VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesMay 2026Arrived amid an event and was pure chaos at first, there was nowhere for us to park and no pitches to pull into at first, but the staff jumped to trying to organise things. Turned out people had parked their cars in the campsite and not the overflow car park, as an example of how mad it was when we arrived. Once the event ended and all died down, the site emptied and we were treated to a lovely quiet pub and campsite.
Landlady & staff were polite, chatty and helpful and informed us that they are new to running a campsite, I think with some pitch markings and an allotted pitch number when booking, it would make things slightly easier as we and other campers spoke at length about similar issues on their arrival.
The facilities were fine but dated and few in number - only one unisex loo and shower for 6/7 hardstanding pitches as well as plenty of tent spaces, so investment in a designated loo and shower block would be a huge improvement. The pub was lovely, with a large garden and plenty of tables, we had a cooked breakfast which was really nice and fresh. Throughout the 2 days we stayed, we were nearly charged different prices for the same drinks (one lad tried charging £7 for 2 lime sodas after having paid 75p a pint of lime soda multiple times prior...) but other than that slight weirdness, the pub and staff were otherwise lovely.
Lovely place

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesMay 2026We only stayed for 1 night as a first try out in our van. The Lovers Knot was a wonderful location, beautiful views so quiet (apart from the crows! ) we shall definitely be back!
We are in the pub in the evening- really good food and very good value for money.
The service we received was so friendly and it was lovely to be able to bring our dogs.
