All round great campsite, around 50 minutes from us and just wanted a night away. Staff was lovely and happy to help when needed, facilities were great and easily located, the view from our pitch was beautiful. No bother on site, just everyone having a good time.

Amazing site

Everything was great about the site, perfectly quiet and safe for our 2 children. Facilities clean and well maintained. Location perfect for exploring Derbyshire. The wardens were very friendly and welcoming. A great stay and we’ll definitely be back

Spectacular clean well kept site

Flat plots,shade or sun, plenty of clean facilities ,well mown and tidy , lots of pitches , great views from non ehu pitches, lots to do around , lots of pubs and towns to visit , great walking and cycling nearby

2 nights in beautiful Derbyshire

Lovely small campsite. Well maintained, helpful wardens. Fabulous views from top field.

Great campsite, nice and small so doesn’t feel busy! Couple who run it are very friendly and always happy to help! Definitely recommend!

Amazing stay, would recommend

Location was lovely and remote. Not a tonne to do in surrounding area but absolutely amazing site and the cleanest grounds and most friendly staff! Not a single complaint!

2 adults and a dog

The wardens were lovely, very helpful. Site is well kept and has easy access to Ashbourne and shops. Only downside were the families who couldn't control their rowdy kids who were screaming at the top of there voices till 11pm (not the campsite's fault). Great views. Good for dogs. Showers need longer button hold time.

Great little getaway

Ali and Tim made us feel very welcome and were really helpful. We enjoyed seeing the chickens free ranging around the site, although a little disappointed that they hadn't laid the day we wanted their eggs! We visited Peak Wildlife Park and Ilam (NT); both within easy reach and both worth a visit.

Excellent bank holiday weekend

We arrived Friday afternoon to a busy site but we never struggled all weekend to get to the facilities and have a morning shower. The pot wash was under cover so if the weather was bad, it was fine. The showers were warm and very clean and also, no charge. On our day of leaving which we had to be off the site at 12 noon, we were asked how long we were going to be as they needed access to the field, we were only 4 mins late leaving the pitch. Overall, a great site great location and the weather made it a fab weekend.

Lovely quiet campsite

The location was perfect for us, as we were using it for a base to visit Alton towers, which was only 12 minutes away by car. Really nice welcome, and good pitches. Facilities were always clean and are quite modern. Little shop onsite. We had a relaxing time after the hectic days out and it was great to come back to quieter surroundings. Would definitely return.

A lovely site

We stayed here for three nights while visiting Alton Towers as it was only ten minutes from the park and a great price. The site was lovely. Loads of space to walk around and lots of children playing safely. The ground was beautifully flat and so pitching the tent was easy. The facilities were lovely and clean and very accessible. The site is lovely and quiet, barely any traffic noise at all. All in all, great value for money. We will definitely be back.

A superb site!

This is a fantastic site for a stay away. It was uncrowded, even when almost full, and the wardens, Tim and Ali, were very friendly and helpful. The toilets and showers were spotless and we enjoyed regular visits from the chickens! We will definitely use this site again and recommend to others.

Great clean place

We had a great three days here. Everything was clean. Enough space to set up. It's just a shame we had our dog and it was so hot, so couldn't venture out too far and not much for the kids to do there. The showers and toilets were always clean and the washing up area was big enough for everyone to be able to do what they needed to do. The dog walking field was great to make sure my dog got a good run around off the lead when there was no one else on it. Really nice campsite.

Absolute fantastic place!

Brilliant spot for nice camping. Close to local shops and brilliant walks for the dogs. Very dog friendly. Very clean facilities. Happy and approachable staff. Will definitely be coming again.

Nice if not weekend

This would be a lovely campsite, well located and has good facilities and a lovely team of staff looking after it. However, the pitches are far too close together. In the week was fine but when it filled up on the Friday night it was just horrible. We were packed in like sardines having to listen to fools next to us playing guitars and the only view we then had was a wall of tents. Couldn't get out fast enough on the Saturday morning. Such a shame thus gets it down!

My stay

Needs more facilities, had none for children. No food at all.

Thank you for your review. We love to see parents and children using the large expanse of grass to play games and children using their imagination to create games on the campsite. We do not sell enough food to warrant a food shop, especially as there are supermarkets which can offer a wide choice close by in Ashbourne.

Quiet clean and tidy

There is one field with great views make sure you request it. The 6amp site could not run my kettle it kept tripping out! Site is nice plenty of space.

Thank you for your review. The Pretty Field has amazing views that we never tire of seeing. A 6amp pitch is only suitable for a low wattage kettle, charging phones and lights. We do offer 10amp pitches which are more. suitable for a household kettle of around 2000watts. We hope to host you again at Common End Farm Campsite.

1 nights stay

Had a great nights stay here for the kids first time camping. Great views, very clean and welcoming. Would definitely return for a longer stay.

Site lovely. Staff lovely. Location lovely. My first time camping at 45 and I was terrified. This place made me love it. I can't wait to return!

Lovely clean and friendly site in a fantastic spot

Great site in a fantastic location. Friendly service and offer of assistance when struggling to move our 'van. Can't comment on the showers as didn't use them, but I'm not going to mark them down on that basis.
