About the site


Located in Snowdonia (Eryri) National Park, this family friendly site is just a two minute walk from the shores of Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake). It is the perfect location for paddleboarding, kayaking, sailing or gentle waterside strolls. The pretty town of Bala is also just a 15 minute walk from the park, where visitors will find shops, pubs and places to eat! For tent campers, there are electric grass pitches measuring 8m x 4m, each with a 16 amp hook up. For those wanting more room, there are six deluxe electric grass pitches at 11m x 4m. These come with their own picnic bench and fire pit. Tourers are welcome on a range of fully serviced hardstanding pitches that include 16 amp electric, fresh water and grey waste drainage. Pitches range in size from 6m right up to 10m in length. Smaller 6m pitches are ideal for campervans and motorhomes up to 6m, while the larger 7m, 8m, 9m and 10m options suit caravans, roof tents, campervans and motorhomes. For those who prefer not to pitch their own tent, there are ready-to-go glamping options. The Prospector Ready Tents each sleep up to four people and include a wood burning stove and electric supply (guests just need to bring their own beds and camping kit). The Isabella Ready Tent also sleeps up to four and has two zip-off bedrooms with foam mattresses, plug sockets, a table and chairs, plus a small camp kitchenette with a kettle and camping hob. The fully equipped Isabella Safari Tents offer even more comfort and sleep up to five people. Inside, there is a double bedroom and a triple room with a double bed and single bunk (bedding provided), along with a fitted kitchen, heater and seating area. Outside, guests can relax on the covered decking with outdoor seating and a fire pit. Sleeping two, the Green Shepherd's Hut includes bench beds, electric, a wood burner, microwave, kettle and mini fridge. There are also three ensuite shepherd's huts with hot tubs, each sleeping two people. Inside, guests will find a double bed, log burner, TV, kitchenette with hob, microwave and fridge, plus a private shower room with toiletries. Bedding and towels are provided. Outside, each hut has its own deck, picnic bench and private hot tub! Dogs are welcome to join you for your stay, with up to three dogs permitted per pitch or pet friendly glamping unit. Raised fire pits and BBQs are also allowed!

A modern amenity block offers toilets and showers with underfloor heating (open 24/7). The block includes disabled and family facilities, complete with a baby changing table. Free hot showers are available to all guests, along with complimentary shampoo, shower gel, and conditioner. A hair dryer is also provided free of charge in the ladies' bathroom. Glamping guests have access to a covered BBQ area.

There is a covered food prep and washing up area, plus a laundry room. In emergencies, phone charging is available during reception hours. An ice block freezing service is offered at reception, and CCTV security operates across the park. Two electric vehicle charging points are available. Fire pits are available free of charge on a first come, first served basis.

The onsite shop supplies camping essentials such as tent pegs, airbeds, and accessories, as well as everyday items and groceries. A daily delivery service (excluding Sundays and Bank Holidays) is available from T.J Roberts, an award-winning local butcher, with order forms available at Reception. Calor Gas and Campingaz products are available for purchase. WiFi access is provided at the shop too.

Bala town centre is within a 15 minute walk, offering a range of pubs, shops and restaurants. These include The Bulls Head, Co-op, White Lion Royal Hotel, The Goat / Yr Afr and more.

Touring rules:

Please note our site is not suitable for groups - We kindly ask you respect this and don't book individually as we do notice.

*The size and description of unit including name and numbers in party and numbers of vehicles must be stipulated at the time of enquiry any subsequent changes can not be guaranteed.

*Visitors - To avoid confusion, for security and comfort of all, visitors must report to Reception on arrival and vacate by 8pm to avoid disturbing other customers.

*Arrival/Check In time is between 1pm and 7pm unless otherwise arranged, early arrivals may be catered for and request for late departure must be arranged on arrival.

*The full balance of reservation is due two weeks prior to arrival.

*Cycling is not permitted by Reception and Park entrance - There are many great cycle trails in the area, ask for information at Reception.

*Soft ball games only on site.

*We ask that you do not allow your children to climb our trees on site, and no wildlife is disturbed.

*Dogs are very welcome but must be secured whilst on site and any accidents cleared up. Dog bins are located throughout the park.

*BBQ's and Fires must be kept small and at least 10 inches off the ground and 4m away from vehicles and other campers.

*Please do not drive cars on the grass without due care and attention. Each pitch has an allocated space for one vehicle. Please follow the road and do not drive over other pitches, they will be needed by others.

*Please adhere to the one way 5mph system which includes vehicles and cyclists.

*Commercial Vehicles by arrangement only.

