacted by Dinah & Marc with a friendly message letting us know directions and where to pitch at the campsite. They had popped a little sign with our name next to our pitch and we were surprised to find that we had a great deal of space allocated to ourselves. The campsite itself is very clean, green and at no point during our stay did it feel overcrowded in any way. Each pitch comes with your very own fire pit and Dinah and Marc provided plenty of firewood and kindling for us to enjoy. The loos and showers are without a doubt the nicest that we have ever seen on a campsite. You have a choice between an indoor shower or outdoor shower, both with plenty of hot water (we recommend the outdoor shower, it's absolutely spectacular). There is also shampoo, shower gel, and conditioner that's eco-friendly, which was another lovely touch. There is a communal fire pit towards the bottom of the campsite along with an area for children to play that's slightly away from the tents, as well as a drinking water tap and an area to wash up your dishes. The campsite is dog friendly (must be kept on a lead) which was brilliant for us as we were able to enjoy our stay with our Labrador too. Dinah and Marc come each day to check in on guests, make sure the facilities are clean and also provide local recommendations. We enjoyed our stay so much that in the morning we asked if we could stay another night, which we did! It's really easy to get to the A30 from the campsite and only a short drive to Okehampton and Dartmoor! There is some road noise, but it wasn't something that we particularly noticed once we were there. I highly recommend this campsite, particularly if like us, you're looking for an eco-friendly stay with a bit of luxury! Will definitely be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We received a warm welcome and check in each morning. The site was clean, new and we were all amazed with the open shower. The accommodation was beautiful and kitchen and dinning area well equipped. We were surprised, as we really did just need our clothes and towels. Even the shower toiletries were provided and at an amazing standard. Would highly recommend x

First time staying at this site. Mark and Dinah were great hosts and nothing was too much trouble. They were attentive without being intrusive. The facilities were first rate. Also loved the shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and washing up liquid supplied - wonderful smell and good quality. The open air shower was a treat. We will return!

My wife and I have camped from the Rockie's to the Jungles of Borneo. From the Arctic Circle to South Africa. Seldom have we come across a better campsite than Ruby Country. Sue & Steve PS, really good showers!
