Great for kids

A lovely little campsite right next to forestry england woods with a gruffalo trail and so many playgrounds. Very friendly staff. Clean toilets. They’re upgrading their facilities, which will be a great addition to the campsite. We had a lovely stay.

Bit disappointing

Lovely location and friendly wardens. However, we don't understand the gate having to be opened and closed each time, and why there isn't a dog mess bin either on the site or at all in the entire forest. We felt penalised for being dog owners. Forestry England cater for children and cyclists but not dogs and their owners. We knew about the lack of showers but being in a caravan, this wasn't an issue.

First impressions

We arrived and got a warm welcome, they told us about there plans for the future, which was nice. They wanted us to be aware, they only have a toilet block. I said on booking a box came up to make me aware of no showers. Site was very clean and tidy, we met some amazing people and children too. Would definitely go back and stay longer with our furry children. The woodland walks were well sign posted.

Beautiful site with very friendly and helpful staff! Amazing opportunities for a good walk with peace & quiet. Obviously no showers but don’t let that put you off, would highly recommend.

Great site

Had a lovely night at this site. Clean and tidy. Fineshade woods next door has lots of playgrounds. Lots of space for kids to play.

Great for the kids and bike riding

We had a great one night stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The toilet block was clean and although there wasn't a shower or pot wash we made do for one night without issue. The kids enjoyed the bike riding trails and the Julia Donaldson kids pack and trail. The trails were clear and well kept. Thank you.

Lovely campsite surrounded by countryside

Lovely campsite, clean toilets, the owners were lovely! No complaints :)

What a wonderful site

So impressed with this lovely little campsite! We are camping newbies and wanted to do a one night ‘trial run’ with a new tent. We had a lovely pitch, the wardens couldn’t do enough for us, so friendly! The site was clean, toilet facilities were kept very well. We found our camping neighbours lovely and friendly. The site is next to a playground, table tennis and lovely walks with the dog. Coffee shop next door for morning coffees. Campsite was great for kids and quiet at night. We had a great time and would definitely be back!

Brilliant camp site

Facilities were brilliant, however I do believe a shower block would complete the site.

Short stay

Great staff. Toilets a bit remote (in the Forestry England visitor centre)

Vantastic!

Just the one night stay, but great value and wonderfully quiet. Huge pitch meaning space between campers. The walk to the toilet facilities is nowhere near as far as some reviews would make you think. Takes 2 minutes if you’re on that side of the site. Will be back, for sure.
