A great little campsite Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2026 Being 100% honest and this isn't a negative thing, but the site is a simple basic site. Composting toilet, hot showers great views.
Peter was welcoming on arrival. Good directions given via email for finding the site as it's in the middle of nowhere through single track roads.
Also note this is a working farm, so expect the usual noise from the neighbours of the animal kind. Could see the view and the Moon and Venus. Thanks.
Spot on, apart from the toilets! Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Campervan Pitches Jul 2026 In our first night camping as adults, we didn't know what quite to expect, so we booked this campsite for one night knowing there was toilets and shower facilities (which we never used).
The site was easy to find, the roads were rather interesting and there was a good mix of solo campers and groups there, which made some good entertainment in the evening.
The dogs enjoyed it, and it was so windy overnight (but we like that). Bins provided (good!), information point and cleaning facilities are available for your plates and cups.
Toilets, however - wow. I wasn't expecting gold plated toilet seats, but there was left over feces in the toilet (no fault of the site owners), but the smell in general was horrific and the toilets flushed dark brown, smelly water (?).
Apart from that, really enjoyed it, and will most likely return. It's very out of the way, you're greeted by sheep, sheep and more sheep everywhere you look.
Happy days! Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Campervan Pitches Jul 2026 Really loved our stay at Cockin Farm, an idyllic location.
I fully expected it to be off the beaten track and I was delighted with the sense of wilderness from the glorious views across the fields in all directions and the big, dark skies.
I read reviews that said it was "back to basics" so I had no expectation of bougie facilities or any sniff of luxury. The kitchen, toilets and showers were basic but functional. Pete was really welcoming and helpful, and forgiving of me forgetting cash for the honesty box for wood and accidentally leaving my dog mess.
I am really looking forward to returning 🙏✨
Lovely quiet stay Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Campervan Pitches Jul 2026 Lovely and quiet site with absolutely gorgeous views. Directions to get to the site were easy to understand and we arrived hassle free.
Toilets were a bit smelly and the steps to the ladies were incredibly slippery but apart from that, the toilets were basic but useable. One thing that could be better is a tap being on the main site instead of down a hill, slight inconvenience when wanting to do the washing up with it being a bit of a trek away.
All in all, lovely site and will defo be back!
Beautiful location, basic but perfect for my needs Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jun 2026 The location was fantastic—a bit off the beaten track, which was exactly what I was looking for.
The owners were incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout my stay. The only minor downside was that the toilet facilities were very basic, but they were fully functional and perfectly adequate given the budget-friendly price point.
I will definitely be visiting again!
Just what we needed Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Campervan Pitches Jun 2026 Decided Dad with his lads and dogs needed a night away from all the noise of life.
Fire lit, we kicked back with a few beers then took the dogs for a well deserved walk and explore. Met Peter, who was very helpful with everything. Total respect for that they have created here.
Lovely Site Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Campervan Pitches May 2026 Cockin Farm is a lovely location set amongst rolling hills and with easy access to lots of beautiful walks. The way in is via proper single track and it gets a bit bumpy on the last bit, but worth it once you are there. It's quiet - the sound of lambs calling for their mothers, notwithstanding - and the views are great.
It's a minimal-footprint campsite, with no bells and whistles, but all the better for that. There's a compost loo and urinal on the camping field and a little way down the hill some showers and washing-up facilities.
Me and the hound had a lovely night here.
Pete was v friendly and we would definitely come back.
Short stay in Sep 25 Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Campervan Pitches Sep 2025 We had a short stay in Sep 25 while travelling South. The site is in a picturesque location, though it was a little too dark for us to enjoy it by the time we arrived. Do be aware that the site has a steep approach up a farm track, so be sure your camper can handle that.
There is a compost toilet and separate urinals, and a shower unit, though we didn't have a chance to use this.
The farm also has a very impressive and large pig, who is quite fun to meet as your drive in.
We didn't meet the owners who were very friendly and extremely helpful, even giving us a tow in the van when we lost traction on the slope.
