Value camping with a view

Out of the way farm campsite. Choose your own pitch but not all pitches are flat, so be careful. Elec pitches look very slanted. 4 showers in total and 4 toilets. With it being busy and very warm, wasps were a problem as bins were overflowing because of the bank holiday, I'm assuming. There are 2 fields, one quiet, one a bit more noisy but wasn't an issue, was a good atmosphere. Hexam.is a short drive but get a parking disk if visiting. Nice, friendly staff and firewood fire pits can be borrowed and BBQs are allowed. Not really marked pitches, so that's great, and car can be parked next to tent. Good value as it's only cheap. Stunning views and fab for star gazing. Will be back.

My stay was very enjoyable.

My stay was very enjoyable. Access was very easy. The place was close to places worth visiting, such as Hadrian's Wall. The staff was very friendly. The price was very good. The campsite was well-maintained. Everyone respected the curfew. The showers were in good condition. There was a place to wash dishes and laundry. There were several benches with seats available at the campsite, but they were first-come, first-served. It would be nice if there were more. The place met my expectations. I highly recommend it.

our trip

we stayed at the bottom.of the big field and on the Saturday night it was party time. Lots of music and laughter everywhere, even disco lights. It was a lovely atmosphere.

Beautiful place

Lovely place. Right next to Hadrian's Wall path. Breakfast & packed lunch were lovely. Very friendly staff (Jean) - I will definitely stay again & would recommend.

Four nights Camping

Booked to stay at Greencarts campsite for four nights with family of three. Easy to book, easy to find and when we arrived we were met by the owner Jane who actually gave us a choice of which field we wanted to stay in. Lovely and friendly. Facilities were spot on well lit up at night. After 11pm the field was quiet, although it was full, everyone was respectful. Hot running water for the showers was refreshing. Nice clean area and a couple of chickens and cats about, but they didn't bother anyone. Ideal location with lovely views and the night sky was amazing to see. I would definitely come back to this place.

Lovely place

Stopped for one night with my 7 year old. Very clean and well kept, beautiful views and very chilled place. Cut short by bad weather on the Sunday but we will be back.

What a wonderful place

Fabulous views, friendly hosts, just a perfect getaway. Set on a working farm, just proper old school camping. Wonderful.

4 night stay

Had a lovely few days at the site , met Sandra the owner who was very friendly and helpful. Toilets and showers need updating just basic, toilet brushes in need of changing. Rubbish bin in toilet needs a lid. Overall lovely views, enjoyed the birds, chickens, cat's and kittens and dog's on the farm. Plenty to see and do in the surrounding area, some beautiful walks, shopping facilities and quirky pubs. Met some lovely people on the camp.

The best camping we’ve done

Hosts were friendly but not over bearing, facilities were spotless and well maintained, single parent with 2 daughters and a dog and felt safe at all times. Would highly recommend- we're booking to go back next week !

Relaxed camp

Great site for using as a base to explore the area. Quite basic and the electric pitches are sloped which isn't ideal. Toilet and showers were adequate for our 2 night stay but could be checked more often for cleanliness.

Peaceful

I thoroughly enjoyed my overnight stay. There was a thunderstorm and the lightening was spectacular. Birds wake you up early. Nice fellow campers who respected the campsite like we did. The hens eggs were delicious. Facilities were clean, location was great. We will definitely return.

Countryside views

Superb location. Peaceful. Beautiful views almost 360. Toilets were not as clean as they could be but there were two large groups on site to well used.

Great campsite

The full experience was great. The lady who checked us in was lovely and on one morning we walked up towards the farm to see the tractors and the farmer let the toddlers climb in the tractor and sit in it, they loved it. There are sheep up near the toilets and chickens, the kids loved this. The toilets/shower block was nice and clean.

Peaceful site in beautiful location

The site is in a beautiful location. There's plenty of space for tents and campervans. Toilets, showers were clean and wash room, although small, was tidy. Good to see a washer dryer and plug sockets for charging phones. It was my first time to the area and I particularly wanted to see Hadrian's Wall. The site was advertised as being a short walk away but there was no information on where to go or any info on Hadrian's Wall that I could see.

My stay at Greencarts campsite

The campsite is ideal for people who like walking or for families with young or older children or couples that want to be on their own with nice views not far from Adrian's wall. The people that run it are nice and friendly, I will definitely stay again and will recommend it to my friends and family if they need a place to camp.

Remote enough to be away from it all with working-farm charm

Cannot fault Greencarts campsite. The views are beautiful and the camping is as you would expect. There is a main field with some electric hook ups and another field in a dip at the top. There are pets wandering around which just lends it even more of a cosy family feel. You're camping but you feel like you're getting a little glimpse into how a farm is run and given the absolute shambles of a way this government is treating these hard working people at the minute, it's clear this way of life should be preserved as authentically as this family run their farm. A lovely stay and a nice glimpse into how rural people work and live.

Good, affordable campsite

This site is very conveniently located for people walking Hadrian's Wall. It has decent shower and laundry facilities, and staff are friendly and helpful. There is a good choice of pitches, and amenities like shops are a short drive away.
