Wow what a place to stay. Views, facilities, service and local area are all great. We had a fab time, even with temperamental weather. Everyone was friendly and nothing is too much. We hired a fire pit with some logs which worked a treat for smores. We stayed on the site most of the time cause there was loads to do there anyway. Our dog loved the dog field, which was very secure and fenced off with little patches to walk and long grass for them to play in. We had an electric pitch which was located at the bottom of the field. It would have been good to also have a tap at the bottom as it looks like there was one but was broken which meant walking up to the top. The toilets are in the main buildings at the top of the field which means its a bit of a walk in the middle of night if you need to go! However, the toilets are very clean and a new block had just opened which was very good. Showers were also good. There is a lovely coffee shop with really nice coffee and fresh pastries. Only down side here was the queue in the morning. 30 mins wait, which was because of the volume of people. I would suggest another machine is required with 3 people. The location is great with it being just a 10/15 mins walk to Bolton abbey, which was fantastic. All in all we will be booking again as this site has everything. Thanks for a great stay, look forward to seeing you again soon.

Lovely place safe for children. I just wish there were more electric pitches. Already booked another stay.

First time on the site, we came Friday teatime, set up and went to the Devonshire for tea. Unfortunately we left Saturday and didn't stay the next night as the group next to us were playing music till midnight and then talking till at least 2 in the morning and then their baby woke up crying at 3:30am for what felt like till sunrise. We know how difficult that must be, especially for them, but given we'd been kept awake till 2 it just hit us hard and we were so drained we decided to pack up. This could happen anywhere and on any campsite it was just bad luck, we didn't notice the "quiet time" rules until we showered the morning after where it's posted on the wall. We will be back, it's a great campsite.

Beautiful clean site with great facilities. It's quite an expensive campsite, which put us off booking initially. However, having stayed here (non-electric pitch) we did feel it was worth the money. The owners obviously have a lot of pride in their business and it shows in every part from the listing, to the booking communications to the place itself. You can't keep your car on the field but you can drive it on to load and unload. There is loads of car parking space but it does still get pretty full! The site is so much the better for not having cars round the tents though. Staff at check-in were super friendly. Facilities very clean and despite it being really busy when we were there, the toilets were always kept well stocked with soap and toilet roll. Having initially moaned about the price, we have now said we will definitely return :)

Lovely campsite and had no complaints whatsoever. It was quite busy though, with families, so ideal for vacationing groups, but not for people looking for pure outdoor experience disconnected from the maddening crowd and bustle of modern life. Not a complaint. I should have checked first. But, still a fantastic campsite, hence the 5* reviews.
Positives to be had

This is a beautiful site, without a doubt. We have returned to camping after many years and aren't, shall we say as spritely as we once were. Fit enough to erect a tent, but not able to endure a sloping pitch so much, no matter how slight the incline. That would be our only niggle that the pitch (17) was on a slope and in front of it a not quite settled down drainage ditch that seemed quite recently backfilled. But we would definitely return and request a level pitch. I'm sure we could have requested a move, but we were only staying a couple of nights.

Great campsite for families with close proximity to great days out being only a few minutes walk/drive. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, always greeted with a smile. Check in was simple and hassle free. On-site there are really good extras including fire pit hire, fresh wood fire pizzas for evening meals and coffee shop including croissants for breakfast. There are washing facilities available where you can also find fridges/freezers kettle and microwave. The only thing that was a slight set back was that the toilets/showers/sinks would get dirty. In the site's defence, they did seem to be regular cleaning and the site was busy. It also takes considerate campers as a team effort to keep facilities clean.

I had an electric pitch. It was sloping even though I had asked for a level pitch - the campsite during most of my stay wasn't full. There is a shop with rows of fridges but most running empty, so no meat etc. I was directed to a Co-Op a 15 minute drive away - not what you'd expect surrounded by sheep and cattle country, not even a farm shop close by. Showers and toilets were clean, although not much room in the shower cubicles. Excellent phone reception.

Beautiful location, pitches well spaced out so not on top of each other. Friendly staff, a perfect hot food corner with fresh coffee and pastries in morning and pizzas at night. Facilities 10/10, toilets and showers block spotless (and I judge an award for the NHS) I could not fault!! I will be back. See you next year 👍

Another great stay at Catgills. The location is perfect, the site is set out well and the facilities are clean and functional. The only slight issues we had were there could be more showers to avoid a wait. The noise rule also was not enforced, it didn't bother us but if you have small children it may be an issue. Once again we had a fabulous weekend and will be back.

We really enjoyed our stay at this excellent site. Staff are great and the pricing is very reasonable and way less than the big club sites. It will be our first choice when we are back in the area.

We booked for my husband and I for our 40th birthday for a relaxing getaway without the kids. We stayed in the ‘Owl’ pod and from start to finish our stay was so lovely. From the little touches left in our pod (hot chocolate, popcorn and even a birthday card!) to the welcome we received on arrival, we couldn’t recommend Catgill highly enough. The cabin and hot tub are so relaxing and well stocked, it even has a posh coffee machine!! We will be visiting again. Thank you!

A really lovely site. Nice spot. Just the right size. Good facilities. The best thing though was the staff: Friendly & welcoming. Professional & helpful. We’d definitely like to come back for a longer stay.
Limited number of flat or close to flat pitches

We accept the topography of the pitches but if it had been busy we would have been sleeping on a significant slope. Staff helpful in moving us to an alternative and flatter pitch (levelling blocks did the rest). The electric hook up was faulty, we had to use a hook up 25 meters away. Staff did come to help but suggested it was our lead when in fact by using the other hook up, it was all solved.

The campsite itself was fine. Close to Bolton Abbey. The staff were nice. The washroom and toilet blocks were very well kept. The only issue was there were multiple campers that had travelled in large groups. The signs say no noise after 10:30pm. Yet, these groups were drinking heavily and shorting/laughing loudly until 2:00am. Maybe the campsite could get their warden's to visit the site at 10.30pm and every so often after, so we can all get some sleep?
Beautiful, quiet campsite

Great campsite in a great location. Nice and quiet, clean toilets/washroom with fridges available to use. Only downsides - a few pitches are on a slight slant and no play area (slides, swings, etc but this is obviously non-essential!) Great dog walking area and great location. Close to Bolton Abbey, Billy Bob's Parlour, Hesketh Farm, Skipton and lots of gorgeous walks. We will definitely be back.
