Camping Pod - Camping Pods (Dog Friendly) Oct 2026 Had a wonderful stay in the camping pod at Church Stile Farm.
Perfect location 15 minutes from the starting point of Scafell pike and 10 minutes from Lake Wastwater. Stunning surroundings and right next to the forrest which was lovely. The camping pod was clean, spacious and warm and just what we needed after a very rainy drive there. The hosts were flexible and accomodating with us arriving a bit late. Would definitely recommend and would love to stay again!
Peaceful location
Motorhome - Non Electric Hardstanding Pitches Oct 2026 We spent 2 nights here towards the end of our Lake District tour. Really peaceful atmosphere and friendly people.
Great woodland walks for the dog.
The Sawmill Cafe is within walking distance and we enjoyed the view and sounds of the rushing water at lunchtime.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Sep 2026 The closest campsite to Wast Water & Scafell and Scafell Pike another than the more basic Nat. Trust, or is it Wildlife Trust, campsite. Church Stile farm is both well maintained and boasts a clean, efficient and modern toilet, shower and laundry facility. The individual campsites are well laid out. Some with fresh hardcore and a reasonable no. of "electric' pitches. The only very minor criticism that may be stated is that the washhand basin mirrors seem to have been set for those of somewhat minor stature.

Roof Tent - Non Electric Hardstanding Pitches Sep 2026 We have a bit of a mishap with our rooftop tent, but Church Stile were very accommodating. They kindly offered us one of their camping pods and made our trip easy with no stress.
Facilities were great and staff were very friendly. Would highly recommend. Lovely pubs very close by. Would stay again.

Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 The facilities were some of the best we have had and perfect if you have younger children, as the play areas were wonderful.
The local pubs were an added bonus along with the campsite shop, which sold pretty much everything and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
We did find the room between all the tents was slightly less than other places and a little cramped. But all in all we really enjoyed our stay and the views from the campsite were beautiful.

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2026 The location is depend on what you want, for me was the perfect place, near to Scafel Pike just about 10 minittes by car, could be less and even closer to the river.
Everything was clean and functional.

Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 Our first camping trip with our 2 year old and we loved every second, the site had some amazing views and we felt safe with our son. All the facilities were clean and well maintained, the family changing room was a big bonus for us.
The food served from the farm shop and pizza van was great, with the farm shop having extra bits for when we felt peckish.
We were given a rather generous space to set up and had our car right next to us. Although we didn't end up using the electrical hook up it was easily within reach and looked in working order.
The ground was very rocky, and struggled with some of our pegs, but I think that was just the pitch we were on, and a bit of percussive persuasion with the mallet fixed the situation.

Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 The campsite was clean and tidy, and the reception staff were very helpful.
However, unfortunately, we were pitched next to a family that were very loud, rude and their language was disgusting. I understand that people are different but keep the bad behaviour and language to themselves, instead of being so loud the whole campsite could here.
The warden had to speak to them but as soon as he went it carried on. We would had moved but we were only there for two nights.

Church stile review
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2026 Location good if you are looking to head up Scafell Pike, has a very good valued for money pup just down the road.
Only 1 set of facilities on site which for quite a large site means that you can be waiting for either toilet or shower.
Larger pitch areas as the whole site is split into fields and you can select where on the field you would like to go.

Roof Tent - Non Electric Hardstanding Pitches Aug 2026 We had a lovely stay here with our first time giving the TentBox a run out! Lovely and secluded location surrounded by beauty. The reception/farm shop had some lovely bits in and the staff were of great assistance.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2026 Set in an amazing location, lovely peaceful site. The staff on site are so warm, welcoming, helpful and very lovely to deal with. There’s 2 great pubs within walking distance that serve beautiful food and have a lovely atmosphere. Honestly would definitely recommend staying here. We’d love to return.

Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 A wonderful location with quality facilities near by. Not long from lovely destinations like Wast Water. Very accommodating to families with dogs and children. Amazing and friendly staff members. Highly recommend this campsite!
