Absolutely beautiful

This was my first ever stay in my campervan! I was quite apprehensive! However, I was greeted by the owner and told to ask if I had any problems. There were no problems. It was beautiful. Quiet, extremely clean, pretty surroundings, and so peaceful. I even made friends with cat! Thank you for making my first ever campsite experience so special.

Great

Loved it, lovely and quiet, clean toilets and showers dogs welcome. Have a on site shop, can cook burgers to brekkie wraps, coffee, tea, ice cream. Lovely friendly people - loved it so much staying again next weekend as well. And it's only a short drive to sea front 😊😊 Dogs are allowed on beach up top, end near pier.

The whole site is small, but has everything and caters for camping and motorhomes, really nice site thank you.

Great little site

I'm tempted to give this place a bad review just so it doesn't get packed out for the holidays and they don't raise their reasonable prices. Nice big grassy areas for tents and a car. Little park for kids. They have a little shop for some food items and coffee/wine. Clean toilets and showers.

Perfect little beauty spot

Very clean tidy and well laid out pitches. Toilet very clean, showers are powerful and hot and thankfully you don't have to keep pushing them on, they're on constant. 100% recommend this site!

Perfect for my family!

First time staying here with my 3 young children, and it was perfect for them, safe, open space for them to play in, facilities easily accessible and friendly staff. Was looking forward to a coffee, but understand the staffing was not available for this to be possible. We'll definitely be back! Thanks Sharon.

Pretty but

We had a good one night stay. Our granddaughter loved the play area and space to fly a kite. One toilet had no light - perhaps a bulb issue so was unusable. All needed toilet brushes. The washing up area had only cold water, so useless to wash anything fatty. I am not sure about hand basins. I did run them for a while. The café advertised was closed due to some personal issues but this could be amended. Excellent fish and chip shop recommended at Seawick, through St Osyth village. No grey waste water disposal on site - necessary for a motorhome. Generous pitch sizes. Site was immaculate, well done.

Great site

Great site. Good atmosphere, friendly welcome. Facilities spotless. TV and a hut where you can buy drinks. There was a problem with our booking and we were not booked onto an electric pitch. It was not too bad for one night and we coped. Owner gave us a free breakfast as compensation. We will return but will double check before we arrive that we have electric.

A really lovely campsite!

This campsite was made by the friendly welcome from the manager! We forgot our hammer and were clearly novices at setting up our new awning. He came over to check we were okay. There is also a really lovely atmosphere and had some nice chats with other guests over washing up. We didn't visit the café but it looked really nice. Would heartily recommend! Kids enjoyed the playground also. Plenty of showers and toilets and they were pretty clean.

Friendly and welcoming site

I got a really good feeling when I arrived on site, it seemed relaxed, friendly and organised and that turned out to be true throughout our overnight stay. Owners and staff were friendly and welcoming, site was clean and well cared for. Nice ambience. Location was quiet but convenient for the coast, however I gave 4 stars for location as sadly there is no pub within walking distance (although that's not the site's fault and there was beer on site). I felt the site was good value for money and would recommend it if you are looking to visit Frinton (nice beaches), Clacton (good pier) or the surrounding area.

Site is well spaced, clean, quiet with friendly staff. Would definitely use again.

Perfect

Our stay on the site was perfect. It was safe and secure. It wasn't too big or loud and has a play area for the little ones. The male owner was very warm and welcoming, and loved telling the story of how the site came to be, along with why it is named 'The Pretty Thing'. We will definitely stay again in the future.

Helpful hosts and lovely site - thoroughly recommend :)

When we arrived, we discovered our tent had rotted in our garage (or chewed by mice - not sure). The hosts swiftly altered our booking to a glamping bell tent, which was lovely. Toilets & showers spotless, grass good quality and well mown and other guests quiet. The site was spacious and had a small café and swings for the kids etc. Short drive to Clacton or Frinton so location was great. Really enjoyed it. R & N.

Good weekend

Great camping, fun vibes

Lovely site, friendly staff, we had a campervan but the glamping pitch looked fab and fun. All facilities were clean and great hot showers. There is only cold water available to wash up - so we just boiled water to help with greasy items. We were close to facilities to limit danger travelling with hot water as I'm quite clumsy. I would stay again if visiting this area in the future.

Absolutely beautiful camp

First time camping in our tourer and this was perfect. We visited The Pretty Thing on a sunny weekend with a new born, a 10 year old and a 13 year old. The camp was spotless to start and Phil was super helpful, lent us a lead for the caravan too. We all had a lovely time. It feels super safe and a home away from home vibe. Will definitely visit again and the family agree. Thanks Phil, a well earned 5 stars!
