Biker site

It was expensive for a bare pitch, about 500m to the (clean and new) facilities via a construction site. The venue is definitely cool for bikers because of the close distance to the lift but not quite right for "normal" campers.

Breaks my heart

Breaks my heart to write this review as I love Nevis Range but the campervan park is a miss for me just now. The smell on site on hot days is not great, walking past the septic tanks every time you need to go to the toilet or to the main building, it ruined my stay. Even this morning while using the showers, the smell was too overpowering. Hopefully the tanks will get buried to help with the smell but just now makes a nasty experience. My pitch was next to the camper waster cleaning station which also had the smell but only because people kept leaving the lid open after use. Was told I could move later on to an empty pitch, but vans were in and out all day and I wasn't too sure which were empty. Wouldn't recommend just now till that smell is sorted.

Simply the best!!

Stayed here in a motorhome with my 2 boys aged 10 & 13 and it was just perfect. Parked between the trails and pump track with views of the gondola, every mountain bikers dream. The first night we had to stay in the car park as the caravan section was full, but the English lady in the Nevis hotel let us hv a card for £5 to use the facilities. The second night a lovely Polish lady (name began with B?) helped the boys with their queries and then went out of her way to find a charger for my laptop. Super helpful!! Every member of staff was amazing, not many places you can say that about these days. Ate in the ski chalet type bar, who do the best burgers. We will be back for The World Cup x

Everything you need for active stay

Lovely setting, standard of cleanliness excellent, food and drinks a bit pricey but tasty.

Great location

Great location with hook-up and chemical disposal. The area is a bit of a building site at the moment, but that didn't interfere with the campsite. We felt there were a couple of minor issues that should be addressed. The reception staff didn't seem to know much about the site. We also couldn't find any grey water disposal facilities. This should be sorted or people will just empty grey water on the campsite. There was also a smell from the septic tank outside the facilities block. The showers are very nice, but each cubicle only has one tiny peg to hang your towel and all your clothes on to keep them off the wet floor. A few hooks in each cubicle would be good.

Ideal

Ideal location on site for an MTB competition. All things considered, the price, facilities, etc were all a good deal. I'd go back.

Spot on

Pitched my motorhome here for MacAvalanche race. Lovely and peaceful, beautiful toilets and showers, free bike wash, friendly and helpful staff. Cannot fault it but it is still in development so don't expect caravan and camping club style set up.

Winter stay at Nevis Range

A winter stay at Nevis Range. Pitches are in great location for the gondola and access to hills.

Perfect

I stayed for 1 night. Went specifically to Nevis Range to do some gravel riding. I had the site to myself. Toilets and showers were spotless with plenty of hot water. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would thoroughly recommend.

Great overnight stay for visiting the Nevis Range

Campervan Park is tucked round the back of the main facilities (café, gondolas, new hotel), so is nice & quiet. Facilities are are short walk back along a well lit path if you need them. Motorhome / Campervan facilities (black waste disposal, washing up, water) on site. EHU on each pitch.

Excellent site

The site is excellent. There are a few things that would make it even better (these are just suggestions obviously!) It would be better to have more domestic sized washing sinks than one industrial sized sink for washing up, particularly when the site is busy. The bins are fine but again maybe not sufficient for when the site is full? There is also no hose for topping up a water tank or campervan on the water tap, which would be useful. The shower area was beautiful and clean but it could do with a few places in the showers for hanging clothes etc or a stool. It also would be great to have a squeegee to enable us to clean it for the next person and a cold tap, as well as hot taps, for cleaning in the washroom.

Nevis Range

Pitch ok, toilet block very clean and new, toilet block location to pitch is down a muddy lane full of boulders and building materials as there is still building work going on.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay! The path to the facilities block goes through a wooded area which can get muddy when there is heavy rainfall.

New or refurbished site

It looks to be either a new site or a refurbished site. The washing up area is amongst the pitches but has no hot water. The facilities area is part of a larger complex. It's a fair walk from the pitches (lit at night). They have six or seven showers but only one toilet which is in one of the shower cubicles. Brand new so very clean.

Campertastic

Staying here with my daughter before she goes travelling. Great site, still under construction, but the toilets and showers are super clean and brand new. There is a gondola to the top of the mountain, but we were interested in seeing the scenery and walking the bear 🐻 (black lab). Only staying two nights as off to the Isle of Skye for Hogmanay before returning on the 2nd. Will definitely use this as a one/two-night stopover, I'm sure people who want to ski/rock climb etc, would stay longer...enjoy.

December night away

Facilities at this site are 5* with hairdryers, great showers (plenty available, so no waiting) and toilets. The little walk to them didn't bother us, but might for some. Still under construction at the moment. The think there needs to be some signs as there were 3 lots of people with us who didn't know where to check in, where to go or where the toilets were, especially arriving in the dark. So be aware upon arrival. The location is good, we took the gondola up in the morning. I do think the price was a little steep for a small campervan but it was a great stay overall.

New site with facilities developing

Access is behind the main gondola building. Level gravel site. Around 5m x 6m, so longer vans will not fit in. Only a few spots so a quiet and pleasant site. Good electric hook ups which are illuminated making it very easy to use. Water pipe nearby was frozen but staff at nearby café filled our container happily. Shower and toilet block around 250m away hence the 3* rating. However, these are fabulous facilities. They are brand new, sparkling clean and have lovely hot water. Hairdryers too! However, they need to add extra hooks in each cubicle as there's nowhere to hang your stuff whilst you shower. Wash up sink near camping spots, cold water only. Bins including recycling which is nice to see. There's a chemical toilet disposal point, but the hose connector has gone walkabouts, so there's a tap and a hose but no way to join the two together! Decent Wi-Fi at gondola building. Staff were really helpful and we enjoyed our stay.

Nevis Range

Great place to be if the weather works, nice little site with hook ups and great views, place is still under construction. Couldn't get my head round all the little posts everywhere on the site, they are low down and difficult to see when reversing. No hot water for dishes and no cold taps in the communal washing area (yet). You'll need a good hammer for pegging an awning. Still worth a visit and good value considering the surroundings.

Quiet

Level hard standing pitch. Electric hook up. Two showers a short walk away. Couldn't find W.C's but we had our own toilet. Very quiet until about 7 am when workers started arriving at the quarry nearby.

Not recommended

Campsite resembles a car park, just a rectangle of gravel. When I stayed, toilets access via building site and restaurant felt like it was just a café. Felt it was an expensive site or a cheaper car park next door. Location by Gondola is good for mountain bikers and walkers.

Building site

I was told on booking this site that there was some building work being carried out. No facilities in the area we were parked in, except for washing up sinks, drinking water tap, refuse bins and an electric hook up. We had to walk down a makeshift road that was very uneven. Being disabled, this was made much harder. It had no lighting on the walk down to the washroom, which meant you could not see the holes in the road. The shower and toilet were terrible, only to be used if desperate, so I would not recommend this site.
