Occupying part of what used to be a WWII airfield, Holmsley Campsite offers an ideal location in the New Forest National Park. Within a 15 minute drive of Highcliffe Beach and just 25 minutes from Bournemouth, it is the perfect place for exploring. Campers in tents and tourers have a range of pitches to choose from, including grass, hardstanding and the option of electric. Be sure to also keep an eye out for visiting New Forest ponies!

Great getaway for a couple of nights. Site was great, pick your own pitch. Forest was great with our dog. Toilet blocks were clean and well maintained, considering the constant use in the height of school holidays. Great you could go and order a takeaway from the site and chips etc. Shop was ok. Definitely going back this year.

Both me and the kids had a wonderful time here. From when we first arrived, the staff couldn't be more helpful. Location is also nice, with walks surrounding the whole site. Facilities are kept very clean, there's a shop selling essentials and even a "takeaway". We will certainly be returning for a longer stay.

Lovely place to stay with open views and plenty of space. Friendly staff in the shop and beautifully maintained facilities. Loved seeing all the ponies and cattle. We will visit again.

This is a nice campsite. Facilities are basic as people have said, but they don't claim to be more than that. The staff work really hard to make sure that the bathrooms are nice and clean, although sadly, there were times when customers left the toilets in a mess, which was a shame. I didn't have much to do with the staff but the people I met were friendly and helpful. We stayed in Dingle Dell which was lovely and quiet for the kids with lots of shady bits. There is a lovely stream and access to the woods for the children to play with too. The kids were a bit disappointed with the playground. It's very small but great for younger ones. I would recommend this campsite, it's in a great location with good access to lovely beaches and towns nearby. The horses and cows just outside are a wonderful attraction too!

Great campsite, very friendly staff. Fabulous location so many ponies just outside! Facilities were basic but relatively clean and showers were nice and hot.

First time here. Lovely location, although we thought we may be within walking distance of a pub and village to visit, but you do need a car, or you could cycle. We wanted something to eat on arrival (around 1.30pm) but were disappointed the shop did not have anything until pizza that evening. We decided on a coffee and were given a cup to go get one from a machine. Suggest coffee and teas made and served here would be a nice idea as lovely seating outside. Very peaceful and lots of space around. Toilets and showers were very clean and nice. However, only one hairdryer which was broken. I would recommend this campsite though, especially for families, because of the cleanliness and vast space. Not forgetting the horses. Also, it is in an area between two villages so if staying longer than we were, you can explore a little more.

We were welcomed by a lovely Australian man who explained everything very well! We then proceeded to follow Tina who showed us to our pitch with her nifty bike! The staff clearly enjoy their work environment because they were all happy. We didn't use the shop/takeaway service but nice to know it was there if needed! Shame the rain happened, otherwise we would have joined the quiz! Lots of staff walking round which is nice to know in case we had any questions. The showers & toilets blocks were super clean and always stocked up! The only comment we have as a group that had never been to the site before, we had no idea where to find drinking water & we couldn't find it anywhere. We asked a family next to us but they also weren't too sure as they had just arrived as well. We could have asked but we made it work for 1 night.

Beautiful location and campsite. Spacious and staff helpful, excellent for cycling and walking, lovely to see the horses roaming wild and free. Something for everyone, not too far from a variety of beaches. Certainly recommend a visit.

Absolutely gorgeous location, wild horses greeted us on arrival. The campsite is very well looked after and all the facilities are kept very clean. Lovely walks just outsides the gate. Beautiful beaches only 10 minutes away. Will definitely be back. Thank you, it was a great weekend.

Large sprawling site surrounded by woodland, heathland, paths and trails - all teaming with wildlife. You’d be hard pushed to find a better site for dogs. It was relatively quiet during my stay.

Our first outing in our new motorhome and could not have picked a nicer spot. We found the staff helpful and knowledgeable regarding the local area. Staff worked meticulously to keep toilet and shower blocks clean; especially as it was a wet weekend. We will definitely return before the end of the season.

Confusing information prior to our arrival. We booked and they gave a postcode of BH23 7EQ for the site. This gave a location some distance away from the actual site. Luckily, I have done a lot of cycling in the area and remembered Helmsley. It is also well signposted. The staff could not have been more helpful though and the site is spacious and beautifully located. Despite 1 inch of rain falling on our first night, the land drains very well and the site did not become muddy. The shop was well stocked and the shower / toilet blocks were clean and the water was hot. Prices are higher than expected and, though we would love to do a 'dry week' here, it might not be affordable.

Our first night away in our campervan was spent here. Staff are super accommodating and friendly. The site is beautiful, rural and of outstanding natural beauty. Great amenities, showers are free too and the toilets have toilet paper. Nice area to wash up, drinking water available and chemical waste facilities. We will be back for sure.
