Grass pitches

Pear Tree Farm is a secluded touring site in a peaceful setting, perfect for families looking to relax. There are just five grass pitches with optional electric for caravans and small touring units to park up on, secured by an electronic gate with keypad access. Nestled in the Beaminster Downs in West Dorset and just 20 minutes from Jurassic Coast beaches, this is a great choice for all tourers.

Single Axle Caravan - Grass and Gravel Touring Pitches (Optional Electric)May 2024

We loved Pear Tree Farm. Great location for walking. Garry was very friendly and happy for us to depart later in the day. So peaceful, and a beautiful location. We will return!

Tranquil, scenic, gem of a site

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Grass and Gravel Touring Pitches (Optional Electric)Mar 2024

Pear Tree Farm offers exactly what it says on the tin and much more. We found basic but working and well-planned out facilities, a level gravel-based pitch and a super friendly host who came to check we were settled in and had all we needed. We found complete quiet (except for birds and sheep bleating) and dark skies (except for an epic sunset). Plus there was the security and peace of mind of leaving our van to walk the countryside and at night, when the wind howled and the rain hammered down. The site has lovely views and is surrounded by fields with animals grazing. Just over the horizon, there are even more great views of the Dorset 'playmat' of fields and villages rolling down to the sea. If you like walking, this is a fabulous site. There are so many paths to explore and several pubs within walking distance. We went to Wyndham's Gap, which we cannot recommend enough for the beautiful walk there, the amazing food and little village of Chedington, the donkey sanctuary and the River Axe. The site owner is extending the site to offer the same number of pitches but to allow campers more opportunities to choose where they set up. We would love to return again. Thanks to Gary for a great stay!

Really enjoyed our stay here

VW-Type Campervan - Grass and Gravel Touring Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2023

Had a lovely couple of nights here. So peaceful and away from it all. Will definitely come back as it was exactly what we wanted! There are no toilets or showers but that wasn't an issue for us. EHU and fresh water were available and the site had key code entry making it feel very secure. Lovely small site with room for 5/6 campers.

Perfectly described, nice and peaceful excellent views

Twin Axle Caravan - Grass and Gravel Touring Pitches (Optional Electric)Jul 2023

Exactly as described. Only for people who are self contained, very well kept, lots of water points and lovely views, steep entrance but pitches only slightly sloped, needed chocks but ok.

Lovely and quiet

VW-Type Campervan - Grass and Gravel Touring Pitches (Optional Electric)Jul 2023

A small, quiet site with nice countryside views. Simple and secure, no showers or toilets but adequate electric hook up, fresh water and waste disposal available. Dog friendly but sheep next door so obviously need to keep them close. Remember to check you have a text message from the owner before arrival as you need the code to get in, however this makes it feel nice and secure. I would use this site again as it has everything I need and close to the beautiful town of Beaminster.

Single Axle Caravan - Grass and Gravel Touring Pitches (Optional Electric)Jul 2023

Lovely spot, nice and quiet as we wanted, with lovely views and sunsets. Think we might need a new clutch on the car though, that steep entrance track is not for the faint hearted. We'll be back, but maybe not until we get a bigger engine car!

Very quiet and private.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Grass and Gravel Touring Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2023

Very quiet, perfect for me. I was the only one on the site. Electric gate with easy access, very private and secluded, great view of the countryside. No toilets or showers is the only downfall. Apart from that, it was great!

Peaceful relaxing stay.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Grass and Gravel Touring Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2023

My daughter and I stayed two nights at Pear Tree Farm. Had a lovely relaxing time. The site is sloped but the pitches are pretty level. We had no need for ramps. The view was lovely. Water taps and electric hook-ups easily accessible. It was a very hot weekend but the pitch was shaded by trees, so van stayed cool but still managed a sunbathe in the open area. As two women, we felt very secure in the gated site. The friendly site owner, Gary, came to check all was ok and he was easy to contact, though we didn't need to. Will definitely go again!

Great farm site, out of the way and in perfect peace. Only 5 pitches, but great gated site and great to get way from the noise and just take in the countryside. You do need your own facilities. We're definitely visiting again. The farmer is a very nice bloke.

Lovely views and generally very quiet. You will need toilet and shower facilities of your own. The entrance is quite steep, so a good 4x4 is recommended.

Motorhome - Grass and Gravel Touring Pitches (Optional Electric)Sep 2022

We really enjoyed our stay at this site. It was so peaceful and we really felt like we were away from it all, in the heart of the countryside, with just sheep for company. The electric security gate was a bonus too. It’s only a small site but we prefer that and as we had our own facilities in the motorhome we didn’t mind that there wasn’t a shower block or toilet. A great find for a night or two. The communication from Garry was immediate and welcoming.

Beautiful sunset views

VW-Type Campervan - Grass and Gravel Touring Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2022

The gentleman messaged before we arrived welcoming us and giving us advice on how to get to the farm. The view across the fields when you camp up is lovely. There weren't any facilities, however this is stated before booking.

Great host

Single Axle Caravan - Grass and Gravel Touring Pitches (Optional Electric)Jul 2022

This site is very clean with running water and electricity. It is basic which was what we expected for the price. Garry was a great host. He couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, even came to fetch us when we got lost! He was worth the price alone. Thanks

A great value site for people with fully equipped vehicles. Good views. Thoroughly nice owner and interesting to chat to. Well thought out development by a motorhomer!
