Pitch where you choose within the 15 acre camping field, catering for tents, caravans and motorhomes - dogs are welcome too. Within easy reach of Cranborne Chase AONB and Longleat Safari Park.
About Turnpike Showground Campsite
There's plenty of space to pitch here, and the site operates on a 'pitch where you fancy' basis - allowing you to pick your own spot against the gorgeous countryside backdrop. Unit numbers are deliberately kept low, so you won't have to worry about feeling packed in with other campers. Pitches are spread across the 15 acre field and there's also a 14 acre overflow field. All pitches are on grass and cater for tents, caravans and motorhomes - plus, dogs are welcome too. Water points are located across the site. Fires and BBQs are welcome here.
Open from 1 April to 6 September
Site facilities include a toilet block with individual ladies and gents areas, plus accessible facilities and baby changing. There are currently no showers provided. BBQs also allowed onsite but must be kept off the grass.
A number of pubs are within easy reach from the site, including the Kings Arms and the Phoenix.

The site enjoys easy access to a number of local villages, being set just a mile from Motcombe and nestling between Shaftesbury and Gillingham.
A short car journey will take you to the stunning Cranborne Chase AONB, with many attractions to see including Stonehenge and Stourhead. Alternatively, it takes just 30 minutes by car to see the animals at Longleat Safari Park.
