Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesMay 2025

The full experience was great. The lady who checked us in was lovely and on one morning we walked up towards the farm to see the tractors and the farmer let the toddlers climb in the tractor and sit in it, they loved it. There are sheep up near the toilets and chickens, the kids loved this. The toilets/shower block was nice and clean.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesMay 2025

The site is in a beautiful location. There's plenty of space for tents and campervans. Toilets, showers were clean and wash room, although small, was tidy. Good to see a washer dryer and plug sockets for charging phones. It was my first time to the area and I particularly wanted to see Hadrian's Wall. The site was advertised as being a short walk away but there was no information on where to go or any info on Hadrian's Wall that I could see.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesMay 2025

The campsite is ideal for people who like walking or for families with young or older children or couples that want to be on their own with nice views not far from Adrian's wall. The people that run it are nice and friendly, I will definitely stay again and will recommend it to my friends and family if they need a place to camp.

Remote enough to be away from it all with working-farm charm

Medium Tent - Electric Grass PitchesMay 2025

Cannot fault Greencarts campsite. The views are beautiful and the camping is as you would expect. There is a main field with some electric hook ups and another field in a dip at the top. There are pets wandering around which just lends it even more of a cosy family feel. You're camping but you feel like you're getting a little glimpse into how a farm is run and given the absolute shambles of a way this government is treating these hard working people at the minute, it's clear this way of life should be preserved as authentically as this family run their farm. A lovely stay and a nice glimpse into how rural people work and live.

This site is very conveniently located for people walking Hadrian's Wall. It has decent shower and laundry facilities, and staff are friendly and helpful. There is a good choice of pitches, and amenities like shops are a short drive away.

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesMay 2025

Between my sat-nav thinking it knew best and my misunderstanding of the written directions, we took the least favourable route to the campsite from the main road! If you're coming from Walwick or Housteads, it is a much easier trip to turn at the big Falconry Centre sign on the B6318. Then turn into the farm about halfway along that road you've turned onto. The site itself is great for kids, a few that were already pitched up when we arrived adopted my two into their games, and that was that. They also managed to get a look at the cows, lambs and various cats and dogs that live on the farm. They loved it. There's a very handy washer and tumble drier on site, but you need coins/speak to the owner, as we discovered in the wee small hours when my youngest threw up all over her sleeping bag. I particularly appreciated the unlimited and very warm water for the showers, no 20p for 2 mins here! There was loads of room for people to choose where to camp on the big field, and a smaller field which was quieter. In hindsight we might have camped there as it was far less noisy. That was just due to a bank holiday get-together at the opposite corner of the field. They'd worn themselves out by the 2nd night. The smaller field was also good for walkers etc. My youngest's favourite thing was buying individual eggs from the table outside all the facilities.

Very good

Lovely site. Friendly people, ideal location for the wall. Great seeing the farm animals. Kids loved petting the lambs. Definitely will return.

Arrived, checked in shown where electric pitches were and informed of toilets and showers. We were up for the GNR and also Hadrian's Wall so ideal position, out of the way but close enough for wall and forts.

Great views and good location

A nice campsite, loads of space and beautiful views over the Northumberland hillside. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the toilets and shower facility was not to the standard expected. More regular cleaning throughout the day is needed. Pretty sure the facilities weren't cleaned during our stay there.

Cold showers, small. Only 2 toilets for the site. Only 1 area to do the dishes. Paid £44 online. Unfortunately for us, a couple who shouted at the 2 kids day and night spoiled the stay and we left a night early. Not nice listening to their foul language.

Site's response

I am sorry you have experienced this, the showers certainly shouldn't be cold. A quick knock on the door could have solved this, same as issues with other campers. We are available almost all of the time and a quick chat could have made your experience better.

Fantastic place to just go get away, the site was clean and tidy and had lots of space for kids the run around. There's bird centres and lots of Roman forts to explore as well as walking routes. We stayed for one night and would definitely come back again, they even let you borrow fire pits and sell big bags of fire wood!

A great site, the member staff we spoke to was really friendly. It was a huge camping field, with clean toilets and showers. The site had great views and camp fires were allowed, what more could you want?

Our stay at Greencarts was great! We took our dog who loved the space he had to be on his 5m run ground spike and also be off lead. The hosts are great! Really polite and friendly, they check you in and leave you to it! If you do need them, they are more than happy to help. The facilities aren't that bad but I put 4 stars as there's 2 toilets and 2 showers in each, meaning when it's busy, there can be a slight wait and also gets messy quite quick but I noticed they were quick in resolving the mess! The showers do take a small time to get warm but the temperature isn't too bad! It's a great spot with lovely scenery, plenty of space on the bigger field (where we stayed). There is a smaller field if you preferred to be a bit more close knit!

Great little place

Second time I've stayed with my daughter. Pretty basic site but has hook up. The showers are a little old school, but for me that's what camping is about. The facilities are functional and clean. It's a working farm so busy from that perspective, but that adds to atmosphere. The view from the big field is amazing and worth the fee alone. We'll definitely stay again and look forward to it.