*We ask all ground sheets on grass must a be breathable type and lifted every 3 days.

*Please dispose of your waste at the appropriate allocated points. Never throw waste of any kind into the brook or at drinking water points. Please ensure that all taps are switched off after each use. Children must be supervised at the water points and in the toilet/shower block at all times.

*Recycling is encouraged.

*We ask noise levels to be kept to a minimum after 10.30pm.

*The use of generators is not permitted.

*Groups including family groups only accepted by prior arrangement and full discussion. Please don't book individually we do notice! Groups not disclosing themselves as such on booking and or on arrival will be asked to leave. Fee's are non-refundable.

*Deposits paid are non-refundable. Provisional bookings out of season are kept for two weeks but during the height of the season pitches are held for one week only. The transfer of deposits is at the management's discretion.

*Management reserve the right to alter the pitch you are booked onto where circumstances deem necessary.

*In the event of a complaint, please speak to Reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.

*Cancellations - No refunds can be given on bookings cancelled within 2 weeks of arrival, we strongly recommend you take out holiday insurance to cover against loss in unforeseen circumstances. No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.

*We ask pitches are to be vacated by 11am the day of departure. Arrangements can be made to stay longer if the pitch is available.

*Please ensure you have adequate insurance to cover third parties whilst on site. Members of your party are responsible for any damage they cause to third parties whilst they are at the park.

*The owners will not be held responsible or liable for any accidents, loss or damage to persons, vehicles, caravans, motor vans, tents, trailers or accessories or contents however caused. Any accident, loss or damage to persons or objects however caused is at the patrons own risk.

*On arrival management have the right to refuse entry if they have cause of concern regarding the welfare and/or disturbance of others even though prior booking may have taken place.

*Management have the right to ask persons to leave the site if not adhering to any of the above.

*Management reserve the right to make any changes to the above.

Glamping rules:

*A deposit is required at time of booking and the full balance payment is required two weeks before arrival.

*Cancellations - No refunds can be given on bookings for any reason, we strongly recommend you take out holiday insurance to cover against loss in unforeseen Circumstances. Only the persons named at the time of booking may use the booking.

*No Smoking - Our glamping units are strictly Non Smoking. If we have reason to believe that a Customer has smoked within them a penalty charge of £25.00 will be given.

*Arrival & Departure Times - Glamping arrivals are between 4pm and 7pm. Departure is 10am. Those wishing to make a late departure should enquire at Reception.

*Cooking - For safety reasons, the use of camping stoves or similar inside our units is strictly forbidden. Please use the purpose built BBQ Hut where there is a permanent bbq and a gas camping stove provided for all users of the Glamping area

*All new arrivals and visitors must call at Reception before entering the Park. Day visitors must park in the designated area.

*Noise levels - Many of our guests choose Pen y Bont to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the countryside, we ask that music, TVs and all noise be kept at a reasonable level at all times and to an absolute minimum between 10.30pm and 8am. We reserve the right to refuse admittance or to terminate the visit of any person or persons whose conduct is detrimental to Pen y Bont Touring Park or to other visitors.

*Park owners and their staff do not accept liability for any loss or damage to the hirer's property and/ or accidents, injuries, illness, diseases, arising from the hire of the caravan or use of the holiday park, including acts of god or extreme weather conditions.


A note from the site themselves...

Our site is beautiful, with an amazing shower block. On a clear night, you can see the stars clearly, and you can lie and watch the activities up above for hours. The team running the park here are friendly, welcoming and ready to help anyone out at any time, and always with a smile.

It is a great place to work, and that shines through to our guests. We have an easy-going, relaxed atmosphere and a feeling that you are in a totally different country at our campsite.

Things to do on site and in the Bala area

Just a five minute walk from the park is Bala Lake Railway - Bala (Pen-y-Bont) Station. This steam railway runs along the edge of the lake, offering a relaxing journey with wonderful views across the water and surrounding hills. It is a lovely way to explore the area and a real treat for train fans of all ages.

If you are feeling active, Bala Adventure and Watersports Centre is only a 15 minute walk away. Here you can try kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding and sailing on Bala Lake (Llyn Tegid), the largest natural lake in Wales.

For even more excitement, Canolfan Tryweryn - The National White Water Centre is just a five minute drive from the park. This is the place to experience white water rafting and thrilling river rides in a safe, guided setting. Watching the rafts race down the rapids is exciting too!

If you fancy a day at the seaside, Traeth Abermaw Beach and Barmouth are around 45 minutes away. The long sandy beach is perfect for paddling, sandcastles and seaside walks, while Barmouth offers shops, cafés and traditional seaside fun.
