About Port nan Gael Campsite
Located on the scenic Isle of Mull, guests can enjoy family and dog friendly touring and camping surrounded by stunning countryside. Within an easy 30 minute drive of the Craignure ferry terminal and situated on the shores of Loch Scridain, it makes the ideal spot for soaking up the stunning Scottish landscapes.
For walkers or cyclists, the site offers four non electric grass tent pitches with no space for vehicles. Though, a further 20 grass tent pitches can also accommodate those with vehicles. If bringing your trailer tent, campervan, caravan or motorhome, you will simply need to choose between non electric and 16 amp electric grass pitches.
All of the pitches allow up to five guests, measuring 6m x 6m. There is a drive in and park system for check-in so to accommodate the ferry timetables and allow you a peaceful and seamless arrival/departure.
There are also a further 20 grass and gravel pitches for tourers too.
Explore other nearby islands, such as the Abbey and beaches of Iona, or the volcanic rock columns on Staffa, before enjoying dinner at the pub just next door.
Two dogs are allowed per pitch, and they'll love the nearby walks.
Campfires are not allowed, however, BBQs are welcome.
Port nan Gael Campsite is open from 01/03 to 30/10.
Facilities onsite include toilets and hot showers just a short walk from each pitch and the loch! There are also designated accessible features, like a wet room, step-free access and grab rails. There is also a changing table with a baby bath.
There is an outdoor washing up point with two large sinks in a sheltered area, as well as multiple water taps and WiFi.
The Inn at Port nan Gael is a pub in the hotel next door, with great evening food with a private path for campers to get easy access! For food shopping, the closest shop is a Spar which is a 20 minute drive away.

Having grown up on the island, there is nothing better than being able to showcase an area we are so proud to call home. Port nan Gael provides a unique opportunity to explore a remote and rural part of the landscape while having all your needs met nearby.
The wildlife on our doorstep, the beaches nearby and the dramatic ever-changing weather still takes our breath away. Our family roots in the area go back 300 years and we hope to create a future for the area that will continue to bring people back. We look forward to seeing you soon.

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful Easter weekend at Port nan Gael Campsite on the Isle of Mull. The campsite's location is stunning, nestled amidst beautiful landscapes with perfect views of Loch Scridain. The site is incredibly peaceful and beautiful to wake up to each day!
The staff at Port nan Gael were excellent, providing helpful assistance and clear communication throughout our stay and super friendly to boot!
Overall, our experience was exceptional, and we highly recommend Port nan Gael Campsite for a tranquil getaway on the Isle of Mull. We can't wait to return!

Fabulous views and facilities very modern and clean. Great pub and food next door which was very welcoming.
We had a slight problem with EHU which was our own ignorance of not knowing to depress the central switch on the unit, I rang the site emergency number and they contacted me straight back, we had however managed to figure it out. Would stay there again

What time is check-in and check out at Port nan Gael Campsite?
Check-in is available from 1pm until 9pm. Departure is due before 11am on your last day.
Please advise the site if you are delayed. If the site has not heard from you within 24 hours of expected arrival, they reserve the right to re-let your pitch.
Is Port nan Gael Campsite dog-friendly?
Yes, dogs are welcome! You are allowed two dogs per pitch. Please keep dogs on leads at all times.
Does Port nan Gael Campsite allow BBQs and campfires?
Yes! Fires and barbecues are welcome but must be raised off the ground and attended by an adult at all times.
Does Port nan Gael Campsite allow awnings, gazebos or pup tents?
Awnings are allowed, free of charge. Gazeboes and pup tents are not permitted.
Things to do on site and in the Isle Of Mull area
Explore the coast and discover tucked-away coves and rock pools. Be sure to keep an eye out for dolphins and otters which are seen frequently in the bay.
Sample the local gin at the Whitetail Gin Distillery (20 minutes) or enjoy the rural nature of the 1500 acre farm at Ardalanish Isle of Mull Weavers (25 minutes). Although Ben More is just ten minutes away the best side to climb the Munro is from the east of the island at Dhiseig.
